If you had any questions remaining -- well, do you have a brain?

“The Turkish government asked Twitter to censor its opponents right before an election and @elonmusk complied — should generate some interesting Twitter Files reporting,” Yglesias wrote.

In response, Mr Musk fumed: “Did your brain fall out of your head, Yglesias? The choice is have Twitter throttled in its entirety or limit access to some tweets. Which one do you want?”

And now we know the framework: As soon as a government threatens to limit access to Twitter if it doesn't do what they want Musk will cave and screw you -- "free speech" be damned.

For once the left and its mouthpieces figured it out:

She said there “is only one brain falling out of one head and that’s Elon’s”, going on to label him “Mr Free-Speech-Until-It-Impacts-My-Money-Shaker”.

Yep.

Oh by the way, this is how he picked his new CEO too.

Which I already covered.  And which I served a 12 hour jail sentence in Twitmo for explaining on Twitter that said pick was one of the prime architects of the near-complete diversionary bill of lies around "countermeasures" for this little public health issue during the last three years.

Said lies killed tens if not hundreds of thousands, including by leading people to believe that if they took the magic jab they were safe to be around those at high risk when in fact they were not.

There is an election coming up here in the United States and there will be more instances of "public emergency" of this sort or that in the future.  Despite the "national security" folks (including the CIA which is forbidden to operate or in any way interfere, clandestinely or otherwise, in the United States) we now know with factual certainty they did interfere in collusion with social media companies when it comes to Hunter's laptop right before the election and thus, beyond reasonable doubt, they interfered in an American election with the full cooperation and extension of every single social media platform and major media company of significance.

Would their not doing so have changed outcomes?  It is not possible to know with certainty.  However it is reasonable to assume that had the entire Russia-Russia-Russia thing Hillary and then Joe Biden ran had been exposed as a scam and Biden was forced to answer regarding the laptop, diary and other materials before the election there is a decent chance that the entire now-known money-running scheme out of China and Romania (along with Ukraine) and the 20-odd (or more) shell companies with no actual legitimate business being conducted might have come to light before the election.

Those who tried to bring any of this forward were immediately banned -- exactly as just happened with Turkey and their election.

Given that we were in the middle of a pandemic which China may well have caused and many of those money flows came from China do you think that might have changed who people voted for?  Would you have voted for a President if there was a reasonable suspicion that he and his family had taken bribes from the believed source of the virus?

It is very probable had this all been aired out prior to the election not only would Biden not be President, for good or bad, but that the entire Russian-Ukraine war and all of the economic dislocation and death that came from it would not have happened either.

Exactly who's brain fell out here folks?

Musk's or YOURS?

Let me remind you that had Biden not been elected the gasoline and natural gas price spike of the last two years would definitely not have happened.  We'd probably still be facing crazy inflation in virtually everything else because it was Trump's nutso spending policies with regard to the pandemic that was the root cause of said inflation and while Biden made it worse he didn't start it -- Trump did.

But this issue doesn't end with just Turkey or what happened in the past with Biden, the election and the pandemic.  Someone I know who is of a fair bit of note in the financial world posted a factual statement about our current HHS secretary and was banned for that.  Despite Musk saying he would reverse all those prior bans hers stands today as she will not retract her factual statement.

The reality of so-called social media is that the way it is "sold" to you is a fraud.  It is not a virtual town square where you and your "friends" can have a conversation on whatever, and whoever happens by can overhear it and add their own voices to the conversation, limited only by the reasonable boundaries of law.

It is in fact a place where you are conned into participation under said false pretense that is a "virtual town square" but it is clear that as soon as you veer away from posting cute kitty pictures and attempt to debate the issues of the day that is absolutely not true.  Whatever "certain people" do not want discussed will not be, and if you violate that you will be thrown out of the alleged "public square" -- even though your speech is absolutely within lawful boundaries.

In the end I dont see how Twitter survives except as the plaything of a billionaire who can subsidize it. Musk paid $44B. At 5% interest thats over $2B a year. Does he get that much for advertising and blue check marks? Whats the growth potential? Most Twitter users are bots or freeloaders. The young have been programmed not to pay for anything.

I check Twitter for quick links to articles I want to read. If Twitter isnt available I will go elsewhere.

Musk, like Bezos who owns the WP, wants a media outfit that he can use for his purposes. And he will set the policies and they dont entail completely free speech. Like any politician he will claim that his purposes are noble. I dont look to Musk for anything good.

Preaching to the choir appears to be the only speech allowed anymore just about anywhere. It is almost as if reading material that doesn't somehow get your blood boiling is not worth the time and effort to read it.

Definite reasons exist for me appearing here at this website. Explicit lines are drawn for what is allowed and users are free to pursue to discover the absolute limits of those lines. The owner uses discretion when bouncing rule breakers but to my knowledge has fully and openly cited specific reasoning when needing to do so.

Heated debate is very enjoyable when it occurs as it grows my mind.

Musk is Musk because he relies on various governments for subsidies for all of his businesses. EVs, solar, rockets, etc. etc. etc.

He can bark all he wants....but he knows not to bite the hand that feeds.

And he won't.

The funny thing is that Twitter has been used by the department of state to instigate regime change, color revolutions and general unrest all over the globe since the Arab Spring in 2010 (and probably before that). Twitter may very well be censoring Victoria Nuland, Samantha Power et. al. It's hard to serve two masters. I assume it's even harder to serve dozens.

@Tickler

Precisely, critical thinking is not encouraged, mass compliance is.

Market-Ticker is indeed a sanity refuge in this worldwide madness.

I'm far less concerned about Musk or SM in general censoring speech than I am with stupid people who don't have 3 functioning brain-cells to make their own decision based on information available.

Well, except @Smokeyblonde13 that this is an act of fraud when presented as "truth" and when done for monetary or political gain it meets the definition of a criminal act.

If the CIA is involved on American soil it meets the definition of "you all ought to be shot in the face, right now, including every single person involved whether private enterprise or government" because it is facially illegal as the CIA is PROHIBITED from doing so in the United States and always has been, which was in fact the predicate on which the CIA was ALLOWED to be created in the first place.

It always amazes me that every time the media pumps up the new savior, seems like every 6 months its someone new, that the sheep suck that dick so fucking hard. Then the savior sticks up their ass, only to have the sheep suck a new saviors dick. Repeat at least twice a year. It never fails!! Every time!! How the sheep cannot see this is way the fuck beyond me. Yeah. Im jaded and have given up hope. Fuck musk and fuck the sheep for believing in any of these clowns.

Once again I will remind everyone here. Elon Musk's businesses are dependent on direct or indirect government subsidies. His businesses are not true free market operations. Viewed within this context, it is only to be expected that he will cave in to censorship requests on the part of governments.

However, this Turkish case cannot be blamed on our political class as our political class favors Erdogen's opponent. It was Mr. "democracy is a street car you ride to your stop and you get off" himself that pressured Twitter to censor in this case.

Why anyone on this forum still maintains a Twitter account is a mystery to me. Aren't you knowingly participating in the fraud?

Remember that Elon Musk himself also attended that WEF "young leaders" group. In fact, that's probably where he first met the lady he has now hired as CEO of Twitter.

WEF's "young leader" association is the WEF's version of an executive MBA program. It was first established in the early 90's. If you include all the alumni of this program along with WEF members, you come up with around 4400 individuals. I think if these 4400, including Musk and his new Twitter CEO, simply disappeared, the world would be a much better place.

Youd have to be a hermit living alone in the woods to even have a chance of not participating in the fraud ar some level.

(But, no, I have no interest in Twitter ever,as well)

As @Dingleberry and @Abelardlindsey point out Musk is a walking government subsidy. He will not do anything. The feds run all of social media. Whitney Webb wrote a great article about how Facebook was started the day the feds shut down another social media/monitoring program. Snowden also revealed the government back door into google among others. They really are watching to see who might act out when this giant Ponzi scam unravels.

Absolutely true, and if Trump had gotten a second term it would have been go to economic war with China for covid to shift blame for all the damage U.S. politicians did from top to bottom. Never mind that the entire thing was a Fauci operation in cooperation with China. Would that have been better than Biden? Anything would have been better than Biden, ffs. However, in the end seems like one of the few worthwhile things Trump did was appoint Powell.

We had to know the entire thing was a ruse early on when within 2 weeks they pulled the CARES Act out of their ass, which means they had it all ready to go just like the Patriot Act in 2001 and were just itching for a justification, and this time the only person of notoriety to oppose it publicly was Rep. Massie. For his trouble, Massie was excoriated by almost every other prominent member of Congress, all of the mainstream news media, and especially by Trump. They wouldn't even tolerate one dissenting voice to rain on their spending parade. Because if the vote is unanimous, the resulting damage is no one's fault. The only other prominent "anti-wasteful spending" legislator Rand Paul, conveniently got "covid" and didn't even cast a vote on CARES.

Mainstream social media is nothing but narrative control. It's a place for "normal" people to go in order to feel isolated because they can only conclude that most other people are completely nuts. It's not REAL. Sure, there is more good stuff on there since Elon "took over", but that's just to keep more normal people engaged, and not so disgusted that they never go on social media again. If they do that, the official narrative dies, because the control part goes out the window.

Elon 'limited hangout' Musk Oil is just doin' what most fat cats do. Some credit to Elon though: he opened up the platform for Vex Truthers. FACT: the best weapon We have against Them (TPTB) on changing minds, is illumination of the Shamdemic psyop and Vex harms/deaths, so for that I think the benefit of Elon buying Twatter far outweighs him occasionally caving in to pressure from govt's. For that alone he's exceeded my default cynical expectations. Plus, he's kinda qualifying it (albeit in a childish way), by saying "what do you want, SOME freedom, or none? How about some credit for what I've done!" which, although petulant approval-seeking (ala Trump), at least he's being honest. Remember, this is a guy that Tweeted his pronouns are "Prosecute/Fauci". Way before he bought Twatter, I recall him Tweeting about his PCR COVID test results (2 positive, 2 negative) and that obviously the PCR platform was bogus. Yet he hires a Davos-reptile Vexxine psyopper to run it... still trying to figure out that one, but again, he's done some good where it really counts, like the Twatter Files stuff he dumped, exposing how the censorship sausage is made, so overall he's getting a 7 out of 10 on my scorecard. Also, this whole "Elon isn't perfect, no one is coming to save us" is naive at best. What'd y'all expect(?), and thinking a social media site is going to save your country is moronic. Make a sign, organize, and peacefully protest for the scalps that are killing your kids with the Jabs. Erdogan schmerdogan, who gives a fuck which Clown World NATO Muppet gets in there?

The Jabs COULD be the bridge to far for Them, IF all you 'Merikans would get off your asses and 'get some'.
