I've been banned from my local secretary of state for 3 years and had to be escorted by a govt goon to all other offices for 1 year because I exercised my first amendment right. I've also been escorted out of Menards, Target, Walmart, Sherwin Williams and countless bars & restaurants for refusing to wear a mask and exercising my first amendment right.

It's human nature to act like an elite if you believe you are one. Most people give into it. I've been on the board of a few volunteer organizations including kids sports. Even at that level I'd see people who joined the board & suddenly they knew better than the regular folks. Oh yes, buy dinner for the board with donations while we're "meeting"; change policies just because even though the old ones still work, forbid certain things because parents are annoying and they need to be contained.
I got so sick of it that not only did I quit volunteering, I quit going to meetings.

I creep around Twatter to gauge the awareness factor on different things, Coof/Vex illumination mostly right now. Since Elon has loosened things up, lots of data and anecdotal outrage about the Vex harms and deaths on there. Pretty encouraging. Seems like a lot of people are hip to what's going on, but will they get off the couch and mass-protest like they should? I doubt it. Whatever Elon is though, and I don't really care, he's helping on that issue, and that's good, regardless which pro-Jab Davos-reptile-propagandist he puts in there to run it.
I dig the whole "the medium is the message" thing, I see the potential, but most of Twatter is just wannabe news aggregators, sometimes-witty one or two liner cultural critique, some good memes, and the rest a bunch of echo chamber long-haulers, reality show narcissist types, and keyboard warriors. The Clown World mockery is fun, but gets old quick. I suppose if I was an author lookin' to sell books I'd have to play around on there. In terms of real change-agency though, I think social media (incl. the uncensored sites) is overrated, so I hang out here 'cuz I really dig Karl's qualified rage, prescience, smarts, legacy, and granular, evidentiary excorcisms. Europe has always been colonial, and it still is. It's a Marxist shitpile which produces nothing. That's where the old money of the world comes from, they've been coasting for the past several hundred years on financial vapor. Its only expertise is manipulation and narrative control. The aristocracy still has a feudalistic mindset. You will eet zee bugs! How dare you think you can travel around the world, you should live in a box! They think China are their worker bees, Eastern Europe, Russia and Africa is there to provide them with commodities, and America is the muscle enforcing it all (I don't buy the narrative that Europe is a vassal state to the USA...that's just more European propaganda to create hatred for the USA so Europe can escape blame). Well, fuck them, fuck their colonies, and fuck their continent.

I used to think that's exactly what they want, and that's how they win by making anything but violence the option. I'm not so sure anymore. They let violent animals roam free, all the while prosecute and ruin people defending themselves from violent animals. This is my current mindset -- if anyone is able, do exactly what the universe wants you and every living thing to do if attacked -- DEFEND YOURSELF. It's why it gave you adrenaline in the first place. And even if you think you aren't able, just go watch a honey badger video and see what a dose of ferocious mindset can do to a more powerful attacker. It's another little trick nature gives us all, the attacker doesn't want to get hurt either. They might just reconsider and hope to find an easier prey somewhere else.
What the "law" is or is not, is irrelevant in these matters of personal safety. Start by not calling the police afterwards. Leave them where you find them, and walk away calmly.
