Fact: If you believe "X" (where "X" is conferred by birth and not personal choice) are "God's Chosen People" you're a racist.

Now if "X" is a decision made by individuals, and one can opt in or out as one decides in their life, then no.  If you believe that a certain way of life, which one chooses and then practices, means you find God's favor, well, ok.  There's no problem there; that's otherwise known as either ethics or morals, depending on whether you believe divinity or rational thought is at the core of the expected result.

But if you believe that status is conferred by lineage you're a racist and any such delineation in employment, education, housing and public affairs in the United States is illegal.

Yup.

Can't argue that.

For the record, that is in accord with St Paul's writings in the NT.

Now, prepare for the heretics known as Dispensationalists to come crashing in.

Oy. But didn't the god of Shlomo anoint the tribe of ritual penis mutilators to be his Selected People? Just ask them and they'll tell you it's so. Therefore, our government should act accordingly and shovel as much of our money as possible to them. There aren't any pressing needs for our money in America like there are in israel.

Looks like Musk has run afoul of the Selected People and has been accused of being less than worshipful of the Selected People. No doubt the Defamation league would like to see anyone accused of such being considered worse than child molesters and thrown in jail. "Our" government is craven enough that they may make anti-Selected People-ism illegal like it was first criminalized in the Soviet Union.

Aren't Arabs semites too? Therefore, isn't our government anti-semitic by sending israel bombs and rockets to kill arabs?

It amazes me how many Christians justify blowing up children and civilians, based upon mostly Old Testament stories and end time prognostications ... while ignoring 90% of the teachings of Christ.

Jesus said to turn the other cheek, not to respond with overwhelming lethal force upon innocent parties, all in an attempt to punish the perpetrators ...

Well I would argue @Jfenello that NO CITIZEN is in fact "innocent" when a government entity does such a thing. (And as I've noted the delineation between "Act of War" and "Crime" is whether a government was involved in funding, directing or doing said thing.)

Why?

Who paid the taxes so the government can function? Who made the planes, bombs, missiles, radars, ships, submarines, drones, guns, ammunition and similar?

Who made Hitler's tanks? England's bombers? Our aircraft carriers, planes and (eventually) nukes? Japan's Zeros? Russia's artillery? And so on.

The premise that a "faceless government" is guilty but not the people who allowed it to be elected, labored and paid taxes into it, then actively built, transported and made available the weapons it uses is farcical in the extreme.

Not all THAT long ago such farces were not even attempted; the King, Lord, Baron or whoever got up in front on his horse, with his sword, and led. He frequently died too. There was no mistaking the fact that everyone was involved, from the smiths that made the swords and barding to the dudes both mounted and on foot. There was none of this bullshit where "oh some people did something."

Uh huh.

Like Hell.

It's racism, sho'nuf.

There are long lists of sins in the bible. I haven't found racism in any of them.

A further thought on racism: Singapore is an explicitly racist society: they acknowledge race. We ignore it, pretend it doesn't matter.

Singapore's method seems to work better than ours. Acknowledging reality usually does work better than ignoring it.

For me it is very simple.

Mark 9:38-40, "For he that is not against us is for us"
And the parable of the good Samaritan. Whoever does good to you and care about you is your brother.

But we have two groups of people fighting one another.
- One that never recognized Jesus and put no value on his word, that say they are the chosen ones by God and, for some of the radicals in that group that are driving current events, other people is inferior to them.
-The other is a group of people that do recognize Jesus, but also demands the belief in a prophet that came after Him. And if not, you are an infidel that deserve death or slavery.

Now, just someone tell me why we, Catholics, Christians or Orthodox should take sides on that fight, and why, by not taking sides, they consider us "their enemies".

Sorry guys. Christians has gone thru a lot of blood and grief and mistakes including crusades and inquisition to end up separating religion from government and giving rise to modern western civilization. We are not to be dragged back onto religious war.

Religion is for own life and ethics. Not to kill and hate those who had not made any wrong to us.

Do I fell sorry for the bombed kids? Sure. I also get emotional on some pictures and news. Who would not be touched by photos like the one from Aylan Kurdi, napalm girl, or the guy jumping from the twin tower? just to mention a few that are not from current events.

Still not my fight.

While we are at it to hell with Ben Shapiro. His racism is showing. Candice could not even be sarcastic with the election of Nikky Hailey as president of Israel for all the knob jobs given to these people.

The truth hurts doesn't it Ben. This humorless dick's racism is showing. Too bad his racism was not removed with his foreskin.

Btw Israel has the biggest collection of alphabet people in the middle east.So much for teachings of Torah. How many time has Israel been punished for their turning away from the law?

Any other country would stone them. Yet they bite their protectors hand. It shows how messed up Israel truly is. No one there us to be trusted.

The term racist is overused. Besides I have never met a single person anywhere who isnt racist when using the definition of discriminating on the basis of colour, nationality or ethnic grouping. And its nuts that a certain minority has an outsized influence over your government; but you yanks let it happen.
As for the conflict over there my attitude is it isnt my fight and if kids are getting killed I dont give a fuck as their parents should never have let Hamas take control these past 20 years to make the kids into human shields.

I can only wish that Euro-Whites were as "racist" as our Asiatic "fellow Whites."

We would be 1/3 of the global population, have flying cars, cured cancer...you name it.

But no. Every accomplishment we make, or thing we build, we freely give away to "diversity" and then start all over.

> The term racist is overused.

Stop assuming those using the term are doing so in good faith.

They are not.

The people predisposed to use "racist," and other terms like "mysoginist," and "transphobe," are using the term to attack the moral standing of the accused. Thomas Sowell calls these people "anointed" in his book Visions of the Anointed. The Anointed are the sort that are utterly convinced their education and intentions gives them the absolute moral right to tell everyone else what to do.

Any disagreement is a threat to this unwarranted sense of absolute moral purity, so the person who disagrees must have their moral agency destroyed. Out comes the moral opprobrium terms that we all know, "racist" et al. Once so morally debased, whatever that person says can be safely ignored, because no one listens to Bad People.

I recognized this several years ago, and I see it everywhere. The left really doesn't do anything else these days, they always resort to moral attacks. This is not an new thing, either. I'm sure Karl remembers the famous "Daisy" add from the 1964 Presidential campaign. That was a blatant moral attack on Goldwater.

@Dritizni

You are absolutely correct--nailed it. The appropriate response is also to deny their anointedness to their face and challenge their appropriation of such a position.

(Prolly won't help but, I might feel better...)

The better way to view "chosen people" is to realize the point of salvific intervention of God in human affairs started with Abraham - recorded in Exodus (Abraham believed God and was credited with righteousness).

Then came Isaac > Jacob > the 12 tribes etc etc

Jews have no standing before God that's better or worse than anyone else, God just decided to start there for reasons that aren't ever explained.

I never understand why Christians even entertain the self-anointed chosen description the jews give themselves. They had it and they failed.

I also find it entertaining that non-believers hammer Christians for this verse because it's "exclusionary," while it's crickets for those who say they're chosen for being born.

I sometimes try to answer (a dear Evangelical friend's crap about) "God's Chosen People" with:

Why are you so sure they were not chosen as EXAMPLES OF HOW NOT TO BE? (As in:
"Why can't you be well-behaved like your younger sibs?")

The whole Bible appears to be God trying in frustration and pleading, like a good (if perhaps over-indulgent?) father, to CALL THEM back into good behavior! They always look to lawyer or weasel or lie their way OUT of STOPPING being _astrds to everyone else!

Rewards, fatted calves, OTHER people's lands, etc. etc. and they STILL do not seem interested in BEING good to God, eh?

Av gets it. Also see Jeremiah 2:11. God marvels that the other nations are faithful to their false gods, but Israel has abandoned Him for nothing.

It's hard not to conclude that Israel and his descendants were chosen because they were the worst of the worst, unfaithful, ungrateful, foolish.

God's point seems to be that if He can love and forgive the Israelites there's hope for you.
