Is it all fake and gay?

Well, no.  But the people who run much of the garbage on this day not only dishonor the dead they in addition create more dead, and give license to the further killing.

Do recall that just a few days ago the stenographers, all breathless, pronounced that "climate change, and we, the evil men and women of the planet", were the reason there was going to be a 200mph hurricane in the Atlantic -- Lee.

This morning Lee stands at 120mph, allegedly if you believe the NHC.  The same NHC that claimed a couple of weeks ago that a Cat 3 (and shortly before a Cat 4) struck the Florida Gulf coast despite the eye of said storm going over the government's buoy at Keaton Beach, which I watched happen live on radar, and said buoy recorded this:

Further the land-based damage of a nasty, 120mph+ wind hurricane was, well...... absent.

There was plenty of flooding, but that's to be expected in that area from any tropical system since the land there is very low to the water and people have built up businesses and homes without any material elevation above said water level.  That's a human decision but it has nothing to do with human energy generation using carbon -- except that the A/C system in said building probably relies on same.

We're told that the world is all systemic racism in the United States but a professor was just fired for faking data -- twenty years of said data, six major academic journal articles and the source of over 8,500  citations by other researches were all....... FRAUDS.

This was all ridiculously profitable too: $3.5 million in grants from major organizations and taxpayer funds were received as a result of these "blockbuster" revelations -- all of which were false.

Oh by the way he had a personal stake in these claims, being black himself.

Is that all?  Of course not.  There's also a breathless alleged 'discovery' of a huge lithium deposit along the border of Nevada and Oregon.  Except..... we've known its there for quite a while; its hardly a "discovery."  The reason it hasn't been exploited is that there is no way to do it at an economically reasonable price point without despoiling the environment.  And we're ignoring the elephant in the room with lithium already, which is that there is no economically-reasonable way to recycle the spent batteries using this chemistry, and yet everyone and their brother thinks we should do that rather than use vehicles that don't contain that rather-nasty  one-time-through energy storage device.

This is of course justified with the claim that we are in an "emergency."

But 9/11 was an emergency too, wasn't it?  Indeed; a bunch of nutjobs crashing planes into buildings on purpose is reasonably called an emergency.  3,000 people died as a result, and that would be a qualification as well.

But nobody went to prison for enabling it, did they?  You know, like the Governor of Florida at the time, who was responsible for policies that included giving the hijackers driver licenses despite not being citizens or lawful permanent residents?  Those were the credentials used to buy the tickets and board the aircraft.  Nor did anyone in the FBI or DOJ go to prison for deliberately blowing off the guy down in Venice who, owning a flight simulator, called them to report that a bunch of dudes with towels wrapped around their heads were buying time with cash and didn't want to know how to land a plane.

As if that all wasn't bad enough we didn't jail a President (Boooooosh!) who let a bunch of Saudi citizens leave on private aircraft after the event while the entire US airspace was locked down -- people who, it later was learned, were almost-certainly involved in distributing the funds with which said simulator time and other elements of the plan were funded!

And then, of course, rather than take our wrath out on Saudi Arabia, which was proved to be the source of the funds for such, we instead invented a complete lie that Iraq, which indeed had committed an act of war on Kuwait previously, was going to acquire a nuclear bomb, blows us all to Hell and therefore this justified slaughtering a bunch of people there including a bunch of kids who obviously had nothing to do with any of it even if Iraq had been guilty, which it was not.

You'll have to pardon me if I shrug at this, even though someone I knew quite well at the time escaped being turned into dust or incinerated in the Twin Towers by mere luck of a few hours that day.  The number of insults to anyone of even median intelligence have continued for over 20 years since, including all manner of false claims about the buildings being intentionally blown up, and as I've pointed out in my FAQ and several previous columns anyone running that garbage on my little piece of the Internet will be instantly and permanent banned.

Why?

Because its a convenient foil to avoid taking responsibility for what we all really did do and are responsible for, including letting our government participate in the escape of legitimate co-conspirators in the attacks, refusal to prosecute justice against Saudi Arabia for a debt that remains outstanding for 3,000 American lives, the slaughter of uninvolved children in Iraq in the years that followed and then, having gotten away with all of this for money all manner of even more-serious and more-deadly insults since, including the last three years.

Oh by the way, those last three years have plenty of relevant and involved parties right here in the United States.  How many are under arrest or in prison for their part in it?  That's zero, right?  Somehow I just can't get excited anymore about today when an event with three hundred times the casualty rate, with guilty parties both inside and outside the United States, all of which was very profitable for the "properly connected" whether politically or in various lines of business, has been waved off and swept under the rug.

Yeah, its 9/11 folks.

But given the body count and deliberate destruction of both our economy and people over the last two decades, all on the back of false claims, you'll have to excuse me if I don't consider 3,000 to be a very large number anymore.

When you get down to facts, the facts are -- it isn't.
