Mann, the saving grace of wild game may be all the wild hogs. You are not going to take a .22 and do anything but piss them off. They have moved into the Llano up from the Brazos and Colorado breaks. Those dirty bastards are raising hell in the peanut fields out here. Fifteen or twenty of them can destroy 10 acres of peanuts in a night. The local immigrant Germans are heavy into IR hunting them but are not making a dent in the population of eastern Gaines/Andrews and western Dawson/Martin. I have a little cottage business sharpening butchering implements for the immigrant Germans. One of the local Mennonite butchers makes some great fresh sausage using them but he can't sell it. Texas Parks is at their wits end trying to get the population under control. They get up in the pheasant country, it will put the end to pheasant hunting on the south plains. Another area the TP&WL is concerned is the wild hogs getting in the upper Palo Duro crossing the Canadian River then spreading to NE New Mexico and southern Colorado.
