Trust that we will go back to HIPPA. There will be a tacit acknowledgment that we strayed from it and it will become reenforced to specifically prohibit inquiring or discriminating based on vax status. 100% plausible.

What an asshole! The anti-toxxine position has gone from the weakest to the strongest!?? It was always the strongest.

He condescendingly trivializes the rationales behind not taking this shit. It's only because of not trusting anything the government says, is his insulting position. While I believe that is a healthy attitude, that reduces the anti-toxxine position to a simplistic rationale.

I guess he is suffering financially and is trying, poorly, to win back some of his fan base.

What a dick.

Adams is only in the second stage of grief. It will be amusing to watch him painfully stumble through the last three if he makes it that long.

Karl, i don't know if you remember. Few years before this whole COVID-BS, i call it BC, wrote a few comments here that people who kept any illness off their medical files and kept their health in good stead and appearance would own the employment world with the problems coming anyway "BC", regardless of age.

Employers were facing many of these problems and making such decisions anyway.

Given what @Bluto just wrote, another thing for which you and i both advocate, there will be a sweet spot between not needing much money to live well and having few obligations.

I was already able to "sell" myself long BC due to the fact that my COL was well below most of any age. So, people looking to hire me or perhaps engage professional services would have been able to get at a very fair price decades of highly competent experience, a work ethic, great attitude and someone who although sporting a nasty illness NEVER gets sick or works sub-optimally. Meanwhile younger than me were on the stent and chest cracked open plan along with always being in a depressed state. Hell, i could run circles around Millennials then and Zs now in terms of ability and raw physical energy and overall get-up-and-go. Actually have had to train myself to be lazy over these past years to keep myself from getting used or taken for granted if for some reason i decide to work for someone or some entity or overwork myself.

So now the position of fuck you is that much stronger, however be cautious.

There is always a balance as @Bluto correctly brings up. Once must be in control of his COL and expenditures and attitude. Any one can sink this plan.

It is a balance. Simply tipped a little more in our favor due to others fucking themselves over just a little more.

Remember though that people who are fucked over are a drain on the economy in more ways than one. It is not going to be RAW, "fucking give me a 50% or whatever raise," as a company or individual employer might not have the business to give even if he wanted to do so.

It should simply be a serene sense that one has a nice balance of control and more security than others. And, my hard advice which is usually NOT the thing to do.

Find a place or position that could not usually afford to have you or in the past might have considered you overqualified. If you have a great and kind attitude, they are going to be thrilled to have all of the extras you bring along with the above reliability, health, etc. I was in two places BC where they could not do enough for me. These were positions completely outside of my areas of expertise but were enhanced by long business experience. At the first, i did not purchase work food and many days surrounding for six years. They were constantly bringing and giving me stuff. Had all of the time off that i could ever want. Bags of cash tips were a constant. I almost forgot how to use electronic money. Second place, there was my pay, and then MY PAY which was constantly giving me bonuses for helping them make more money. Both jobs i on average worked three days a week and could easily pay all of my bills and then some.

Why the above? My attitude, work ethic and having my house (literally too) in order and in control of finances.

Funny how so many things i was saying here over the years have now come true.

@Budxr7 -- they will always know and always be able to find out. And, this is so much fun ...

Just need to look at someone to know he is fucked.

Sick and weak people are an open book.

Very few people who carry a condition as serious as mine have a fire in the eyes and a get-up-and-go way. Even if someone figures out i have something or knows, they have no problem reconciling that it is not an issue for me, quite the opposite. How fucking many can ever say this.

There is something to be said for good clean living.

This is going to be fun.

Ever work just for fun? I can tell you that it is thrilling. Now especially when the employer knows that once it is not fun ... bye.

There are things more valuable than money, such as being happy and stress free in all things.

Frugality gives you optionality.

Ever wanted to try something new but couldn't afford the time? The ability to trade your labor in a type of apprentice role is invaluable for learning something that you would otherwise not have easy access to.

I had an Irish friend who had a saying "the smallest leak eventually drains the biggest barrel." This applies equally to all of life's resources, time, money, energy, patience, etc.

Good points made by Bluto and WH as well.

Clot Adams didn't say we were right; he said we won. Big difference.
He has always couched values in this manner.
He framed his analysis of Trump this way.
He has shown his hand as to his personal morals and ethics.
To him, being right doesn't matter, only winning does.
He thinks he is being clever by feigning defeat.
Now he gets to signal his virtue for doing so; it is simply another form of conceit, a way to curry favor, and "win back" his lost base.
I want to hear him say you were right and I was wrong.
I think we will hear that he has suck started a shotgun before he ever admits to being wrong.
See, he is just too cool, just like Fonzie.

I didnt NOT take the shot out of distrust of the govt. I didnt take the shot because of my analysis of likely efficacy of the shot plus the work KD put out. For him to dismiss well reasoned, well researched decisions as lucky guess heuristics is another condescending comment. Now that the evidence is clear that the shot should never have been approved, I wouldnt trust the govt for ANY health guidance going forward. That loss of trust is entirely on them.

I know very few people who refused the jab and viewed their decision as anything other than a risk:benefit calculation which, by the own determination and metric, fell on the "more risk than benefit" side.

This is why the anti-vax pejorative is so irritating. I have degrees in statistics and mathematics. My education and every job I've had for 25 years have centered on evaluating evidence, detecting patterns in data, and using data to predict outcomes.

For three years I've obsessed over covid and vaccine studies, what they measured, how they measured it, and perhaps most importantly what they failed to measure (or report on).

By the way, our host here is probably the best I've ever seen at finding the key patterns in the data and understanding where to focus. That takes both instincts and training. I learned to do it with time and training. Karl has a gift for it that has clearly been honed to a razor edge.

I followed the analyses posted on this site and did my own reading and research. Early on i concluded that my personal risk from covid was quite small. Early vax trials and evidence did and could not prove efficacy and safety. As more time passed, efficacy proved to be a farce and safety an ever growing nightmare.

My decision to avoid the covid shot makes me anti-vaccination about like my decision to eschew surgery on my healthy knees makes me anti-orthopedic surgery.

Exactly. Your reporting (along with a few other independent news sources) of the 10+ years required to prove the efficacy and safety for a new vaccine made up my mind to not get the jab. I wanted no part of a jab that was 'approved' in about one year.

What a snide, sniveling little prick! So, we "got lucky"?

No, bitch, we stepped back, took some deep breaths, looked at who was calling the shots -pun intended-the usual (((suspects))) , read what we could on the available material (h/t Karl), and made a cost/benefit analysis.

Not that fucking hard, asshole!

As for me, I'm enjoying drinking in the sweet taste of your salty tears, mother fucker! You and the rest of your fellow brown shirts who made my life a living hell for two plus years.

Personal anecdote: Just got back from playing cards with a friend who is 50 years old, ultra lib, Fully vaxxed, three kids (ages 10, 5, and 1), and a partner.

Surprisingly, he recently quit drinking after a severe bout with a stomach flu. I happened to tell him about the recent "died suddenly" of Diamond and Silk sister Silk and how Diamond cryptically stated "don't call me a conspiracy theorist. somebody's gotta answer about this poison...all these folk died suddenly..."

Trump, the weasel, denied knowing Silk, despite numerous pictures of them together and him appearing on their show-which I caught as often as possible.

Anyhow, this friend responded, "well, I think natural immunity has all but disappeared for us now. Now we'll have to get shots to ward off any new disease coming down the pike.

I kept my mouth shut, when I felt like saying, "maybe for you, beeyatch, but my immunity is just fine, thanks very much."

I hope to God they didn't vax the kids. Didn't even want to ask.

If Scott hadn't been such a smug Dick-head, he wouldn't have to be eating such a large amount of crow now.
I remember watching some of his stuff and one of his main arguments was "You don't know, I don't know, no one really knows....".
The problem with that is that is you *always* have to make decisions in the face of some level of uncertainty.

Quote:
You therefore are demanding that the public accept unknown and unknowable risks in trade for an unknown and unknowable degree of protection over an unknown period of time.

Bingo! For those who got covid and got over it, the value of vaccine was effectively ZERO.
But the RISK of the vaccine was ???

It bothers me if I have to trade a known for an unknown.
Apparently it didn't bother Scott that much.

He "outsmarted" himself like daffy duck.

I was watching the Bills vs the Bengals game today, and there was a couple short shots of Damar Hamlin, or, someone. No clear ID possible. One shot, some dude you could barely make out, hood up and big funky glasses on, gets out of a cart very quickly, with the announcers proclaiming "Damar is here!". Was in the video for only a couple seconds, with a super fast exit off screen. Second shot was the same guy, up in a skybox, hood up and barely visible through the snow. I couldn't say with any certainty it was him. It could have been anyone, really. Felt like obvious subterfuge to me. Didn't see any O2 hoses or tanks. Aren't those skybox suites heated? Hood up because it was cold, or to prevent us from seeing who it was?
