Yep @Hocuslocus -- these people simply refused to consider this, likely out of speed concerns.

One of the reasons you don't do that, particularly with "new" things, is found exactly there. You need to have people roll it around in their head for a while. I didn't make the connection with the specific, non-naturally-occurring antibody problem for several months. The ADE risk issue I was well-aware of because I knew about the Dengue disaster in the Philippines, and a few others -- but THAT specific risk was one that took a while for me to figure out was a factor.

You do things with haste that can't be un-done and you're asking for it.
