Auldsnu Posts: 82 Registered: 2021-04-21 Portland	@Heartlander."just VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY SEASON" As I have indicated before, I have no STEM background at all, but no later than last April I did a search on "Vitamin D and Covid" and saw immediately that people with sufficient levels of Vitamin D were not winding up in the ICU or if they did, were not dying. The amazing thing was that my dispatcher and the maintenance man in our complex already knew this, I mean that Vitamin D would keep you from Covid's worst effects. The medical community already saw it, too, but they could not pick up the phone and call their patients to come in and have their Vitamin D level checked. And why? Because correlation does not mean causation. No, before they could open their mouths, there had to be studies, of course, randomized trials and the like, ad infinitum. They could not say, because "science," MAYBE VITAMIN D WILL HELP. WE ARE NOT ABSOLUTELY SURE, BUT MAYBE. From what I understand, these Vitamin D studies are still ongoing. My impression is that Vitamin D is being studied far more thoroughly than the mRNA vaccines, the thing that not only does not help but threatens great harm less than than the inexpensive thing that really does help and would have saved billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives. My respect for the medical community has taken a very big hit. Where is common garden variety prudence and common sense? I absolutely do not want a doctor who is in awe of the CDC or the NIH, who cannot open his mouth to save my life. 2021-08-03 00:19:51
