Guns? No, Lack of PRISON TIME

At the very least, this DA should be disbarred. At best, a rope and scaffold. He'll scream 'qualified immunity!'. Qualified immunity is a judge-created doctrine with no basis in the Constitution. The Framers would have been appalled. Time to throw that concept away.

My wife and daughter and the group of other young, mostly female victims and their family members were thinking that the guy that stole the million dollars would get life in prison. I started laughing at one of their meetings and said that the only way he would get life is if he took the banks money!

Qualified immunity does not exist; it is a legal fiction born from "the divine right of Kings" and thus should be extinguished with the same extreme prejudice we kicked out the King of England.

The difference between "kill" and "murder" is that murder, as a subset of kill, is undeserved by the deceased.

Greenacr, I do not think having a magic blue uniform makes someone else's life more valuable than mine as judged by the punishment for the crime. I do not think I would trust the system to be fair in that regard, either. Compare the punishments for LARPing through Mordor to that received recently for burning an official vehicle, for example. Given the abuses seen with civil asset forfeiture, I am not inclined to enable immediate bodily life forfeiture...

I like to write.

I have couple of concepts for fiction novels.

One of them is about a hard luck guy who lost his family. He's a loner, but very bright and monetarily successful. An avid hunter and outdoorsman who is equally at ease behind a computer.

He's a disillusioned patriot.

He's fed up with lack of respect for and enforcement of the rule of law. He's mad as a hornet that the country he fought and killed for falling apart.

He gets diagnosed with terminal cancer. Prognosis

He gets diagnosed with terminal cancer. Prognosis is 12-18 months.

He decides to dedicate the rest of his life to his own cause: Enforcing the rule of law.

Too bad Charles Bronson isn't still alive to play the role if i sell it to Hollywood......but then again they'd never make it, let alone hire a "toxically masculine white guy" to play the lead role.

Yep. Paul Kersey in the Death Wish series. Who'd have thought movies from decades ago would actually be prophetic in their depiction of distopian inner cities.

@Joancrawford, Posting the photo of the Colorado Springs shooter would undermine the Ministry of Truth's narrative that only white males are the mass shooters. Hate crime laws were passed to enhance penalties against white men; can anyone name a non-white individual ever charged with a "hate crime".

I remember the Texas former convicts dragging a fellow hoodlum (black) behind their pickup and decapitating him. For six months I feared that Tom Brockaw would have a stroke since he got so wound up reporting the incident. We didn't hear so much about the black SUV driver running over so many in a Wisconsin Christmas parade. Wonder why?

@Trappedout I remember a Simpson's episode advertising Charles Bronson in Death Wish 7.. He was in a hospital bed and of advancing age and his line was "Oy, I wish I were dead", I think there's still a market for that type of story.

Perhaps if Creepy Joe has a serious health reversal there will be a sympathy gun control bill passed with the assistance of his RINO pals.

The DA in Colorado Springs/El Paso County is a Republican (as if it made a difference). The files of the shooter's previous case have been sealed. I'm not trying to run cover here, but there have been numerous "Criminal Justice Reform" laws that have come out of the Statehouse that have effectively tied the hands of police and prosecutors. People are getting off scot-free, even for felonies.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Watch for big gun control laws being proposed in the state legislature.

@joancrawford - A probably black shooter in a gay club which appears to cater heavily to a black clientele means the "HOMOPHOBE ARE KILLING ALL THE GHEYS!!!!!" narrative crashes straight into the "disgruntled gay man lashes out at other gay men" reality.

"Kidnapping, forcible rape and murder are three offenses for which there is no excuse for recidivism."

Interesting in the context of the movement to redefine sexual abuse of children as not being a form of forcible rape, but a valid preference.

I am curious when my predisposition towards murder, perhaps some of you share the tendency with me, will be redefined as a normal preference known as "blood lust" and as valid as for those who prefer children sexually.

I think it is all political.

Democrats want to end the 2nd Amendment.

They are willing to allow people to commit gun crimes with the hope that one day the American people will give away their right to bear arms or there has been enough gun carnage that they can pass the legislation to do so.

I really believe the Democrats celebrate the violence to further their agenda towards a totalitarian state.

@Happyapricot -- that is not the reason, although it serves their purposes to have us think that way. It is merely a residual benefit. Huh? Yes, that upon which the focus is strong is merely a distraction.

Their personality type is one that does not want accountability and projects this mentality onto the greater society. It is a control game, and the greatest way to have it is to not be accountable to anyone. The obvious dirtbags are merely tools and symbols to allow them to create a world where they can have this. Seems illogical until one realizes that human behavior is not logical; it is purposeful. And, in achieving that purpose sometimes really bad outcomes are disregarded in the process, especially when this is an unconscious drive. I will give an actual hard-core example from my old hometown to illustrate concrete evidence of this dynamic and that there are times when players are consciously aware of what they are doing.

There was a time when there was a general shitty-ness to NYC, including the higher end areas where i lived and worked. At times the place really fucking sucked. It often stank, broke down, looked like hell, made people miserable, was dangerous and gave the impression of a collapse about to happen. Don't get me wrong; many aspects of the place were kind of nice.

People openly said that crummy areas and the borderline areas adjacent to them and the more civilized majority sections allowed all sorts of "guilty pleasures" to thrive and serve the community openly. The general nature of the place and the chaos of crime, dysfunction, disrepair and general filth even allowed marginal and open degenerate as well as simply illegal but not really disgusting activities to even coexist right next door to what would be no different than Mid-West people living normal conservative lives. Everyone liked this arrangement.

When the city started cleaning up areas, normal, upstanding and overall moral as you all here would find them people were concerned that this would take away that ability to have the "guilty pleasures" as they could not hide in "mix" so to say of the general mess-itude of the place. To be direct, the classy aspects of the prostitution business was ruined by this cleaning up as well as other non-harmful aspects of the illegal sex industry. Lots of people found no reason to be there no matter how much money they earned for this and the loss of other things. Nice example, yea i know, however it makes a point.

This is in all of us, and it is pathological in some. Some sick people have an in-human drive to fuck up society so that they can do whatever they want.

It is the exact same reason that President Reagan (who was a nice-guy clinical narcissist) early in his career did a lot to end the institutional care and control of the mentally ill. He knew at a conscious level that it was a symbol and actual mechanism of control often used against his kind and he could not emotionally live with something like this existing in the society.

You absolutely must understand this concept if you are to deal with these problems effectively. The communist types are driven by the same urges to fuck up society so that they as individualists (narcissistic tendency at least) can hide in the crowd of dysfunction.

There is no other goal, and it gives people chills to realize this.

@ Joan Crawford "Dumb question: I'm assuming the shooter is non-white/black"

Looks like you are correct. CNN has an article up that shows the Perp from the back and he is in fact black.

If a perp fits a profile of a white middle-aged man you can guarantee the picture will be published far and wide.

The UK DailyMail has a video of his June 2021 arrest.

He is not black. He is a chubby faced white guy.

It's been a bad year the next one will probably be worse.

It all depends on point of view (or, even religion).

Ordinary Americans (left, right, and center) are horrified by these killings.

But true-believer gun grabbers see every gun atrocity as a step closer to banning guns.

But that's not the scary part. The scary part is the reason they want to ban guns. Does "Arbeit macht frei" ring any bells?

Colorado had a red flag law. No conviction required. Guess it was "inconvenient" to use in this guy's case.

@Tickerguy -- Even worse than this, the Divine Right of Kings (in the West) is heavily based on the bible, wherein the king was anointed to be king by the priest/prophet -- BUT the monarchists "conveniently" forget that the King was bound both by the law and God's own word! That was why king Saul lost his kingdom (going against the word of God relayed by the prophet), and why David's dynasty was filled with strife (punishment from God for his adultery & murder)... IOW, there was no "Tee-hee! The law doesn't apply to me because I'm king!" bullshit.

Peterm99 "...DAs/prosecutors, judges, parole officials, etc. have complete legal immunity, both civilly and criminally, for their actions and/or results thereof relating to whether perps are prosecuted/incarcerated or not, no matter the actual circumstances of their cases."

Did you think most of us are thinking of LEGALLY enforced punishment for malfeasance? If the alleged ENFORCERS of the law cease to BE law enforcers to become aid-and- abettors, on what POSSIBLE basis would (the metaphorical) we be CONSTRAINED to try to mete out just punishment in a legal fashion?

They only "have legal immunity" so long as the PUBLIC allows them to have it! What do you see coming down the enforcement track, as a result of them not doing THEIR duty!? Why, WE will be doing ours. No?

Yes they do want more violence to justify gun confiscation. They want confiscation so thwt you can't kill them when they decide to do bad things to society like ummm a vaxx mandate. Then they want to be able to kill you more easily when it's convenient to do so.
