The most-compelling data that this flat-out bullshit to a large degree is that Tennessee (and the nation) are literally reporting an effective ZERO flu incidence. That was colorable in October but it no longer is.

So either:

1. Masks work for flu but not for Covid since Covid is not being stopped. This of course means that the "mitigations" are worthless against the target (e.g. it's coming out your ass and most of the transmission is fecal/oral.)

OR

2. They're counting flu cases as Covid

OR

3. The 900lb Gorilla -- Covid has been around for SEVERAL YEARS and was in the flu statistics. In other words ITS NEITHER NEW NOR GOING AWAY and we just have to get used to it being here becasue if it was here those other years then plenty of people had it and the antibodies wore off.
