Yeah, that's as far as I am in the article. Programming "against" the software... I'm not a programmer. Or a "developer" (insert Ballmer chimp dance here) or a "software engineer," but this sounds about right.

"Hey, if you check this box, and do this other thing, then the software will do X." Except it doesn't.
