Ah, but that War On (some) Drugs provides the government with a handy boogeyman and allows them powers that would not be granted otherwise.

As a libertarian I endorse the legalization of drugs. We have made prescription pain medication both expensive and hard to get, the illegal kind is readily available and much cheaper. Like Prohibition, this needs to end.

One caveat - providing addictive drugs to minors should be punished harshly. Anyone doing so for the purpose of sex... death penalty.
