I agree with you--but all I see in the administration is ideologues who don't care about the consequences and think this is the time to usher in some nebulous better future where we drive Nissan Leafs powered by solar panels. John Lott mentioned that he challenged Obama on this once, when Obama was still at U Chicago. BO was on the anti-fossil fuel kick even then. Lott said wind and solar wasn't scalable enough to replace them. Obama's response was, "You aren't listening. Wind and solar is the wave of the future."

Yes, it'll lead to massive unrest, but they probably haven't thought that through or think they'll get out of it ok.
