With only 1-10% of the actual events reported I wouldn't read too much into it. If even 15% were reported it could throw the whole curve a curve. I know VAERS is all we have to work with and yes it's crap by design (Harvard offered to fix it but the gov said "no").

The contamination is very real. Not only in Japan where they stopped Moderna but Dr Fleming and another researcher found lots of "garbage" in them.

One possible explanation that might explain the CDC/FDA not seeing it is that they are not using VAERS. The leaked presentation from Oct 2020 showed they were using CMS (Medicaid) data as a "near real time" view.
