Liberals dont bend the constitution any more than conservatives. A perfect case in point is the recent Citizens United decision-written by 5 conservatives-which equates political bribery with freedom of speech, and therefore protected by the first amendment. If that isnt heaping new meaning upon the first amendment, then I dont know what is.
