This thread reminds me of Paul Newman's last line in "The Towering Inferno." Newman played the architect and stood on a sidewalk from a distance looking up at the building, still belching smoke and flames, saying:

"They should leave it standing just like it is, kind of a monument to all the bull$hit in the world."
