.... when you have nothing to run on?

Let's just be straight here, ok -- neither party, when you get down to it, has anything to run on.

But: When you're in the left seat, and the plane crashes, its your fault.

That's just how the cookie crumbles.

Just as an example the "authorities" won't release the surveillance or body camera tapes from the Paul Pelosi assault.  Why not?  The only reason not to is that what's there renders irrevocably false the story told thus far.

In what way?  I don't know, but it doesn't matter.  If the footage documents the affidavit "as told" then there's no reason not to release it as it will cement the case not only in court but in public opinion as well.  Therefore it clearly doesn't.

Biden claims inflation is not his fault and he's bringing it down by spending more deficit money.  This is mathematically impossible, incidentally.  He either doesn't know this or he's lying.  It matters not which it is; he ran on and promoted blowing more money around so he has no place to hide.

Biden told us all that if you took the Covid shots you would not get covid.  He said that conclusively.  He lied; his top advisor, Birx, has stated in public she knew this was not true before he took office.  Therefore either he hired her and is responsible or she told him and he deliberately lied.  Either way: He's in the left seat, he had opportunity to not lie, thus he owns it.

On Biden's watch Ukraine and Russia went to war.  Biden has poured tens of billions of dollars and weapons not only in munitions into Ukraine he's paying the salaries of their people with our money.  The total at this point is well over $100 billion, which is a quite-material part of the fiscal deficit.  By what authority?  Well, Congress appears to be ok with it, aren't they?  Indeed.  Who controls Congress?  Uh huh.  Oh, spending more money than you take in causes inflation?  Well, prosecuting this war over there is part of it then, on purpose.  Again, sit in the left seat, you're responsible when there's a smoking hole in the ground and nothing larger than a quarter can be identified.

There have been a couple of million people streaming into our nation illegally over the last two years.  Inflationary?  You bet.  What's worse?  The guy who is accused of attacking Pelosi is here illegally and has been for years.  How many others have been victimized by criminals who were here illegally?  Remember "A Girl in Iowa" anyone?  Sit in the left seat, it's your problem, especially when you sue, as Biden has done, to block Arizona and others from sealing said border.

Biden has declared war on carbon-based fuels.  Refiners are closing and have on his watch and will not restart because he has made clear that any investment in them is a zero.  It is his expressed intent to destroy said investment so nobody will make it.  Do you light $100 bills on fire for fun?  Neither does anyone else, so if you think gas or diesel prices are coming down on a durable basis exactly how when there is no increase in refining capacity coming online to meet demand?  You can't build an electric car without carbon-based fuels and in fact to build and operate one requires more carbon-based fuel than just refining and burning the gasoline.  This is fact and yet Biden does not care if you get screwed.

High food prices?  He doesn't care.  You might care that eggs have doubled in the last couple of years, along with a whole host of other common food items, but he certainly does not.

A woman was raped in one of NYC's best neighborhoods the other day while out for a jog.  Reports are a suspect was arrested after using the victim's stolen credit cards -- and he is homeless.  Further updates have shown that the accused has twenty five prior arrests and is accused of being a serial rapist.  NY State and NYC obviously deemed him fit to be free and available to rape again rather than keeping him behind bars where the only available victims are other inmates.  Given 25 priors this cannot be considered an "isolated incident" or "mistake", therefore its not; it was a deliberate decision to place women at risk of sexual assault and the voters in NY not only allowed it then they still are.

Heyjackass chronicles the wonders of Chicago's "shoot-a-palooza" on a daily and weekly basis and don't look at the race of the offenders -- or victims.  Hint: They're both the same race, in the majority, as that of the Mayor.  Oh yeah, and assault rifles?  Uh, no, that's not what is being used.  Common pistols are the weapon for most.  Surprised?  Funny how Biden doesn't want to talk about that, but he does want to talk about scary black rifles.  Crime has skyrocketed in the blue-run cities; Minneapolis, Chicago, Boston, New York and more are  turning into war zones, and they all have one thing in common -- Biden's party controls the city government and refuses to throw offenders in prison.  In San Francisco you're likely to find piles of human excrement and used needles on city sidewalks.  Illinois has passed and is set to ban cash bail entirely within weeks on a state-wide basis.

On issue after issue the story is the same; Biden has nothing to stump for and no agenda to run on; everything he's touched and all his party have participated in since he took office has turned to crap and the people have been relentlessly screwed -- in some cases literally and forcibly screwed while just trying to enjoy a peaceful morning jog.

So what's left?

As Biden has now told us, if you don't vote for Democrats our way of life is over, Democracy is over.  Vote for us or you're a {racist | fascist | homophobe | misogynist | insert-some-other-slur }

That's all he has left.

Notice what's missing: Anything -- even one thing -- that if you vote for them will improve.  They've had two years and they can't point to a single metric of modern life they have improved for anyone -- except themselves.

I wonder if the woman who was raped in NYC will vote Democrat today?

It seems like all the red party needed to do was to hammer on the law and order issue. Did they? If they did not, one wonders why not.

I don't have any hope that the federal level is reformable, haven't for most of my life.

Still waiting for people to start listening about secession and thinking about how to stop people from certain other states from "migrating" here to escape their consequences. They observably reliably will vote the same way again, locusts.

We need to get used to the idea that we aren't going to be globally significant again for around five hundred years after this crashes, and that's fairly optimistic. Demographics are destiny.

She probably will vote democrat while saying something like "it would be a greater tragedy to let this damage our democracy". They are appallingly often entirely aware of what caused it and yet zealously merged with the party line.

I've seen it happen all too often with mothers and fathers whose children were murdered near-instantly going "DIVERSITY IS MY GOD". A lot of these people are beyond not having spirits, they don't have souls. The perceived benefits of virtue signalling are worth any amount degradation to them.

I suppose it's a marriage made in hell of sunken cost fallacy and stockholm syndrome.

If the R wave happens is there time to re-ignite so to speak the oil/gas industry? Ir is it too late?

Saw where some pecincts in Penn are scrambling to"re-vote" those invalidated. Yeah, so they didn't get it right the first time why the heck do you think they get it on the second go. They shouldn't even get the chance. Gonna be a long day.

And yet...and yet...we have found the line that suburban white ladies don't want to cross. meaning, THIS is how they want things. Meaning, as soon as there is even a little bit of relief, they will be right back to voting for and screeching for these same policies. Go ahead and be racist if you must, but I reserve the worst of my scorn and judgement for suburban white ladies.

"What will change with a Republican majority?" I'm sure many will ask.

For starters, they can block far-left judicial nominees, and with a big enough majority, they can block ALL of them, similar to what they did in 2015 and 2016. For the last two years, the courts have been the only thing stopping the Biden regime.

Committee chairmanships will go to the Republicans. They have promised many investigations, and now they have a new tool: locking people up for refusing to comply with their subpoenas. Now, the Attorney General can refuse to prosecute, BUT that likely means they will impeach him. Should be interesting. And Rand Paul and Ron Johnson, two of the most outspoken critics of Fauci, clot shots, etc. will have committee chairmanships.

Impeachment. If the Republicans win anything beyond a razor-thin majority, I expect Brandon to get impeached. At a minimum for refusing to protect the US from border invasion. The bigger the majority, the more counts he will get impeached on. He could also be impeached for refusing to enforce congressional subpoenas, since Garland works for him. Will Brandon be removed? Nope. The votes (67) won't be there in the Senate. But impeached, he will be, and he should be.

Power of the purse. If the Republicans simply cut off funding, they have a lot of leverage. Individual representatives have already talked about cutting off funding for Ukraine, as well as forcing the military to reinstate all those they fired for not taking the clot shot, with backpay. In the past, the Republicans have lost all of these funding fights over government shutdowns. Maybe this time, they will break up the individual appropriations bills so "everything" like national parks doesn't close when they are fighting over unrelated things.

The majority will control the vote schedule, which means they can bring up votes to embarrass the left. The first thing they should do, as TG retweeted last night, is vote to abolish the Senate filibuster. 40+ Senate dems are on board, right? Should be interesting....

PA is a mess. Only glancing at the 3 candidates...two are republicans, right? *ignore this 3 candidate statement, my brain is fried)

So a leftist freak who is suing to allow ballots that were filled out wrong, rather than suing PFIZER for the jab with benefits (stroke), definitely has a good chance to win for Senate.

In GA, I can see why Trump loved Walker over the years, they both communucate with the eloquence of Mushmouth...and he is running against a guy who looks and sounds like a reject from the DefJam comedy tour.

Well, time to go vote for the Republicans. But only because they are not-as-shitty-as-the-completely-shitty Democrats.

I truly long for some libertarian candidates on the ballot with a chance of winning. They don't even have to be 100% libertarian, anything above 50% will be an improvement.

Secession is bullshit at this point, and I wish so-called "conservatives" would stop talking about it. 95% of those Texans (which is where a lot of the succession talk comes from) wore face diapers for much of the last 2 years. Think they are going to "secede"? LOL. "All hat, no cattle", as they say.

You are also wrong about political migration. The people leaving California and New York are overwhelmingly conservative. Yes, some bring their leftist crap with them, but not the majority. That is why Florida is now a solid "red" state.

As for demographics, the Republicans are probably going to win Miami-Dade today. Perhaps by as many as 5 points. The Texas border counties flipped 30 points to the right in the last 4 years. There are three contested congressional seats there, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some flip to Republicans. We will know tonight.

So my town is in need of replacing the school superintendent who is retiring this year. I helped contribute to him taking retirement for my phone calls and emails over his covid policies.

So the school board formed a committee to interview perspective candidates for the new superintendent job including 2 parents on the committee. I submitted my letter of interest and was part of 6 people who would be chosen randomly. I assumed it was going to be done at last nights school board meeting and so I sent an email confirming the time of the meeting and to see if I needed to bring anything. I was informed that the "random" drawing was done privately and that I was not chosen. The person (not on the board) did it himself and emailed me the two people who were chosen. I told him that this was not acceptable and that the drawing should be done in a public setting with full transparency. I notified a town selectman who has been sympathetic to my positions and he agreed. I went to the meeting to voiced my complaint, One board member assumed that the drawing would occur at the meeting, another said, no biggie lets redo it now at the meeting but the two other cunts said no, that they trust Duane with their lives and know he is honest. When one of them questioned Duane about how the two names were leaked Duane "lied" and said he did not know. Despite it not being open for public comment, I demanded to know who leaked the names (knowing he sent me the names in an email), he admitted to sending me the email. I then turned to the board and explained that the man who they trust with their lives just lied to their faces and in a public meeting. I was gaveled and told to remain quiet as public comment was not open. They voted to keep the two names that were chosen.

Just so sick of the bullshit.

All I want to see today is libtards losing their fucking minds because they got smashed. The Democraps deserve to be destroyed across the board. Voting is just deciding what size pile of shit you have to step in and I prefer the smallest pile. The Dims today are the biggest shit piles that I've ever seen. If you don't vote, you're just letting someone else decide which pile you have to step in.

I just can't be bothered; it's all too much of a farce down to even the process of tallying votes. The common election platform is "I'll fight the other guy and possibly get you a moral (maybe pyrric) victory!" These assholes can't even deliver on those, but they get some press for performative shite like committee rants.

Regardless of the outcome of today, people would do well to remember:

The government produces exactly nothing.
It only transfers that which is first created.

That which is given can be taken back.
The best way to take it back is to stop giving it away.

We are waiting on a gang of arsonists to stop burning down our house.
We need to stop giving them the gasoline.

Every time a politician tells you what they can do for you,
Imagine they are an arsonist, requesting more gasoline.

Best give them no fuel at all.
Or keep them on a very short leash to ensure good behavior.

(And make damn sure you keep hold of the matches.)

I really don't expect much to change with the red wave. The inflation destruction/rate increases are baked in and is not going away anytime soon with them in power. If anything, the R's will get blamed in 2024 for the horrible next two years we are gonna endure.

The R's talk tough but then do nothing while in power.

I'm voting today anyway just to give Hochul, Schumer, James, Tonko, and other NY state D's a big fuck you. I would love to see Zeldin win governor but I dont trust that the fix is not in in NYC and Albany to drag Hochul's witch ass over the finish line.

Hopefully the D's are punished badly today. The R's do not deserve to win, but the D's have literally lost touch with reality.

Regarding secession, I think a breakup in the future is the most peaceful resolution. Divisions are so deep now with completely different foundational assumptions, there can not be unity. The alternative is one side being thoroughly defeated. The country is not at that place yet, but something that was unimaginable not long ago looks very possible now. How it goes, I have no idea. I would think several regional divisions, but with much of the difference being urban vs. rural instead of region vs. region, I am not sure how it will work out.

TG-I wonder if the woman who was raped in NYC will vote Democrat today?

Oh, she will. If she doesn't, she's "rayciss", possibly a homophobe as well.

Mr. Denninger, you give the American people far too much credit for intelligence they simply do not possess. Everyone is in a catatonic sleepwalk. I see it every single day, from the belief that "ya betta getcha boostah!" to "anyone who doesn't believe that Paul Pelosi's attacker was a disgruntled MAGA fiend" is a piece of excrement".

I'm exhausted. You cannot reason with stupid. The past two years have utterly convinced me of that fact.

Short summary of what's going on in my neck of the woods. My husband and his college frat buddies graduated over 40 years ago. Every single year, my husband has hosted an annual Christmas party for said frat brothers, their wives, children, grand kids, friends, etc.

When Covid struck, he sent out email invitations as per usual. He got exactly one response from the original group of around six guys. They were all too scared, hiding under their beds, terrified of the plague to end all plagues.

So for the past two years, nothing, nada. No party, no mention of party, or even any interest.

Long story short, the ONE guy and his wife that we've remained close to through all this have retired in the NC mountains and have an extremely swank estate overlooking the river-enough room/beds to accommodate a large overnight crowd of 20-30 people. They want to host the holiday party this year.

You know what? I told my husband, "Go if you want. I ain't going."

Frankly, I wouldn't piss on these people if they were on fire. You ignore us completely for two f*cking years over a nonsensical "plague" that amounts to a bad flu and suddenly you want to be buddy buddy again?

I don't think so. I'm very fond of the guy and his wife, and we've enjoyed spending time with them at this property.

But no. Stick a fork in me. I'm done. The mere sight of those other people make me want to vomit.

No forgetting, no forgiveness. Simply "F*CK YOU! I'm done.

Bluto, you make some good points worth recognizing. I liken the current 2 part paradigm to a speeding train heading for a cliff. The Dims have the pedal to the metal with glee in their hearts, the Rep. likewise have the same train but are holding the speed down only slightly to only delay reaching the cliff.

Not one Red state defied the lockdown, not one. No state refused the covid money to pad their budgets and rather than return unused they are using the money for non covid things. Here in my community they want to use vivid money for better internet. They still to a man belly up to the trough to get their money back from the federales and accept all the strings attached regardless of how they may go against the will of the people if it were voted on beforehand.

Good points you make no doubt and I agree on point, but in principal this thinking still gets us in trouble with profligate spending and idiotic energy policies at the fed level. And as I said on another post it is how a R treasurer bailed out our prepaid college funds to the tube of millions of bucks. Shameful they didn't have the guts to say sorry you lost your investment but you signed paper acknowledging you understood you might lose said money. None of them have guts to do the right thing.

I will ponder what you say though.

It surprised me that so many positions on the Alabama ballot had Libertarian candidates. None will win, but it might keep the Republicans from being so complacent.

Even if the Republicans won enough seats to impeach and convict Creepy Joe, they wouldn't because so many of them are spineless c**ksuckers who go along to get along. I won't hold my breath on that one. After all, who wants to be known as the one who denied Obama his third term.

My Facebook feed this morning is filled with pleas to get out the vote for the dems to save our democracy from the fascist law breaking repugnicans.

But I live in LA and thats to be expected, but its a great example of where the left is. Everything Karl wrote about is either a plus (shutting down oil) or is the fault of Republicans (inflation due to Republican tax cuts under Trump) or with regards to crime, (not as bad as republicans are making it out to be, its actually heading down!) or Ukraine, (its Putins fault, we have no choice but to stand with Ukraine!) etc etc etc.

Its going to be an interesting next couple of days. Im sure heads will be exploding all over the place.
