She backed out the primary because she polled less than 2%. My understanding is she was picked by the Hillary faction of the party because she was perceived as being the "heir apparent" to Hillary and her policies. Additionally, she is apparently owned lock, stock, and barrel by the social media giants of Silicon Valley. It was them that bankrolled her Senate seat run. I believe her reputation as "kneepads" is largely the reason they supported her. She is both incompetent and corrupt.
