Following the First American Civil War, Europe's historic country, France (I personally like 'the Land of the Frogs'), was first attacked by the German Confederation in 1870-71, but WHY? Find the answer and how it might apply to ...

Well, that's answered in this link, The Paris Commune -

PCR's are a tool

But it will find and amplify fragments. As in if you have a lysed virus floating around, it can as a positive test.

And you need a certain load in the swab area to be positive. Oh, and the amplification process (while MUCH better than it used to be) is not perfect.

The "tested positive weeks after a negative test" doesn't surprise me.

Husker.

My buddy in Fremont had a similar experience. He, however, is NOT quiet about the experience. They took it back after he made a fit.

At this point, things are going to implode. My kids need cloths, but if they can't try them on or return them, F the stores.

@Mangymutt: The high exposure of sunlight along the equator has encoded melanin in black/brown skinned pheontytes, that act as a natural sunscreen. The negative effect of that however, is black folkls have a hard time getting vitamin D from the sun. The lighter skin folks lacking melanin is more proned to skin cancer but much better at making vit-D. As such I supplememt D3. I am sure you already know the melanin/Vit D case.

I wondered how long this would take:

Looks like the "new normal" in the Big Blue Hives will be stores/bars/restaurants being required to track all of their customers like cattle. Good thing I like to cook and can make a good dry martini and old fashioned. I'm not livestock and I won't spend money in places where they insist on treating me as such.

Christ on the crapper this mask thing has me on the edge of a goddamned tantrum. I see people all over the place wearing their sweet surgical grade masks, while all the providers in my area-- medical and dental are in short supply. The local 'health' department sent out a memorandum requesting we use one mask/week.

Riiiiiggggghhhhtttttt. Pull my other one.

Anybody sporting a mask in public is being a selfish dick.

With respect, I find the ruction over masks interesting. Here in Tokyo, as previously noted, almost all, but not all, are wearing them. It has always been a common accessory prior to WuFlu and is absolutely no big deal for reasons I discussed earlier. This is normal throughout Asia.

The symbolic value masks have taken and the emotions arising strike me as not too dissimilar from the headscarf controversy or even the MAGA hat.

The claim that one is selfish if wearing a mask that could be used in a medical facility is also interesting. Personally, watching feeds from PRC in January and with a trip to the US, including NYC starting in late February, and being in an age risk cadre, simple prudence advised that I order from a medical supply store adequate PPE. It was waiting for me when I hit the USA. Selfish? More selfish would have been to get sick and infect a medical facility or go there and increase viral load exponentially.

As for PCR test validity, agreed, certainly not perfect. That is why a 14 day quarantine period was required after returning to Japan. That is probably not perfect either.

Of interest, two studies released on risk models, one from AMA, the other from PCR published in Nature.

Its becoming more obvious our leaders are enjoying their powers to boss us around too much to stop anytime soon. What is the point with global travel bans now that the virus is global? Who wants to go to a restaurant where everyone wears a mask or do anything you dont have to do with stupid spacing that has no scientific reason.

Quote:
Last, back to TP. Because the TP is always gone, and there's no possible way to store that much in our homes, and I never see people leaving the store with TP, I've come to the conclusion that the only reason for the TP shortage is because they're blocking it from even being distributed to the stores in any normal quantities in order to create the panic. Would love to ask a store general manager for confirmation, but I'm sure they've been told months ago to deny that the distribution is the issue.

Actually, that's one of those pesky little supply chain issues which our host has been talking about for months. There's a lot of weird interdependencies in the system and we have no idea where or what they are until they start breaking.

In this case, TP is made from wood pulp and wood pulping plants get their wood in the form of wood chips and cut-offs from saw mills. And since the entire construction industry is shut down there's no demand for wood so all the saw mills are idled, which means no wood chips & cut-offs, and everything downstream including TP goes bye-bye.

This shit is all being run out of worldwide private foundations linked to gates and the drug industry. Polly has 3 videos showing the round and round link of a few people through these institutions. The blowhard that went to Congress is in the middle of this swamp. You can't expel an enemy within.

The NAZI's used medicine for a purpose. The USA imported a bunch of them after the war. Companies like Bayer were run by them, before and after the war. Don't think they are not still there. This is degrading down to nothing more than putting Americans on a tracking system, maybe within a vaccine. I don't care to be chipped like a dog.

This is a link to the 1968 flu epidemic. 1 million worldwide death toll with less than half the population, likely equivalent, on a percentage basis, 2.3 million today. Also linked is the 1958 epidemic, which killed 116,000. You can double these death tolls to adjust for population.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resourc....

If anything, it shows they are willing to lie to us to frighten people to advance an agenda. This isn't any different than the Russian collusion bullshit they ran for 3 years and are still trying to recycle. It is now obvious this was a tale told by Obama and the DNC and the same crying Karen media is ignoring it, while running ads on TV with people wearing masks. I hope they look like fools. Now, it is Trump killed people, when it was actually De Blasio and Cuomo. Florida has more old people, why a much lower death toll?

It is probably because it was Sunday, but the figures yesterday dropped off the cliff. IS this thing burning itself out? I'm so tired of hearing the term social distancing, seeing these idiots in masks. Hearing about vaccines, I am not about to take. The damage of what they are doing and what they have done will be felt for 10 years. Forever, if they force this on us. Hopefully enough people would rather be dead than to go through this bullshit. Then we can push it back.

If there was ever a better reason to break up the networks and quit watching them, the past 4 years should be it. 90% of what we hear is lies. If the death toll had been 5000, instead of maybe 60,000, they would have had a microscope on everyone who died. You can only expose these people.

@Aerius, that makes sense that people aren't hoarding it because no one I know or talk to thinks that they're going to $hit themselves to death.

However, I still have my doubts. In about 2008 we had an abrupt slowdown in new housing starts due to the housing bubble finally bursting, and therefore reduced demand for lumber, but never saw shortages in TP.

The other part of the issue is our JIT inventory systems. Prior to the lockdowns, approximately 60% of TP was packaged for retail and 40% for commercial/industrial. Retail TP demand would have increased on the order of 40% overnight, assuming an an 85/15 split post lockdown. There was no way a JIT system could keep up, hoarding or not. Consider how many people are JIT on supplies at home, as they can just pick essentials up anytime they want.

I went into a 'marine' store today. Hand written poster at the entracnce "CDC requires that masks be worn beyond this point". (uh-huh, mmkay) I walked in, got my items for purchase. There was a 3 person line so Customer Service took me at the back counter. After the purchase the clerks said, "Just so ya know for next time you come in, you have to have a mask" Oh, yeah, says I, I got a medical condition. 'Okay'.....

I 'discovered' that I have Intermittent Explosive Disorder. (look it up) (masks make me 'explode', very stressful donchknow)

tritumi - My knowledge and understanding of Japanese culture is very limited and because you have years worth of first hand living experiences I bow to your deeper understanding. So if I do not have things quite right please correct me.

Japan has a much more homogeneous culture with a more ridged social structure than America. Japanese are also more inclined to defer to those above them in social statutes. Wearing a mask has been common place in Japan for several years and like taking ones shoes off when entering a house is the socially exceptable practice.

Growing up I worked at a mom and pop pharmacy that stored products from the turn of last century. A cube of 100% cocaine issued by the U.S.Government, (he kept that one in his safe) Products that contained mercury and medical contraptions that most today would quickly conclude is quackery. Many of those items had a basis in science. There is a medical use for cocaine, mercury does kill off infections, that sort of thing. But just because there may be a specific use for these products in isolated situations, does not mean wide spread public use is good.

American's are not homogeneous and tend to believe they rebel against authority. And just as not taking one's shoes off when entering a house, wearing a mask in public is not something we are used to. Over the past few months we have seen people wear hankies of all colors, masks with different designs and even that diaper looking thing fauxi was wearing the other day. By in far American's are wearing theses things to virtual signal, see who is the coolest, or sadly utterly shame and humiliate others. In the end, how many people are wearing masks because they understand the science behind it, or in the case of the Japanese because they understand the gesture behind it?

I do not want to sit in Drifter's dental chair and have him tell me to open my mouth without seeing him wash up and (fresh) glove up. And I certainly want him to mask up. When our doctors, dentists and others who need to wear masks for patient safety are not able to, because Karen and Biff want to virtual signal they are better than me that does make them selfish.

There is a lot of quackery going on by our so called medical experts, masks, social distancing, contract tracking and the big one vaccines.

What will our future generations think of us when see what types of useless poisons we WILLING let monsters like gates and fauxi inject into us and our children.

With the Japanese culture being different than ours, I for the most part agree with Drifter and most (not all) American's are wearing/hording masks because they are being selfish bastards.
