PCR's are a tool But it will find and amplify fragments. As in if you have a lysed virus floating around, it can as a positive test. And you need a certain load in the swab area to be positive. Oh, and the amplification process (while MUCH better than it used to be) is not perfect. The "tested positive weeks after a negative test" doesn't surprise me. 2020-05-18 15:51:12
