Did your antibody test test for S or N IgG Abs?

Since I was not vaccinated it doesn't matter which it read. Now if you have been then it does, and I'm not sure if it would differentiate or not -- the tests I had were NOT FDA approved.

They're all used up now, so it is what it is.

I don't know if the one that Kroger has will read positive if you've been vaccinated. I would HOPE that one is keyed on "N" only; my understanding is that it is 3-panel (IgA/IgM/IgG) where the one I had was IgG-only.

Nice post. I think you're on to something. I would only add that there's some non-zero overlap between some of the groups. NI & V, and P & V, at least. If we knew those numbers it would make things 'fit' a little better.

Diamond Princess being pre-Delta could also make NI=0.8 an unreliable assumption.

If we had solid R and case number data, there may be a way to back into a good guess for SUS based on population density in hotspots. That's just a hunch, though.

Karl, I've been reading your thoughts on vaccines over the last several weeks and found them very helpful. What are your thoughts on an inactivated whole virus vaccine like the Chinese Coronavac?

Most discussion assumes readers only have access to an mRNA vaccine or viral vector vaccine which narrowly targets the spike protein. This will be true for people in Anglo counties, but for those in a position to travel to countries like Mexico or Ukraine there are other options.

Although Coronavac will not be recognised in most "western" countries, probably to encourage people to get the "correct" vaccine, if one is just looking to travel around Latin America, Eastern Europe and Asia, it opens up some options.

Do you see the same potential issues with ADE? If you mistrust a Chinese vaccine, would you consider the similar product from India?

I ask because the way things are heading in Anglo countries makes me seriously think I should leave while I still can, and I am recently retired and able to support myself abroad. And in case you are in the "stand and fight" camp, I have already left Australia and consider it a lost cause, just looking for an island of sanity somewhere.

No I cannot find NAC anymore went back to the place I ordered before and it says it is no longer available. I ordered in most of what I needed many many months ago as I figured they would do everything they could to shut off these resources.

It is absolutely criminal that citizens have to resort to alternative methods and do all sorts of things to get access to the proper resources to protect themselves.

Meanwhile pharmacies and others pass our Narcan like candy without asking for id or need or prescription or anything else. I went to a chain pharmacy back in the very beginning of this and asked if they would fill script for HCQ if I got one. They flat out said they would not fill it. Seems there is another layer of jackasses called the state pharmacy board that have been co-opted to deny access to anything except the clot shots.

Never board the trains or go to the showers willingly.

FWIW, AFAIK, medical inquiries at the interview stage are not allowed. After the offer and before beginning employment, you can be asked medical questions as long as everyone gets the same questions and as long as the questions are directly related to the job, which the EEOC has said covid questions are (for any workplace that you are physically present at).

@Tickerguy - I woke up Thursday morning with a dull headache, soar throat, muscle aches and a low fever. Since I was about to leave to take the kid to college (2 day trip), I could not take a chance of getting to college on Friday obviously sick. I took some pony paste, 6 hours later, symptoms gone.

All I know is I had some kind of virus setting in, no idea what it was. Five days earlier I spent 2 hours in the car with my brother-in-law. He had just got back from seeing his daughter who had just gotten over covid. All except me were Jabbed. Possibly brother-in-law was asymptomatic and carrying Covid?

FWIW, I hadn't taken the jab.

Last Tuesday 7/6/21 I went to have my teeth cleaned. All went well, and they included along with a new toothbrush, some Colgate toothpaste that the dental hygienist said would help to remove tartar. Two days later I tried it out, and didn't notice much difference between the Colgate and my regular toothpaste. That night, Thursday, when I went to bed I had a very slight tickling in my throat, but didn't think a thing about it.

But the next morning, Friday, when I got up, I had more than a tickling, I had a real sore throat. Like the kind you get when you sleep on your back, and snore all night. But it got worse as the day wore on, and I developed a cough, along with some intermittent sneezing. Could the Colgate toothpaste cause this. I didn't seem to make any sense that I could.

The next day, Saturday, the sneezing got more frequent as well as the cough. The sneezing reminded me of a long time ago when I got a yearly Flue shot, and I sneezed nonstop for almost a week. So the toothpaste idea is history, maybe a sore throat, but sneezing. No chance. It has to be something else

Seeing as how I have never, ever gotten a cold or the flu in the summer I had to consider that I might have caught Covid-19 somewhere, somehow. Nothing comes to mind specifically that might be where I picked it up.

I tried to reconstruct the contacts that I had that might have caused this. In the dentists office were a couple of kids, sitting about 6 feet from me. I was only exposed to them for maybe 5 minutes. Then to get my teeth cleaned, the dental Hygentist was wearing a mask as they always to. No question we had very intimate contact while she cleaned my teeth. The the Dentist showed up after the cleaning was done, masked up as well. Could it have been the people that I contacted in the Dentist's office. Maybe, but I kinda doubted it.

Next contact was at the Local Ace Hardware where I went to check out some guns. While there I was chatting up the guy behind the counter, and another customer came up and we started chatting. The guy behind the counter was unmasked, but the guy that was just another customer was masked up. I was going to leave but the guy seemed to know what he was talking about, so I stayed for a little bit longer.

Doing a little research, I found a handy table that compared the symptoms of a Cold, Covid 19 and alergies.

They outline the symptoms of Covid-19. I have some, but many I don't. But it's only been 4 days since the start of the symptoms. They include sneezing attacks 4 or 5 one right after the other. If I wasn't fast enough with the Kleenex and just used my hand it was covered with a watery fluid, just as if you stuck you hand under the faucet in the kitchen. Each sneeze was *very* painful. Not so much in the throat, but in the lungs, towards the bottom and more to the sides. On a scale of 1-10 it was a 9-1/2. I had never experienced anything like that.

You can see from the attached that with Covid-19, Stuffy nose, Sneezing and Sore Throat were rare, and let me tell you I had all three of those big time. I figure Ill be free of whatever it was by the end of this week. Feeling pretty good now actually.

Saturday things went from bad to worse, and even though the symptoms didn't indicate Covid-19 I figured Id see what Ivermectin might do. Used the 1% solution, 1-1/2 cc, mixed with yogurt after a meal. After two days, it lessened my symptoms by a lot. I used it for 6 days straight and things got back pretty much to normal. No sneezing attacks, maybe one sneeze every half hour. That week I went through 4 large boxes of Kleenex.

I didnt want to expose anyone to whatever this was, so I just stayed home and only went out to get groceries. Even if it wasn't Covid-19 (??) and was just a bad case of the flu, it really kicked my ass for sure whatever it was.

Karl already weighed in with the uselessness of coronaVac. It was something like 52% effective when I looked at data, so it probably doesn't help fight COVID.

It does have one major beneficial feature: the adverse events data show it to be largely harmless compared to mRNA/spike mixes, like the three approved in the USA. If you're not in position to reject a mandate and need to keep your job, useless but mostly harmless beats the death stab in my book. I've had two employers who've allowed it, because they have international students. I suspect the NYC vaccine passports require the Spike vaccines; French and Italian, as obnoxious, permit natural immunity or recent clear tests, and I think also foreign vaxxes, as long as approved by the WHO.

If you had to go to Mexico, why not just pay a doctor to squirt the Pfizer into the trash, or some local who wants a free one, and keep the Vax card?

@Blackcrow. I truly believe you will be vindicated soon enough. But I am not sure if all those who have bought into the CDC, NIH, FDA and big Pharma narrative are going to readily admit the errors of their ways. At present, they appear to be doubling down on the narrative (and on what can't work).

The COVID and vaxx madness is dividing people at every level of our society. Including colleagues. Including families. Including communities. Including friends and neighbors. Truly this is madness.

But in the end, you will sleep well at night and you will like and respect the person who is looking back at your reflection in the mirror.

@Ajkalian - There are a LOT of respiratory viruses, including FOUR that are coronaviruses and commonly circulate. OC43 is going around this year, for example.

The only way to KNOW, unless you got one of the atypical symptoms or know who the index was (and THEY in turn were both atypically symptomatic) is to go have an IgG antibody screen run in a couple of weeks. If its positive, even weekly-so, you had it.

Entirely unique no. But it's one of those "marker" sorts of things that certainly raises a presumption.
