Ah, the fish are biting today.... but who are they biting?  The man in the back of the boat?  Maybe...... more from Ishmael..... -- Ed

Today’s guest Ticker is another postmortem on the Coof Wars.  Technically, since people are still dying suddenly, we’re in the bonus round.  Some decisions echo through decades, lockdowns and Operation Warp speed are two of them.

Studying the past is a tool to predict how the next battle will be fought.  I make no predictions on what it will be.  It could be another riot season that turns into urban warfare, RussiaRussiaRussia, or even aliens.  At this point, I almost welcome our outer space overlords.

Clown world attempts to supplant reality by first changing people’s thoughts.  Our minds are potent weapons so they must be neutralized. One tactic is disinformation.

As I went down more and more rabbit holes gathering information for the Guard Your Mind series, one thing became very clear: the way they shoveled bull**** at us is nothing new. Lies have been with us since the beginning of time, they are just getting more sophisticated and coordinated parallel to technology.

H. Michael Sweeney wrote the seven traits of disinformation practitioners in 1997, and updated it in 2000.  They describe the characteristics of an attack on truth and provide a good analysis framework.  When these characteristics appear centered around an event, we may have found the next battlefront.

The sooner we catch on, the sooner we mount a counterattack and win.  Or at least provide a suitable speedbump to protect our children and grandchildren.  Knowledge is power.

Sweeney wrote his guidelines after observing behavior on Internet newsgroups.  Today, the equivalent is the comments section or Reddit.  However, I am going to expand his use by applying seven out of eight traits to the gaslighting campaign we’ve endured for three years, two months, and counting.

During the Coof Wars, sometimes we observed individual people act:  Fraudchi, Walensky, a string of press secretaries.  The characteristics also apply to organizations like the CDC, WHO, mainstream media, and social media.

Factual information was actively attacked and suppressed.  Things that later proved to be true were viciously attacked initially. The list of targets was remarkably consistent across the world, platforms, and the news.  The pure tin was mostly left alone.  We saw this repeated pattern as they cherry picked faulty studies and ignored those that supported the truth.

This is an example of selectivity.

Sweeney wrote..

Selectivity. They tend to pick and choose opponents carefully…focusing heavier attacks on key opponents who are known to directly address issues…

Another characteristic is avoidance.  It’s worth noting throughout the gaslighting we’ve endured, the enemy’s arguments have almost no actual substance beyond discrediting studies that don’t fit the official narrative.  Their arguments all boil down to, “We’re right because trust Teh Science and you’re wrong.''

Sweeney wrote..

Avoidance. They never actually discuss issues head-on or provide constructive input, generally avoiding citation of references or credentials. Rather, they merely imply this, that, and the other…

I do take exception to someone providing credentials as support for their position.  After the past three years, it takes more than a medical degree to convince me you know anything about human health.

A third common characteristic is the enemy statements were anti-conspiratorial.

Sweeney wrote..

Anti-conspiratorial. They almost always have disdain for 'conspiracy theorists'...

I prefer the term “coming attractions.”

Today’s example is a paper published on the National Institutes of Health website.  Remember them?  They likely funded the original research that gave us two years of lockdowns, vacation in place, and an increased death rate. Characteristics of Misinformation Spreading on Social Media During the COVID-19 Outbreak in China: A Descriptive Analysis was published May 10, 2021.

The people who wrote it are so arrogant they didn’t care they provided both an explanation of what they did, and a roadmap for future propaganda attacks.

Their plan is best summed up with this little gem from the end (emphasis added):

Chen, et al wrote..
If credible experts were to use these social media platforms, the effective delivery of high-quality information and the correction of misinformation before and during health-related crises could be achieved, as well as a further reduction in the amount of misinformation circulating on social media.

They mention pushing information out in advance of a crisis in a throwaway comment. Maybe some of those theories of a plandemic weren't so crazy.

Speaking of plans (emphasis added)…

Chen, et al wrote..

"Thus, one of the ways to eliminate hotbeds of misinformation is to offer continuously targeted and accurate information in advance based on predictions of the prospective COVID-19 outbreak situation.

So much for “trusting the science.”  Since when is science settled in advance and reported to the public as fact instead of speculation?  Oh wait, we live in clown world.

It’s just as well the definition of science changed, we are too stupid to think for ourselves.

Chen, et al wrote..

In the context of the universal audience, vague and abstract messages are a prerequisite…providing specific instructions predicated on the elite’s perspective of what all rational people would accept as fact is not effective. A shift to the approach enabling each particular audience to participate in the process of establishing interacting arguments is more productive...

Naturally the paper's recommendations include censorship online and manipulation.

Chen, et alI wrote..
If traditional beliefs are difficult to “overturn”, a better strategy is to “permeate.” First, health experts can use a gradual method to change a specific group’s health behaviors…Changing a specific group’s health behavior first will guide the public to understand a scientific health perception, which can be regarded as a premise for changing everyone’s health behavior…strictly penalize social media when they create or disseminate misinformation maliciously.

What were some targeted statements this paper called fiction that later evidence supported?

*The unknown pneumonia in Wuhan is the SARS virus.

*Lopinavir/ritonavir can effectively remedy COVID-19. (Note: Paxilovid contains ritonavir.  According to the official narrative, it is a safeandeffective treatment.  Call this one a clown world true.)

*COVID-19 is an evolution of the SARS virus.

    *The coronavirus is synthetic.

*The coronavirus originated from the United States. (Note: There’s evidence Duke University was involved, some support this one is true.)

The recommended punishment for repeating any of the statements on social media was suppression and banhammer. Even though this was a Chinese paper, America followed the same playbook. Remember when China was a terrible place for human rights violations, not a country to emulate?

For a more complete list of wrongthink, check out Facebook’s Covid 19 policy

As soon as social media is invoked, we should look for another Sweeney trait.

Sweeney wrote..
Teamwork. They tend to operate in self-congratulatory and complementary packs or teams…there will likely be an ongoing pattern of frequent exchanges of this sort where professionals are involved…

Social media platforms all targeted the same statements in the same way.  The lamestream media hopped right in line, too.  To emphasize, many of these “dangerous misinformation” later proved accurate.

Remember the first fear campaign? Maaaaasssssssssskkkks.

Originally they didn’t help at all, because the US had none stockpiled. Then they were the only hope for human survival, but we still had none. Therefore, all peasants had to risk their lives by breathing freely in order to save nurses dancing in empty hospital wings.  Finally they expected us to wear tard rags everywhere.

This is an example of inconsistency.

Sweeney wrote..
Inconsistent. There is also a tendency to make mistakes which betray their true self/motives. This may stem from not really knowing their topic, or it may be somewhat 'freudian'...

The science didn’t change.  Neil Orr studied masks in the 1980s.  They don’t do anything except make you look like a moron.

The inconsistent way the message on masks was presented was part of the gas lighting campaign.  Terrify everyone with imminent death, create the illusion of scarcity, require a rare item for safety, and you produce a gullible public who can’t virtue signal fast enough.  The same scarcity tactic was used with clot shots.

Remember this the next time you’re told that if you don’t Do Something, you're going to die.  This applies to Russia and raising the debt ceiling.

Looking at cold and flu season rationally, there is no reason to be terrified.  It happens every year.  Yet in early 2020, coincidentally the CDC and WHO started freaking out. Hmmm.

Sweeney wrote..
Coincidental. They tend to surface suddenly and somewhat coincidentally with a new controversial topic with no clear prior record of participation in general discussions in the particular public arena involved.

When an ordinary event (flu season) is suddenly worthy of a press conference, social media thought policing, and a fear campaign, look for the why instead of what they say. If the why makes no sense in context of what they are saying, you hear disinformation.

Sweeney’s final trait is almost a gimme in political arenas.  A lot of these people are pure evil, possibly psychopathic.  How many times did you notice how fake one of the talking heads sounded?  Or that beneath the façade of normalcy they were getting off on a power trip?

Sweeney wrote..
Artificial Emotions. An odd kind of 'artificial' emotionalism and an unusually thick skin -- an ability to persevere and persist even in the face of overwhelming criticism and unacceptance…

Noting these disinformationalist features is another tool for guarding your mind.  It is your most valuable asset, stay safe out there folks!  We need mental sharpness for the next battle, which is coming sooner than any of us want.

Disinformation is where Confusion reigns.
Shake your yead in a conversation usually a reason exists and best not make a hasty decision resulting from this interaction.

Should I ever cross the line it probably will be inadvertent and I sure expect a crowd of you will be cheering for the big hammer to come smashing down. In the event this does happen, I have one request that this would be an extraordinary sendoff so the crowd will be well entertained. No, on my bar admittance I presume as I wouldn't have any time to read let alone contribute.

Same. I'm actually going through a disagreement with someone right now who's trying to use his credentials as evidence of his point while calling all my evidence wrong.
Congratulations, you've proven your credentials worthless.

Credentialism is a cheap substitute for actually investigating whether someone is full of **** or not.

The problem with it isn't just that the credential may have been issued without demonstration of competence -- it is that they are often used as a cudgel by someone who is intentionally lying.

I've seen this -- including, in more than one case, a person who was effectively taking bribes rather than performing objective analysis in their decisions, and said decisions were believed to be based on facts simply because they had a PhD.

I remember back in 2020 how everyone was so freaked out and I wasn't sure what to think until Lord Fauci was asked about dating and masks. He stated that sure it was ok to meet someone online and have sex with them so long as you both wore masks. That was the moment for me to call bull**** knowing he was not only lying to us, but had some sort of agenda.

Best book in my Q1 reading, The Hounds of Actaeon: The Magical Origins of Public Relations and Modern Media. Mauricio Loza, (Washington, 2020)

Traces the art and science of manipulating and binding public awareness from practitioners such as Giordano Bruno during the Renaissance to hypnosis and Mesmer through our modernists such as Edward Bernays, Wilhelm Reich, Guy Debord, into our own digitalized days from Norbert Weiner's Cybernetics to utopians like John Perry Barlow, and the current Russian master of mind ****ery, Vladislav Surkov.

Bruno and Reich paid the price, the former burned as a heretic, the latter died in jail. The point here is that there is a long tradition where a science was considered a dark art of magic. The techniques are all racing forward to keep ahead of critical thinkers, whistle blowers, and those with plain common sense.

To understand the media is to appreciate McLuhan's law, the medium is the message.

and so is the mRNA...

Credentialism or the appeal to authority is just about the oldest logical fallacy in the books. I'm right because of who I am.

Having the right credentials means you might have the tools and background to render a meaningful opinion. Then again, you might not. Does your university hand out degrees based on diversity criteria? At any point in your education did you ever develop an independent thought or did you just regurgitate what your teachers told you to think?

Likewise a lack of credentials doesn't preclude someone from building the knowledge base and skills needed to evaluate data and draw meaningful conclusions from it.

If your reasoning and facts are sound, you don't need to flaunt your credentials to support it. You put your sources, data, and analysis out there and defend them based on their merits, not yours.

@Ndp said "Credentialism or the appeal to authority is just about the oldest logical fallacy in the books."

Exactly. Appeal to authority, and appeal to expertise, are just logical fallacies designed to avoid a detailed discussion of the topic, which might lead to a different conclusion.

This understanding led to one of my rules for living:
"Employ experts, don't worship them."

Excellent article.

When Ishmael says:

"one thing became very clear: the way they shoveled bull**** at us is nothing new. Lies have been with us since the beginning of time, they are just getting more sophisticated and coordinated parallel to technology."

... it actually had a calming effect on me, because the full-spectrum global coordination and collusion on the Shamdemic and "Get Vexxed" psyops between govt's, NGO's, the Mainstream Disinfodustrial Complex, Hollyweird, BigTech and BigWhatever (pharma, mega-corps), is staggering to me and my brain trust. Still, the Vex injuries and Thuddenly's are a globally-embargoed topic (although the dam looks like it's starting to leak a bit).

It all feels like all-out war on us Plebeians (maybe part of the War on Populism?) and the absurd level They're willing to go to running cover for it is mind-blowing. It's almost like They WANT us to know how full of sh!t They are, and us knowing is designed to induce a feeling of utter helplessness. Or maybe a Hegelian 'Problem, Reaction, Solution' dialectic to rook all these govt's into their own self-destruction with the Vexdemic, and then offer up a new global governmental paradigm? Rabbit hole, yeah, but there must be a reason beyond just Pharma profits. Not enough $cratch when compared to the risk, and the IFR data SHOULD have made this a risk-benefit no-brainer for anyone making policy. No fk'n way Pharma has that much global leverage over EVERYONE at the pinnacles of global power.

Then, the Six Million Dollar DisinfoWars Question: Elon Musk. The Mil-Space Industrial Complex Free Speech change-agent, that's almost too good to be true. A limited hangout Hopium muppet, or the Real Deal? Twitter is aflame with Vexxine Truther data and outrage, and he's opened the books showing how the censorship sausage is made. Maybe unfiltered Truth is the next big no-brainer high-margin investment? Seems like it's working for Rogan's and Tucker's bank accounts...

The safest approach is to assume that what you are being told/sold is a lie and only back off of that assumption if the source is capable of providing some evidence that what they are saying/selling is true. In most cases they can't and won't.

I fired off a couple more expletive laden missives to YouTube today for the stupid "Context" links that they attached to the videos I was watching. The gist of my responses were that the fact that they need to attach such bull**** proved that the sources they were linking to were nothing but LIES. Google and YouTube need to be destroyed with fire smiley

Appeal to authority has been substantially broadened by CELEBRITY. Advertising seized this early on. Downstream from CELEBRITY are MODELS. The digital world has combined the two to create a new category appropriately named INFLUENCERS.

Obviously none of these three have any greater standing than any other individual. The magical component, that is, the science driven technique to bind the vulnerable is via VISUAL ICONS. Most particularly, the vulnerable are invited to trance/enhance their psyche by engaging with the eyes of the ICON.

Religious art from the medieval period onward was well aware of the "binding to belief" power of the ICON. Orthodox Christianity explicitly calls devotional pictures ICONS.

Karl, the rates of Head and Neck cancer that I am seeing, plus what my colleagues are seeing, is UNBELIEVABLE.

Just last week I saw 4 cancers, two of the tonsil, one of the tongue, and one salivary gland. All these patients are vaxxed and boosted. It used to take me 2-3 months to see that much cancer. Not only that, these cancers are super aggressive.

As I said, my colleagues are all astonished as well. This issue is getting worse fast.

Of course, no one but me is willing to state the obvious. You take an experimental drug, you can expect the possibility of nasty side effects.

Finding out things you didn't know would happen is the point of doing experiments.

A positive LGE finding six months later is very, very bad news.

I want to say that I've been enjoying reading what Ishmael has been putting out but that would be a lie. I don't enjoy reading how so many people have been gaslighted, lied to, manipulated, and outright killed all in the name of the almighty dollar, power, and control. It is necessary reading however b/c unless and until we all face these facts and find them to be self-evident, that it actually and still is, quite honestly, occurring we can never move forward to stop it from happening again.

I wish everything would start moving at that infamous "speed of science" that they talked about with the Pfizer jab rollout to the European Union so that people's eyes would be opened and their blinders removed and those responsible could be hauled off to whatever fate awaited them.

I have more and more people commenting to me now about health problems that they have seen in other friends and family members. A lot of the ones standing out for me are neurological problems affecting leg motor control and pain, as well as, horrendous spring allergies that are sending people to the ER with difficulty breathing. My husband is one of those who's having problems to the point that we bought an air purifier this weekend to see if it would help. It seems to have improved his breathing but now he suspects he has a sinus infection as well... I started him on Vitamin C 3x a day earlier this week but if I'm not there to give it to him he won't take it and he left yesterday for a business trip and won't be back till tomorrow. He will never acknowledge that the 3 shots he took are causing his problems now. Any mention by me that that is the reason even obliquely will put his dander up even further and make him even more stubbornly refuse the stupid shots could have anything to do with his problem so I'm not even going to go there. Not worth my time or my energy.

Now his mom is having problems. She passed out in church on Sunday and was rushed to the hospital where they first said they thought she had a heart attack but the tests came back negative for that so they have no clue what caused it. She's gotten at least 4 shots if not 5 and think they are phenomenal. I don't even bother talking to her about it since she'll never believe me over her son.

I want things back the way they were but with smarter, stronger, people who won't be so easily led and manipulated in the future...people instead of sheeple...

@Abelardlindsey

Per Google:

Myocarditis has a 10% fatality rate after 1 year, and a 50% fatality rate after 5 yrs.

Two ad hoc test groups, cohorts in Puerto Rico and I think West Virginia(?) Vexxed people came back 39% and 42% positive for myocarditis respectively.

This is gonna go from bad, to really, really sh!tty for a lot of people.

Plus, apparently neoplasm cancer mortality is up 20% currently from before the Vex rollout, and rising. Oncologists are anecdotally freaking out (the ones brave enough enough to chirp).

Neurological: all kinds of disturbing data and neurologists chirping too.

Yeah... "Get Vexxinated!"
