@Susanlauren - Yes, the PHYSICAL damage (e.g. from the spike, etc.) may well be permanent. I'm not sold on the prion stuff; it's extraordinarily serious if true, but there's simply no science on it at this point and frankly, putting ANY attention there, if DISproved down the road, will get you labeled as a crank -- and with good cause.

It's one thing to speculate, it's another base actions on speculation. The latter is almost-always wrong. To avoid something based on LACK OF DATA is fine, but not beyond that.

Especially when its not necessary as there is plenty of actual data to base a decision on.
