Mikivoja: I agree. Since I was young I thought the employment world should be built more on the apprentice system rather than the college degree system. In the 1990s I met a retired bank president who was in his 90s. He had dropped out of school at age 13 to take a job sweeping floors in a bank, and worked his way up to the top without any further formal education. Employees starting at the bottom would be more dedicated and probably satisfied even with minimum wage if they could see the light at the end of the tunnel without having to take a 4 year break from income to earn a degree.
