I attended the original Tea Party rally in Fort Lauderdale, FL - as well as another on July 4th of 2008. Then I attempted to attend a third and a fourth and decided I wouldn't do it again. Precisely because of what you wrote. At the first Tea Party rallies the vast majority of the people there were rallying against - SPENDING, TAXES, FRAUD AND CORRUPTION.

The last two "Tea Parties" I attended were full people with signs and handouts and rallying against Abortion OR with signs against Gay Marriage OR with Republican candidates speaking there on podiums (WTF?) talking about abortion and gay marriage and family values and religion or the war on terrorism. There were people with signs regarding immigration reform and closing the borders - no amnesty, etc. There were people with signs about Obama being a muslim or Obama not being a citizen. And of course the Sarah Palin contingent was out in full force.

I'll jump back on board when they decide that saving the country and fighting for people who work and produce is more important than "wedge issues." Whether you are a democrat or a rebulican or (insert your name/party)... The good old boys at the Fed, Treasury, CONgress and the idiots at the White House are raping you (Not to mention every state govt and local municipal govts). That's what every American needs to stand up and fight against.
