My wife and I went to a friend's house for dinner last night. They are physicians, she's a GP and he's a pulmonologist. The vaccines came up in the conversation and I was asked if I had it and said no. I said I didn't want an mRNA vaccine but would consider one like the normal flu shot based on an attenuated virus. They were shocked that I was opposed to the vaccines and went on a diatribe about how fabulous these vaccines are, even calling them miracle drugs. I mostly talked with the wife who admitted their view is biased because they see Covid patients directly. The husband has been treating Covid patients in the ICU since this all began. I mentioned the lack of long term testing and the deaths and adverse reactions but she was firm in her support of the vaccines. I told her I take vitamin C and D (which she strongly advocated) and I take Quercetin and zinc when I go to social gatherings.
I asked her what she did when a patient called her office with Covid symptoms. She said, as Karl had been regularly reporting, she tells them to stay home, but if they have breathing difficulty, go to to ER. If a patient is high risk, she sends them right to the hospital for plasma with antibodies. I decided not to bother her about Ivermectin, figuring she would not advocate it.

Then I asked her about statins because my doc want to put me on them because of a cardiac calcium score of 100 which is at the very lowest end of "moderate." She said she's put people on statins with lower scores than that, but that she was not a statin fan. She said the research on side effects mostly only looks six months into the future and a lot of people have muscle aches and pains later and tend not to attribute it to the statins. She said, "I'd go full vegan before I'd put myself on statins."
