Keep in mind that the Emirates, along with Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states (Bahrain, Qatar, etc.) are now notorious for their obesity. Their obesity rates are higher than that of the U.S., if you can imagine such a thing. This sets them apart from others such as Jordanians, Iraqies, Syrians, etc. not to mention those Yemenis.

Covid-19 vaccines may well be an acceptable risk/benefit option for them.
