Karl
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the efforts you have made over the last 4 to 5 years since I began reading your work.
I think I will never find another person in the world who has shown a level of Integrity as you have shown.
Many who I used to believe had integrity prove over time just to be slippery salesmen.
You have enabled me to remain sane in a world that is really messed up and I will miss your articles. I hope one day to buy you a coffee and shake your hand.
Good luck in whatever adventure you take on.

Tickerforum and MarketTicker have been an important part of my daily routine for years. I'll miss it and this rambunctious crew. Congratulations on everything you've done and are yet to do. Its impact is more than anyone can know.

Our best wishes for you and your family.

It's been an honor and a privilege.

Thank you, Karl.

"Old articles will disappear from public view, a change recently implemented and one now filtering through the various Internet archives as they "refresh" their links."

If your goal is to spread your message & help wake people up to reality, what incentive is there to break thousands of inbound links to your site that act as a gateway to help introduce people to your site?

By breaking those links in bulk it would...

- make some people who click into those links back out without exploring further
- make some webmasters less likely to link to your site on a forward basis (if they presume the links will just break they might just cite other sources that they feel are somewhat inferior but less likely to go away)
- lower the exposure of the site inside search engines like Google and Bing (search engines view links as votes & by breaking the links you effectively remove those votes from the search ecosystem)

If there is a section that isn't worth the cost of policing it would be more beneficial to set those sections to "archive only" rather than outright deleting them.

Another aspect here is that some of the people who have spent hundreds or thousands of hours reading/writing/participating on your community forums might be less willing to participate on a forward basis if they think that the 45 minute post they write is likely to disappear in a few weeks or months or such.

Best of luck on a forward basis with whatever you do...I read your homepage daily & will probably still look daily even if the posts are far less frequent.

A couple of years ago, I dumped a high-flying career in law to be a small-time country farmer. I haven't regretted the choice for a minute. The simplicity of a scaled-down life in a small, rural community has brought me an unbelievable quality of life.

When you get out here, you realize that a majority of the country (at least geographically) lives very simply in tight-knit communities that have very little enmeshment with the federal government. In fact, they're mostly off the government's radar screen. If shit hit the fan, they would do just fine because people in the country are used to getting by on their own, or by pooling resources with their neighbors.

It probably won't be long before I pull the plug on my internet connection. At this point, it's detracting, rather than adding to, my quality of life. The television cord was cut when TV went digital, and ties to banking were severed several years ago. I keep a cell phone for emergencies, but other than that, it doesn't get used. An AM radio does me just fine, and I don't have to consult an owner's manual to make it work.

Making the leap to voluntary simplicity isn't such a big deal. It runs against the grain in the city, but in the country it's as normal as can be. Minimal stress, crisp clean air, the sound of crickets, the smell of wood stoves burning, real relationships that are as simple as putting on a pair of gloves and helping move a tree off the road, old-time values. I can't recommend the life highly enough.

Thank you Karl for all your hard work running this forum. You are making a difference. You enlighten me to what's really going on behind the scenes in DC.
I always enjoyed listing to you, when you went on the radio(especially on the Ron Smith show(God bless his soul), trying to inform the public, of all the criminal activity, along with fraud going on in DC,and with the banks. I did my
part, and tried to inform people how bad and serious the situation is. But like
you said. Dancing with the stars, or the Voice is more important in there lives.
Most say I am overreacting, or give me a blank look. IT will take a major collapse for the sheeple to at least get out of bed, and or maybe wake up.
And then I am not so sure. Again thank you for all the good you do for others.

Sincerely, Ron

Karl, You have been my personal "Hero" for sometime now....

I followed your lead when the Tea Party Began and I continue in that direction today. Your personal ethics and patriotism are and have been an example for us all. However, I join you in your frustration and angst.

I too have "Gone Galt" in that I have reduced my taxable income to near zero, but not till I had made for some kind of safe future for my children and grand children.

Please understand Karl that your efforts have not been totally in vain...for many of my friends and family have received from me your message periodically, and they can't say that neither I nor you haven't tried....

So no matter where events lead us, I applaud and SALUTE you Karl.

God Bless You Sir and God Bless whatever is Left of America.

Good luck KD. Keep that powder dry.

I believe we all saw the writing on the wall, and that this decision was inevitable... the telltale sign or indicator was the rapidity and frequency of recent "ban-hammers"

FWIW... always loved the analogy of the pond lily and the fish...
Quote:
we are the fish, incidentally, and the lilies are debt

... a recent statistic I read leads me to believe that the pond may be nearly fully covered... :-|

I am sorry to hear of your decision (if not only for selfish reasons) because I thoroughly enjoy reading The Market Ticker, and all the other special privileges that go along with being a gold donor... it helps to keep me sane...

In any event, I admire and respect your decision, and as they say in the Navy... "fair winds and following seas"...

I can't say I haven't seen the level of Karl's "Why do I fucking bother?!" lately, but I've been hit by a similar bug... Just not to the same degree. It seems utterly hopeless at times, and I've even considered promoting do the opposite of what Karl's doing now - trying to convince EVERYONE to become the biggest .gov leeches possible. Take EVERY handout you can, get EVERY available "aid" paid in from tax dollars, etc. The point here would be to bring on the collapse FASTER, no longer attempting to STOP it.

Friends, there is NO way to stop it now. I think any more trying at this point is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I think it just might be time to finally join a club that actually allows me to practice using my evil black beauty rather than just playing with it on occasion.

Karl pal, I hope I get to meet you again (and get a pic this time, dammit!), and I'd love to go plink a few hundred rounds with you sometime. Take a break, focus on whatever is needed, and watch that six. You know you've got someone here that would help do so whenever needed.

I withdrew consent politically, defacto quite a while ago, which got set in stone the day of the Roberts' decision. Allowing TPTB to game my exercise of the franchise in order to legitimize their thievery and murder is not ethical.

Financially I am presently passing up what, ten or five or even three years ago, I would have counted as a golden opportunity to grow my firm. Not just to withdraw consent where it damages TPTB the most, but because of the uncertainty surrounding everything but the simple fact that the numbers no longer add up to make the effort worth it.

TPTB of the Roman Empire taxed its productive into oblivion as it fell. There is no reason to believe that TPTB of the Amerikan Empire won't do the same.

Ethically IMHCO, the only honest work possible today is trading the markets. Precisely because it is a zero sum game. The way I choose to view the matter, very dime I make swapping futures is a dime that won't go into the Vampire Squids' pockets, while Babylon on the Potomac's rake off the top will remain more or less even.

It has been one helluva ride here on TF. Sincerest of thanks for the matchless education, Karl. I hate to think how clueless I would still be today without all the chills, thrills and spills. All the best to you and your loved ones.

Okay, well. All that said, does this mean no more Boobie Thread?... smiley

What to say?

On one hand, if you increased TF fees, with likely increased tax submission, you ran contrary to the idea of withdrawing your Labour to hurt leviathan.

But, otoh, if it's really a lack of knowledge and not ignorance that causes Boobus Americanus to behave the way he does, closing down TF eliminates a very good educational resource.

Rock, meet hard place.

I was pondering what to do myself lately. I'm a pariah in my former social circles. While I protected my capital and did my best to warn family members they were pocketing high six and low 7 figure sums, all tax free, flipping their primary residences yearly. And laughing at me.

What did I get? Probably a 30-50% reduction in the purchasing power of my cash. My SO just renewed her mortgage for 2.15%, on a decent sized sum.

I'm crazy not to dive into a market with 7-9% annual appreciation at a cost of 2.15%. So I'm going to. With half my money. Which would have bought twice as much 5 years ago and shows all signs of only retaining 25% of its purchasing power in 5 years.

A long time ago I joked on another blog that food costs were irrelevant if you could finance your groceries. Don't laugh, the "truck" company store and scrip system were booming during GD1. Not because of GD1 but in parallel with it.

So far we've seen housing and education and transportation costs all detach from reality because you can finance that which you can't pay for today but promise to tomorrow. Food costs, IMO, will simply be another staple that detaches from reality and gets financed.

"I owe my soul to the company store" along with your mortgage company, your kids educational Institute, your car loan carrier, your health insurer and Uncle Cheese, the greatest armed bandit the world has ever seen.

The last 6 years have taught me that TPTB have more tricks up their sleeve and time to implement them than most of us have capital to carry on , without , at some point, eating our own seed corn. They're going to jawbone a return to fiscal sanity until this rock is in economic ruin. From reading history, it seems most empires take a good generation or two before they totally implode.

I can't choose what my descendants do with anything I leave them but if I don't start pocketing the free money I see all around me there will be nothing to leave them.

It's been an honor to have known many of you. It's a shame there's no other place on the net where like minds can gather.

Good night, and good luck.
