I've said this before and I'll say it again. It was a happy circumstance that I discovered Karl and his website through Ann Barnhardt so many years ago. I've learned so much from both Karl and the other posters here. IIRC, Karl had been threatening some years ago to leave this website. If it were ever to come to pass, we would all be the more sad and bereft for the loss of logic and insightfulness, hitting everything out of the ballpark. This ticker is just but one of the many examples.
As regards the Ukraine and Russia, I've been called a Putin shill and supporter just because I happen to not follow the narrative. I'm just curious, and concomitantly, tend to be skeptical of the "NEWEST THING". I've constantly iterated that the Ukies never abided by the Minsk Accords. I've talked about how in the lead-up to Feb. 24th, the Donbass had been experiencing more shelling than ever before from the Ukraine. The blowback I hear is that the Ukraine is a sovereign country, and that Russia had no right to INVADE Ukraine! Well, neither did the Ukraine into Donbass. I've explained that the West and Europe and NATO all promised not to expand eastwards. Their counterargument here is that countries can do whatever they please, vis-a-vis, Finland and Sweden wanting to join NATO. All to no avail. I've said that this is all to do with the Biden corruption. I just get shrugs and have to listen to "How dare you say that? Russia is the aggressor."
It is all the more remarkable that we haven't pissed each other off to the point of just giving each other the bird.

@Drifter and @Ee4fire: Ukie flags are all over here in my neck of the woods in NoVA. Virtue-signaling at its finest.
@Starrynight: "My teenage daughter's school had a blue-and-yellow day, where the students were supposed to dress in UKR colors (she didn't)." Kudos to you and your family for not having your daughter fall for this propaganda. For all the wokeness in our school district, at least my daughter's HS didn't have a blue-and-yellow day. There's no way that I would have ever let her participate in more virtue-signaling.
@Heartlander: Thank you for explaining so cogently the difference between Russia and the Soviet Union. More people need to understand it.
@Jadedamber - I read Ann Barnhardt almost every day. As a practicing Catholic, I've learned a lot from her and she is often inspiring. I found Karl's site in autumn 2021 via The Automatic Earth (https://www.theautomaticearth.com/
Tell me again how vaccinating people with an experimental vaccine which causes more problems than it solves is "caring about human lives"?
The entire fucking Western world pushed this crap on its people...children too.
We're slightly better, but by no means "caring".
If the West cared for its people it would have recommended vitamin C, D, B and zinc on a daily basis, held off on Rundeathisnear and vents as well as the "vaccine".
It appears some people have already forgot and this article is what, one, two days old?
If you're flying a Ukraine flag, assholes, you are the identified enemy right here at home, thank you very much for wearing an enemy uniform openly in public and you deserve to be forced to pay every damned dime of the economic cost to this nation for that act of STUPIDITY. You ALL deserve the worst of what is to come AND IT IS COMING, like it or not. I and many others will do our level best to make sure YOU and your entire family eat that cost -- every damn cent of it. You are the most-stupid follower of the "next shiny object" and frankly, you are too fucking stupid to consume oxygen that could and should instead be used by something like a hog that actually produces a useful end product -- tasty bacon.

Regarding the UKR flag, there's zero flying in my little community. But...and I hesitate a bit to post this for want of a ban hammer, I will. It's a 1A thing, eventually though I vehemently disagree with it. Also all of the tags on social media (twatter, et al). However much it disgusts me (and you), it is protected free speech.
When shit his pants got "elected", I flipped my my federal flag upside down on the front of the house for a couple days. One afternoon, some jack wad neighbor of mine made a very loud and theatrical statement about it while walking past my house while I was outside and in hearing distance. Upon hearing it, I laughed a bit which pissed him off a bit more. I had to politely/neighborly remind him that it was my 1A right to display it that way as freedom of expression. He grumped and continued walking.
I'm fully prepared for flaming on this, but I felt it had to be mentioned. It's kinda what's made us a mostly successfully nation so far.
Maybe that's why our side keeps losing, IDK. But for now I'm still keeping sides even. That is subject to change.

One has a right to support the cause du jour. I have a right to call said person a stupid, worthless sack of shit.

Right @Jack. My point is that I'm free to fly the Fed flag inverted as much as anyone else is free to display the blue/yellow flag or whatever. I think they are assholes, and others think I'm an asshole. And I'm fine with that. The moment that it turns sour (without becoming unlawful) is when it goes bad. It's what this entire experiment is all about.
You have to reap what you sew.
edit: I'm about 13 beers deep into a shitty end of the work week right now, and am not articulating very well. I apologize. My point is that we all can't bitch and moan about (legal, very important distinction here) things that piss us off without acknowledging the same from the "other" side of the coin. There's nothing worse than a hypocrite in my eyes.
I'll be quiet now.

Just for spite, I have a Russian flag bumper sticker on my car. So far, nobody's vandalized my car. One of my friends said that's because most people don't recognize the Russian flag. Really? With all the nonstop coverage of the damn war, people don't even recognize the Russian flag?
Any chance our woke military could win against this army.
Depends on the circumstances. Invade and conquer Russia? Nope, no way. But defeat them in some other, far-off (to both of us) land? Most likely, yes. I don't think anyone can come close to the USA's capabilities when it come to logistics, or just plain killing people and breaking things.

There is no weapon/weapon system in that video that we don't have, and, in many (but not all) cases, of better quality and/or quantity.
However, where we are severely lacking in comparison to Russia is competent leadership and motivation (i.e., our troops know deep down that they would be fighting for the elites and the advancement of aberrant behaviors, while the Russians tend to believe they're actually fighting for the good of their nation and people).
History provides only inconsistent lessons about whether quantity/quality of arms or leadership/motivation is more important in achieving victory. It would be better for everyone if we didn't have to find out whether we or they would "win" this time around.

He lost me when talking about how Well Trained the Ukrainians were and about how they kicked the best of the Russkies. In BOTH cases, no allowance is made for the breadth and depth of corruption within the ranks. Weapons, numbers and equipment on PAPER mean nothing once corruption rears its ugly head.
And I think we all know that its particularly rife amongst both (all?) combatants.
