During spring 2017 we were instructed to incinerate or compost all orange petunias. A Finnish biologist thought them odd and took a look at the DNA. Since there is no natural reason for the orange color to appear in petunias he found someone had spliced corn genes into the petunia plant. GMO plants have a process applied worldwide to make sure any new "creation" does not harm a food crop like corn or create another hazard. Orange petunias were never permitted in America and I believe Europe thus the dumping. Today they have passed the "permit" phase and are sold everywhere.

About 20 years ago the ordinary petunia was either bred with, radium treated or spliced to spread sideways from the round plump plant of eternity. Purple Wave was the first variety and is still the best spreader. A Crayola box of "wave colors" are now available but Original Purple is still the best. Suntory, a Japanese alcohol conglomerate, originated and still owns the rights to the plant. I have no direct knowledge but imagine they have research greenhouses for barley, corn, hops and what ever else could improve small grains. As with all corporate greenhouses the scientists probably have hobby sidelines and one found or created a new petunia.

The reason for the two proceeding paragraphs will soon be apparent. Since a pangolin is a small rodent related to cats and dogs Asian people most likely ate them as soon as they were hungry and caught one. This also includes bats which sleep during the day. Since open fire cooking is such an exact science and who knows if the Asians cooked them at all, a species which carries corona virus over what a quarter to a half million years, humans never experienced Covad 2.

DNA manipulation began when our sun began to emit radiation. In the past half century radium, gene splicing and now CRISPR methods have all quickened the process. My opinion falls on the latter reasons as the simplest is usually correct.

@Josie0802: When are we going to start recognizing that the term racist is often a cover for a crime. When the real dirt starts coming out on Obama, Holder and others in that gang, do you think they are going to raise a different defense? It is kind of like the term they love, DEBUNKED. I couldn't tell you how many crimes they have claimed DEBUNKED, when they have instead been covered up. LIKE BIDEN AND GANG LOOTING UKRAINE. LOOKS LIKE THAT DEBUNKMENT MIGHT BE FORMING CRACKS TOO. WHAT LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OFTEN IS, LIKE YOVANOVICH BEING IN UKRAINE TO KEEP COVER ON CRIME.

https://www.google.com/sorry/index?conti....

@Ebt: I have thought about the age demographics and may have even mentioned them here. I have questions about how they would know it is so mild on kids. There are a lot of old flu that comes back that older people had immunity and it got the kids. Too many old people is a problem in a lot of places, like Italy.

As far as corruption? I'm starting to believe DC is on par with anywhere. There are crews of lawyers, fact checkers that prove lies are true and truth is lies, a press that covers up preferred corruption and then digs up little jewels that cost because the cost goes to set up middlemen, who produce paper. Anyone paying attention to Stone, they might recognize a jury can be rigged for any result and so can a judge. An epidemic in DC that selectively killed lawyers would do wonders for the USA. The USA is desperately in need of decentralization of government, including distribution of money to states and regulation.

@goforbroke: I doubt Trump is going to take the vaccine. I'm sure the Karen's will have a field day on this. My question is, why not the flu vaccine being mandatory, if this is? Also, if it is available to everyone and works, why enforce it? Those that take it can feel secure and take the risks and those that don't are no threat to those that do. If it works and half the people take it, we aren't far away from herd immunity. If they put it out, I'm going to do the you go first and I will wait.

I probably already brought this up, but contact tracing at this stage is a joke. It might work in a rural area, where there are few cases, but when there are a million cases, as there are now, it is worthless. They can stick those monitors and privacy invading tools up there asses.

I think we already know the virus came out of the lab accidentally. We also know China steals everything so we have to assume this originated in the west which is why the truth will never come out. Almost every country in the world shutting down is what I cant explain. It makes no sense as the virus is just a bad flu and has almost no impact on young people. The economic damage is real. I wont be surprised to see the stock market go up 10% when we get the great news of under 1 million extra unemployed. Ill be tempted to buy one of those crazy triple short funds when that happens.

"Almost every country in the world shutting down is what I cant explain."

Bill Gates held a dry-run for CCP-19 at the same time the virus was being released in China, in which 'experts' from around the world role-played locking down their countries to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus.

A few weeks later, the virus is spreading across the West, and guess what? They do exactly what Gates programmed them to.

Had it been an actual dangerous virus, it might have made sense. But it was a horrendous overreaction to the Chinese Sniffles, and heads should roll all over the world as a result.

And Gates should get a bill for trillions of dollars for pushing that nonsense.

We already have rock solid proof that vaccines will not prevent the next pandemic. The vaccines take too long to develop and distribute to prevent a novel virus from spreading across the whole world. If vaccines were the answer we would not have had to destroy the economy and still end up with many dead. If any deaths were prevented is was because of heroic doctors who took risks treating patients in novel ways. That is keeping patients off of ventilators.

Will we have a vaccine distributed in time to prevent a second wave of this virus?

It appears we have also proven lockdowns and contact tracing did not stop the current outbreak. Maybe we lowered the curve, but we have not stopped the cases or the deaths.

It is something to ponder. Why are we investing so much effort into solutions that did not prevent this pandemic?

The answer could be that the objective has nothing to do with our health. Why is Bill Gates so giddy about all of this? When the CNN guy mentioned the economic impact Bill Gates laughed. Are we being terrorized into accepting a lower standard of living with less freedom?

Virginia Covid-19 Update: While we only had 7 new deaths today taking the state to 1009 total deaths we also had 11 new outbreaks at long term care facilities.

All are in Northern Virginia (8 in Fairfax, 2 in Arlington and 1 in Prince William) so expect the deaths to spike again which will be used as further rational for continuing the lockdowns. The stupid continues to burn.

@Jesjohns

In normal times, I don't think the world would have locked down. They might have realized something was up and isolated the elderly and vulnerable.

But here, we have the dynamic between Trump and the media (i.e. the fake news). When Covid19 came, if Trump didn't lock down, they would be hyperventilating over every death, showing crying relatives on the news nightly, and saying how its all Trump's fault...and possibly succeeded at swaying public opinion against him.

Trump saw that coming a mile away and went into full lockdown mode. The other countries witnessing this were thus forced tot lock down too. How could they just sit around and let people die when the *US was doing all this?

So, IMO, this is what happened. Were it not for Trump vs the fake news, the whole world would have acted much like Sweden.

Emg: Let me take a stab at that...

(I will get down voted for it, but it is what it is)

...the testing has been notoriously unreliable so if they ever did test negative, that is in doubt and then on the flip side, it is a new virus and we have no frame of reference with evidence or long term studies showing the length of immunity given once someone beats it...or even if they really do beat it or it just becomes a chronic illness that goes dormant to later resurface like the way Chicken Pox hides in our neurotissue.

This is why a bunch of the scientists are freaking their shit and been saying: 'chill the fuck out'

Rightly or wrongly.

For all we know, this virus might end up causing sleeping sickness in people twenty years from now in that seemed to recover from it.

That happened in the 1920s if I recall correctly. A mysterious cold or flu went through and some people for whatever reason just went catatonic and didn't wake up.

On the flip side, something crazy good could happen like if you beat Rona you never catch another Coronavirus again, like people that used to catch cowpox were immune from smallpox.

Nobody knows, which is why some people have been saying the real Conservative thing to do if you want to claim to be Conservative is to be cautious because being cavalier about such things could end up blowing up in our faces.

Now I'm not saying that such an argument is worth blowing up the world economy for...far from it. There is a balance of prudence and cavalier and humans are just not good at degrees of motion.

We are either bury our heads in the sand or go all in. Our plans are for disaster or prosper...not plans for degrees of survival.

There's nothing conservative about destroying your economy over a case of the sniffles. Or, for that matter, about quarantining healthy people rather than sick people.

And if you do believe that's legitimate, you should be concerned that the cray overreaction to this disease means it will be much harder to convince people to do this for another disease which is actually hazardous.

Study Points To COVID-19 Lab Creation; Lead Author Suggests 'Forced Selection' Vs. Genetic Engineering
17 May 2020

https://www.zerohedge.com/health/study-p....

A study led by Flinders University vaccine researcher Nikolai Petrovsky in Australia reveals that SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19, is optimized for penetration into human cells vs. animal cells - undermining the theory that it naturally evolved in animals before jumping to humans, according to LifeSiteNews' Matthew Cullinan Hoffman.

The authors of the study, led by vaccine researcher Nikolai Petrovsky of Flinders University in Australia, used a version of the novel coronavirus collected in the earliest days of the outbreak and applied computer models to test its capacity to bind to certain cell receptor enzymes, called ACE2, that allow the virus to infect human and animal cells to varying degrees of efficacy.

They tested the propensity of the COVID-19 viruss spike protein, which it uses to enter cells, to bind to the human type of ACE2 as well as to many different animal versions of ACE2, and found that the novel coronavirus most powerfully binds with human ACE2, and with variously lesser degrees of effectiveness with animal versions of the receptor.

According to the studys authors, this implies that the virus that causes COVID-19 did not come from an animal intermediary, but became specialized for human cell penetration by living previously in human cells, quite possibly in a laboratory.

-----

Note that I saw elsewhere that before destroying and sterilizing the alleged wet market source, the Chinese only took surface samples and did not test a single animal. Considering that the virus was undoubtedly widespread in Wuhan humans by then, that proved nothing.

Peer-Reviewed Study Rejects Pangolins As Intermediary Species For COVID-19
15 May 2020

https://www.zerohedge.com/health/peer-re....

A prime suspect in the 'wet market' coronavirus origin theory was just given a pass, after a peer-reviewed study found that the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, could not have jumped from pangolins to humans.

As a refresher, SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19 in humans, is 96% identical to a coronavirus strain found in bats known as RaTG13 - which was incidentally collected in a cave in Yunnan, China by scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

On its own, RaTG13 cannot infect humans, however SARS-CoV-2 has a 'receptor binding motif' (RBM) which is identical to a pangolin strain of coronavirus - stoking speculation that pangolins were an intermediary species, or 'reservoir' between RaTG13 and SARS-CoV-2 (despite the fact that pangolins weren't sold at the wet market).

Which leaves us with the following leading theories as to the origins of SARS-CoV-2:

1. A bat coronavirus with a never before seen pangolin-like RBM came from a wet market that didn't sell bats or pangolins, and now some other species is the intermediary - unless a pangolin is eventually found with SARS-CoV-2.
2. It was engineered at Fort Detrick, Maryland's USAMRIID and spread by the US Army in a clandestine mission last October during a military sporting event in Wuhan, China (a theory promoted by the CCP).
3. Scientists working with bat coronavirus, in the exact town it emerged from - who made headlines in 2015 for modifying bat coronaviruses specifically to infect humans (and were internationally admonished for it) - either created SARS-CoV-2 by splicing pangolin receptors onto RaTG13, or captured it in nature, and a former, known employee accidentally infected herself before going shopping at the proximate wet market during the virus's long asymptomatic period (and who hasn't been heard from since).

Uncovering the potency and evasiveness of the COVID-19 virus
8 May 2020

https://medicalxpress.com/news/2020-05-u....

SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is highly infectious. Curiously, in many patients, it triggers poor immune responses, which prolongs illness.

[snip]

Specifically, the team of scientists investigated how the virus "unlocks" human cells using a surface spike protein as the "key." They made three important findings:

- the tip of the viral key binds strongly to human cells;

- the tip of the viral key is often hidden; and

- when new virus particles are made, the viral key is already pre-activated by a human enzyme.

"Typically when a virus develops mechanisms to evade immune responses, it loses its potency to infect people," said Li. "However, SARS-CoV-2 maintains its infectivity using two mechanisms. First, during its limited exposure time, the tip of the viral key grabs a receptor protein on human cells quickly and firmly. Second, the pre-activation of the viral key allows the virus to more effectively infect human cells."

Can't Make This Up: Beijing Begins Construction Of A P-3 Biolab
18 May 2020

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/cant-m....

Recall that in a May 6 press briefing, Pompeo accused China of covering up the Covid-19 outbreak as it emerged in the central city of Wuhan, saying Chinas National Health Commission had ordered destruction of samples of the virus on Jan. 3.

Asked about those comments at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday, NHC official Liu Dengfeng confirmed that the commission had issued these guidelines at that time "for pandemic prevention and control, which also played an important role in preventing biosafety risks."

"If the laboratory conditions cannot meet the requirements for the safe preservation of samples, the samples should be destroyed on the spot or transferred to a professional institution for safekeeping," said Liu, supervisor of the commissions Department of Health Science, Technology and Education.

Chinese law has clear rules for the handling of highly pathogenic samples, he said, and we are sure that it does... but wait a gosh darned minute? According to Dengfeng, China is basically admitting that the coronavirus samples - which were held in China's P-4 rated, top "biosafety" lab in Wuhan which incidentally is also where the virus was leaked from according to a mountain of circumstantial evidence - were not safe in the Wuhan lab and thus had to be destroyed?

Considering that one of the core arguments made by the Trump administration (and this website) is that the virus (whether genetically engineered or otherwise) was released (hopefully without premeditation although there is no way of knowing for certain) by the Wuhan lab, China's actions essentially confirm that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was unsafe, and thus every last sample of the virus had to be destroyed.

Of course, the real reason why China destroyed the samples was different, and it had to do with not only destroying all the evidence but crushing any hope of finding what the real source of the pandemic was. As the WSJ reported, "Public health experts say it is likely too late to investigate the role of the market in Covid-19s spread and that proving its origin might now be impossible." And with China destroying the last remaining coronavirus samples, well - there goes any hope of proving or disproving that the virus emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Just as China wanted.

China has simply proved in spades the truth of the old commie adage found in various forms: "A capitalist will sell you the rope you hang him with." With multinational corporations or any other business with no overriding national loyalty, profit is of course the bottom line. In the US there is even a fiduciary requirement by law to provide maximum value for stockholders.

A fix - government regulation - is not practical because "our" government has long been BOUGHT by those same corporations. So, a grassroots effort of "Made in China" equals DO NOT BUY commitment whenever possible is the only fix while, most importantly, letting the businesses involved know WHY you aren't buying their product.

Public shaming of fools who wait in line for the latest "Made in China" toy they don't actually need, like the latest iPhone, also needs to happen and covered in online alternative news sources since our Chinese money seeking corporate media and entertainment industry surely won't cover it. They should be considered collaborators with an evil regime and publicly shamed just as those who would have bought Nazi Germany's or Japan's products during WWII would most definitely have been.

Also, although this will be very difficult to accomplish with our bought government, no federal, state, or local government funds of any kind should be spent on anything made in China, any investments using same made there, or any cooperative efforts of any kind made. A conservative but INFLEXIBLE period (otherwise, like the national debt ceiling, it will be extended forever) for full activation of that ban should be used to FORCE industry back to the US.

At the very least, it should be made known that any politician whose administration violated this without China being a [temporary] sole source should be voted out of office as surely as if they'd personally raped an orphanage full of children because they will have figuratively raped the future of all children by making their future dependent upon an evil, totalitarian regime just as evil as the former Soviet Union, but FAR more dangerous as a wolf in sheep's clothing greatly enabled by a mercantilist system instead of seriously crippled by a socialist system and bound to eventually and inevitably fail as was the Soviet Union.

I have friends in State Government(s), Conservative Republicans who have expressed to me their frustration at this, because it has put them in to an untenable position.

If they advise caution such as 'hey if you think you are at risk due to a possible comorbidity, wear a mask, be sure to wash your hands regularly' they are seen as making a political statement advocating for putting a gun to our heads and blowing our brains out, when they see it as a matter of prudent caution.

Likewise I know liberals that advocate for trying to maintain some semblance of normal so we don't end up with a revolution of hungry people on our hands, they are accused of wanting Granny to die.

Introduction
Since the United States and the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) established diplomatic relations in 1979, United States policy toward the PRC was largely premised on a hope that deepening engagement would spur fundamental economic and political opening in the PRC and lead to its emergence as a constructive and responsible global stakeholder, with a more open society. More than 40 years later, it has become evident that this approach underestimated the will of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to constrain the scope of economic and political reform in China. Over the past two decades, reforms have slowed, stalled, or reversed. The PRCs rapid economic development and increased engagement with the world did not lead to convergence with the citizen-centric, free and open order as the United States had hoped. The CCP has chosen instead to exploit the free and open rules-based order and attempt to reshape the international system in its favor. Beijing openly acknowledges that it seeks to transform the international order to align with CCP interests and ideology. The CCPs expanding use of economic, political, and military power to compel acquiescence from nation states harms vital American interests and undermines the sovereignty and dignity of countries and individuals around the world. To respond to Beijings challenge, the Administration has adopted a competitive

It is clear the repeated missteps by you and your organization in responding to the pandemic have been extremely costly for the world. The only way forward for the World Health Organization is if it can actually demonstrate independence from China. My Administration has already started discussions with you on how to reform the organization. But action is needed quickly. We do not have time to waste. That is why it is my duty, as President of the United States, to inform you that, if the World Health Organization does not commit to major substantive improvements within the next 30 days, I will make my temporary freeze of United States funding to the World Health Organization permanent and reconsider our membership in the organization.
