The problem that even places like the Oklahoma Surgery Center have to deal with is that the devices and supplies are still being provided under monopolist pricing.|
This is why you can't "just" patronize them and call it fixed. It's not. If you want to see "fixed" go have a bypass done in India. $2,000 instead of $10,000 and the doctor was not only trained in a US hospital all the gear and such were made by the same suppliers in use here.
The difference? There's no monopolist pricing there and as such the cost of said supplies and devices reflect a rational, free market -- at a tiny fraction of the cost of same in the United States.
