I get it. Holocaust...bad...really bad. Therefore, we need to link all bad things back to that, because playing "pin the Nazi on your opponent" has essentially been the mainstay of US politics for 75 years. If you wanted a better (by a wide, wide margin) historical example, go 20 years earlier to just East of the Holocaust area, and look at the massive, massive state-sponsored genocide there. It has the Holocaust narrative beat by several multiples, and depending on what sources you read, almost an order of magnitude. If you want to know what drove the Nazis crazy, it was the thought that this was coming to them next, given that the Kulaks were ethnic Germans. Look up Holodomor, and avoid the Wiki entry, as it is curated by people defending the perpetrators. History is pointless without context. 2021-07-24 15:09:08
