I'm an optimist and in my fantasy world I can see Russia taking a cue from the way America grew using immigrants. But rather than just accepting anyone, have high standards for new settlers.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see what might be accomplished in Russia with fresh brains and blood?

How many potential entrepreneurs are waiting in the wings for a true free market to emerge?

Image how a vibrant civilization could be moulded in such an environment?

Sigh, but then I remember we're dealing with humans who enjoy being unhappy and controlled - as long as there is someone lower on the pecking order to kick, shame, exploit or best yet, all three.
