Said Chuckie:

“Now more than ever, we’re short of workers. We have a population that is not reproducing on its own with the same level that it used to. The only way we’re going to have a good future in America is if we welcome and embrace immigrants, the Dreamers, and all of them, ‘cause our ultimate goal is to help the Dreamers but get a path to citizenship for all 11 million or however many undocumented that are here, and we will be pursuing that in the next Senate, in the Senate, the comprehensive immigration reform,” he said.

Well Chuck, that's because you've ruined incentives.

Chuck Schumer, as a powerful sitting Senator, is personally responsible in part for said ruination.  So are the other sitting Senators.  So have been the last several Presidents, including Trump and, at least, all the way back to Clinton.

When you ignore the border and bring in millions of people who work off the books and thus suppress wages you undercut the desire of Americans to produce children.  Thinking people consider whether they'll be able to raise a child with their own resources before choosing to make said child.  Unthinking people, specifically those incapable of higher thought processes or worse, psychopaths, don't care.  The problem here should be obvious in that both of those groups are incapable of productive output themselves.

The early 1980s inflation destroyed the two-parent, one-earner single-family home.  That destruction was deliberate; rather than tell the Arabs to stick it in their ass and mean it we instead forced women into the workforce and away from children and hearth.  Then we pedaled a rank lie: You can have it all girl, motherhood, career, a rich husband and lots of pearls without giving up anything.

This has always been and always will be crap.  All choices have costs and anyone trying to tell you otherwise is in fact arguing you should be given a capacity and impetus to steal.

It cannot be otherwise.

Allowing the medical scheme to go from 3-4% of GDP to roughly 20% is a 15% tax on your real spendable income, assessed before taxes but hitting you afterward.  In other words because of how the system works (employer "insurance" payments are off the top line before taxes, yet you pay out-of-pocket with after-tax dollars) this effectively puts your entire blended tax rate, including both halves of Medicare and FICA, in front of personal health care spend.  I remind you that everyone who works has a roughly 15% tax rate from the first dollar in the form of FICA and Medicare tax, so if you're in the 10% Federal rate it's really 25%.

Bringing in "more immigrants" does not resolve this problem because as soon as you "regularize" said persons they can trivially determine the same thing and they too will stop having children for the same reason.  The exceptions are those who, once again, are either psychopathic or mentally compromised to a degree sufficient that they're not contributing much of anything to begin with.

If you want to know why millions of young people are choosing not to have children, or to have only one per couple (which is not enough, obviously, to replace the two of them) the answer is right there in your face.  Our society and government have made the choice to have children by the ordinary working-class people one that is virtually impossible to do with anything approaching full-time care for said children and the household they live in by one of the two adults.  Forcing the second adult out of the house in order to maintain the household did not occur due to "natural forces"; in fact technology has made it so that you can do more with less so it should have moved the bar in terms of required intelligence, drive and income to raise a family DOWNWARD rather than the other way.

Instead it became virtually impossible and the entire reason for it is the scams, thefts and frauds imposed by our government and those of other western nations.  The so-called "green energy" scheme is just another element of it; while battery-powered cars may sound nice digging a half-million pounds of earth up to produce one electric car battery, which is what's required, never mind the horror show ecologically that goes along with processing the lithium and slave child labor associated with the cobalt necessary to make said batteries is just another example.

In inflation-adjusted dollars the average new car in 1970 cost roughly one half as much in terms of median family income as it did in 2019 (its worse today.)  The median house cost $23,000 in 1970 .vs. median family income of $9,300, or to put it another way 2.47 years of income would pay for the house.

Today the median house price is $428,000 but median household income was $87,864 so you needed not 2.47 years of income but 4.87 years, or approximately twice as many working years to earn the house.

The entire problem lies here in that while technological improvement, that is, productivity, is supposed to make our lives better as the definition of productivity is "doing more with less" over the last 50 years it has gone the other way with the cost of common and necessary components of civilized life in America doubling in real terms on a percentage-of-household income basis.  This in turn suppresses birth rates for the obvious reason that thinking people will not have children they cannot afford to raise.

If we had not allowed all of this expanding grift and scam over that same period of time in terms of income you could buy a home for your family with about 1.2x median household income and two cars for the percentage of income you spent on one in 1970.  Since every bit of productivity improvement comes from the people who are, of course, the ones who do more with less the benefit should go to the people and absent grift, scam and fraud, all of which can only be performed without going to jail if the government is involved we would have all kept same.  Large families would be the norm rather than the exception, financial stress in households would be half of what it was in 1970 and nobody would be complaining about "immigration" because we'd have no reason to admit anyone who didn't have either a hell of a lot of money to invest or a proved high-class IQ -- and likely both.

There is no answer to this found in importing more low-intelligence, low-education and thus low-capability people from nations without functional educational and technological infrastructure.  They will fill that gap for exactly one cycle at which point they realize the same thing -- that they can't afford to have kids and make the rent either -- and thus you've actually gone backward since they're more-likely to be below the median income line.

The only fix is to kneecap the scammers, starting with the myriad scams found in health care and, the new one, "green energy" of all stripes so that young couples of child-bearing age find themselves able to have children they can raise and support within their family units on one working-age person's wages while the other's full-time job is the home and kids.

This is a math problem folks and has been turned into a wild-eyed pack of lies by the political and "business" class, all of whom are extraordinarily invested in ripping you off.

Does anyone really think the lame duck quackers are actually going to do anything, when for the past 22 months they did nothing but say there's no problem at the border? These clowns are just putting on a show.

Also, any discussion of population decline in the western world without mentioning the willful deaths of tens of millions by abortion is a bit disingenuous. Abortion certainly has consequences for a society.

We're importing people from shithole countries.

They aren't shitholes because of the dirt there, it's because those people are only capable of developing and maintaining that level of living.

Once they're here, our country is stolen from us and turned into a shithole. Enjoy potable water and flush toilets while you can.

Karl, want to add to that and it exacerbates the effect of the invaders. Some 25 years or so ago the magazine "Texas Monthly" had an article that detailed how many millions the state and local governments used to translate government docs into Spanish alone. Since English is not our official tongue they felt, and continue to do so, that they had to do this. It was tens of millions a year. And did not include Korean or any other language. And hiring real people for courts and such added to the cost of translating. It was not an insignificant amount of tax dollar expenses. And so much money is sent home from paychecks that there is a very real drain on money leaving the U.S. economy that does NOT go into the community to support local businesses. Again it is a real problem these in support of illegals will not tell you but it is damaging to us.

I worked in landscaping here in AL and I will tell you what most do-gooders will not. They say these "Mexicans" are net payers of tax and their fear of being caught prevents them from seeking. Gov help. And so they say we are mean because they pay and never take. Baloney. They know where to get fake SS numbers and they teach each other how to scam payroll deduction. One 16 y.o. had 14 or so dependent kids. They know how to work it so no or minimum tax comes out. Come tax time their address does not match or they get new papers or move. No way to catch them and make them pay their taxes. And the company did the required paperwork on immigration status.
And emergency rooms do not ask and cannot refuse care so they get routine health care and disappear and never pay the bill. They do take the .gov freebies and I bet they are a net drain. And how in the world do they get away with violation of occupancy rules by having many guys renting an apartment. You get kicked out they do not. And I asked one why some of these guys here for decades never learn English. The reply. They didn't want to lose their Mexicanness. The illegals are here for the money, the grift and do not wish to contribute to our society.

And yes there are other communities from European countries that do the same and we never hear of it. Immigration of all nationalities must be controlled.

The Medicare scam is alive and well and bankrupting the country. Many of those eligible have paid very little into the system and are collecting a windfall. How many recipients, instead of losing extra weight, just get another joint replacement? Is it fair that the working class has poor insurance compared to those who aren't working and getting Medicare? I live in an area where there are a lot of elderly people. They are constantly going to the doctor. Would they be if they were paying the full cost? Medicare is socialized medicine for the old, and it distorts the cost of all medical care in this country. I have been told by a physician that Medicare doesn't really pay the full cost of the care but the burden is shifted onto those with private insurance. I've been told the same about TriCare (military) and Medicaid as the reimbursement rate for those is even lower than that for Medicare.

Who's going to provide medical care for all those Schumer wants to import into the country?

Your article reminded me of a conversation I had with my wife the other day. Basically, we were talking about how reducing/eliminating fraud/waste is no longer talked about at any level of politics.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is not at least a half Trillion in waste and fraud.

Y'all better hope that diversity is indeed a strength cause you are going to get tons more of it. Think you are going to import tons of people from cultures that do not value liberty and have radically different views on corruption, and all is going to go swimmingly?

I agree with this Ticker, but would clarify a couple things. My recollection of the 80s was women DEMANDING to get their own careers, go to college and whatnot. Stay-at-home mothers were not held in the highest regard, certainly not by my classmates in high school and beyond. Hence the start of the explosion of bullshit "degrees". And culminating now with calls for student loan bailouts, which primarily affect women and minorities according to stats I have seen. Maff be hard. I have known several guys who got married and had to pay off their wives loans for attending adult daycare (formerly known as "college"). On top of several who had to go with massively expensive test tube baby attempts as their careers came first, and it is not as easy to get pregnant when you are well past 30.

I would also add women overwhelmingly (and with plenty of help from today's young males) vote overwhelmingly left, which is code for "freebies for all". Hard to have that with open borders which, in truth, both parties don't mind for the cheap labor, but the current party in charge is definitely tearing down the border for political reasons. Minorities generally vote left and always will. Just add them to the free shit army. Which leads to an even greater inflation tax, which everyone gets to pay. And it is quite regressive. And we won't even talk about "green" energy madness and what that does to inflation.

And since women do not want to marry down (i.e. a man who does not have the same income and the same level of "education") that leads to a bit of a problem. Then throw in family court divorce risks and other societal disincentives.

I suggest you start taking Spanish or Chinese lessons. It may come in handy.

Two things come to mind. One, the framers knew the Republic would fail and we are living it. They understood human nature quite well.

Two, for Jordan Peterson fans, a month or so ago was one of the best discussions I have ever heard from him, with part of it being about the "women can't have it all" scenario. It's somewhere in the first third of the interview. Everybody has to decide what their values are at some point, and be smart enough to know that some things like fertility have a timeline. I did the best I could with having it all by working either only part time or starting my own businesses and running them from my home (also tried to keep part time) while the kids were little.

First the value/rule - nobody is going to see my kids more during the day than their parents do - then the steps to make that happen. No, you won't keep up with the Jones.

And that... Is without anything going wrong medically that may prevent a large portion of those within childbearing years to be unable to produce viable offspring.

We haven't been flirting with that at all lately, right?

I call bullshit on the lie wetbacks are net tax payers.

Every young child carried across the border is a liability. That kid isn't a US citizen and can't get on welfare.

Every baby a wetback shits out on US soil is immediately eligible for all sorts of freebies.

Anyone remember that toddler who died at a detention center? The official narrative was the deplorable conditions killed the kid. I always wondered if the mother murdered her so she could have another one here and mooch the rest of her life.

That's who's supposed to pay taxes to heritage Americans in their old age. Ain't happening.

You are way, way underestimating this. Think of much bigger numbers...

Also FWIW I went to school with guys from a lot of different countries.
One common thing they said to me in different ways is how embedded fraud and corruption were in their countries.
Perhaps the USA is simply catching up with the levels of fraud that the other nations have.

A piece of advice I got from a good friend years later was to "Invest in yourself", because that way government couldn't tax/steal it.

Of course, there's another, darker side to what's going on. (((Schummer))) and his ilk have had a major goal going back since before 1965: To rid the Earth and white countries of ethnic Europeans.

But, but, WHY???? Afterall, we're all just people-folks, if you will.

Ummm, not so fast, Sherlock. First of all, the white man came up with English common law, the backbone of what forms our constitution. Remove YT from his country, it's problematic laws (which keep .gov from doing cute things like making you quarter troops, pay outrageous taxes without your consent and without benefit to you).

Not to mention IQ, that nasty little thing that if mentioned, will get you thrown off of Twatter/Fartbook/etc.

You see, they used to lie and say, "I'll outlaw illegal immigration when elected."

I believe the year was 1987 when that cocksucker Reagan "decided" to give all illegals amnesty. I'll never forget that day. At that time I was working in downtown Philadelphia for a major top ten corporation. I voted for that asshole and he stabbed us all in the back.

Now, they have no qualms about saying, "Get in the back of the bus, YT! Your time here is over, welcome Juan, Juanita, Koonta Kinte, and LaQueefah, and Mohammed!"

See, what we really NEED here is DIEversity! Fuck your beautiful blondes, redheads, brunettes, with their blue, hazel, brown eyes!"

Listen and understand, folks. If you have white children, in less than 20-30 years time they will be hunted down like animals and ruthlessly murdered. And there will be celebrations in the streets that the "oppressors" have been eliminated.

And THAT'S exactly what Chucky's (((Tribe))) has in mind for all of us.

The economics is only ONE side of this sordid little affair.

The only useful moment that GWB the junior ever had was when he belittled Chuck Schumer by stroking his face like he was his good friend/temporary biatch....it was some time after 9/11 when dems and reps were just out practicing the "we are all in this together" bullshit.

I have a childhood friend who Chuckie chose to make a media moment out of at his expense (many many years ago when Schumer was in the House). He managed to curse him out (off camera) but the poor guy goes ballistic if Schumer is even mentioned.

I work with a lot of second and third generation hispanics.

They are having two or less kids. Once they became legal, the aid their parents and grandparents got is denied them.

It gets worse from there.

Most of my young bloods are in their late 20's early 30's. No kids. No desire to have kids. The women in that cohort do NOT want to be married, and also have no desire to have kids. Kids are "chains" as one gal told me. I know a lot of young people, and most do not have any kids. When I look at my bride's coworkers in their 30's, most do not have kids.

No one is having kids.

Locally the preschools are shutting down. No clients. Grade schools are consolidating, and the local district is trying like mad to "attract" DIE. But they are not having kids either (See above), so a lot of teachers are going to be doing something else soon.

We are just starting the down slop of the roller coaster. The demographic crash is going to be part of a societal crash.

The number has remained at that same level for like 30 years.
I'd bet it's at least 30.
Or, if we include "kids born of said illegals" the number is likely really 50.
