No, They're Not Trying To Kill You
[Comments enabled]

The common chestnut among those with a bit too much Reynolds wrapped around their head:

This is part of a depopulation move to kill you all.

IMHO, nope.

Why?  Because while those who think they're your "betters" are indeed desirous of you all getting "out of their way", such as not being on Martha's Vineyard if you're brown and from Venezuela, unless of course you're already a servant (Want to see this in prime action?  Visit Jackson Hole, MV, or any of these other places); if you are suddenly there and "in their face" they want those folks as actual people who expect to be treated on an equal footing about as much as a plantation owner wanted the black folks in his house sleeping in his bed (other than when providing sexual pleasure "on demand", of course.)

But even so all these people do fully understand that without plenty of roughnecks and "lessers" in the form of something as simple as a car mechanic they're ****ed.  Their jet is useless without fuel in size and to get it to their airport it first must be drilled for, extracted, refined and then transported and none of these people will dirty their hands to do any of that.  Never mind that effectively zero of them could replace a wheel bearing on their nice expensive car if it required it; without said replacement when it needs to be done the vehicle is a 2-ton brick.

How about something more-simple?  Not all that long ago the diverter door motors in my truck puked.  The A/C and heat, while they still worked, were basically useless since the HVAC system knew those motors were faulted and would not do what the system wanted, and thus it limited things.  One of those was the inability to run defrost on the windshield, which in the right conditions means you're not able to see while driving.  How many of these "highfalutin" folks could crawl around under the dash of said vehicle and replace the actuators?  You see, that's a job for the servants; they just throw money at the problem which is fine if you have the money but you also need the servants.  What happens when they're gone?  Your car is ****ed, that's what.

So no, they didn't try to kill everyone.  Not even close.  And the problem with an indiscriminate "thinning" is that it makes the taxation and spending divide greater rather than lesser, and guess who doesn't pay any taxes?  That's right -- the servant class.  Why do you think people hire them instead of lawful immigrants who have green cards or are citizens?  Simple: If you have to pay the taxes you also demand higher wages.  The point is servitude thus its cheaper, and yes, the so-called "rich" are pigs at that level all the way up and down the line.  They can afford it and choose to screw people, Americans and immigrants alike.

Thus there is an equally bad explanation that requires no tin foil around the head: Its all about the money and power; people and safety be damned where there is money to be made.

That has an extremely long history worldwide and, incidentally, was what spawned things like OSHA in the first place which, applied with reason, makes perfect sense and is probably necessary because the guard on that saw costs $20 and without OSHA the shop owner does not care if his "lessers" cut off their fingers; he can always just go get another "lesser" when the current one is no longer useful due to missing digits.

Here are the facts:

  • Parts of our defense infrastructure are very invested in bioweapon defense, with good cause.  While nobody sane uses bioweapons in war because you cannot control the "own goal" problem and every look at them inevitably reaches that conclusion that doesn't mean someone won't try anyway.  They might, thus that investment is prudent, like it or not.

  • DARPA turned down work on what certainly appears to have been Covid, and post being turned down the NIH and other entities, including universities and other entities in the United States, did it anyway.  Exactly what part that played in Covid showing up is not known at present and may never be known as much of it was in China and it must be assumed the records necessary to prove it conclusively have been deliberately destroyed.  Proving something when the evidence has been destroyed can be quite difficult especially when fact-finding is obstructed which we know, as fact, China has repeatedly done in this regard.  We also know that some of the interested parties were responsible for claiming that it didn't happen and crafting that narrative.

  • We also know that investigations of mitigating drugs were intentionally slanted or worse not run at all and thus buried.  Budesonide and Hydroxyurea, to name two that were deliberately buried.  One of them I'm quite sure works in at least some people because I used it and the positive response occurred within hours.  Is that proof?  No; I'm one person.  Perhaps God decided to create that correlation.  But near-immediate and very significant response, even in one person, is strongly suggestive.  The hydroxyurea response and results are wildly more interesting in that those were not limited to one person and were in those already written off for dead by medical science, nearly all of whom became not dead when it was used.  There was exactly zero follow-up on this.

  • At the same time even though the WHO had disavowed Remdesivir as early as the fall of 2020 it remained and still does remain a "front line" drug for hospitalized Covid patients.  This, despite a trial being stopped for Ebola when it killed more people than those who got nothing, a virus with much more lethality than Covid has.  Let me note again: Remedesivir has never passed a clinical trial for anything -- it failed for cancer, it failed for Ebola and in a huge multi-national trial for Covid it failed there too, and it has a known and proved nasty propensity to do serious or fatal damage to the kidneys.  I'm not sure how anyone can qualify that as acceptable with a straight face and not treat any such use as murder complete with the penalties that should be associated with same, but there you have it.

  • The "mRNA" nonsense has never worked either.  Every trial run prior to Covid has resulted in unacceptable safety signals.  Those signals including biodistribution were known and deliberately not run in this case in the United States.  Japan demanded and got those distribution studies which should have resulted in an immediate hard stop as they evidenced intentional concealment of risk.  Now add to that Pfizer's attempt to seal the data for 75 years (which failed, incidentally.)  There is now evidence in the form of heightened all-cause deaths, especially in younger people, that began coincident with the roll-out in that part of the population and it has not abated since.  No, they don't "kill everyone" and won't, but something that changed in the first part and middle of 2021 has resulted in a persistent elevation of all-cause death among people who do not usually die, and its not Covid because those people are not being killed by the virus and recorded as such.

None of this requires any more motive than money.  I point to two specific examples I have bought up before, both of which are proved and one of which is contemporary too -- statins and the recent approval of a drug for Alzheimer's.

Statins do reduce LDL cholesterol.  That's a scientific fact.  But, in persons who have not previously had a documented heart attack, they do not reduce all-cause mortality.  Dead is dead, in short, and if the point of a given drug is to make it less-likely that you will be dead due to some body parameter being out of a claimed "acceptable range", the drug reduces the parameter and yet you still die then quite-obviously whatever is being claimed as the reason you become dead is wrong.  Anyone claiming otherwise is neither a scientist or a doctor; they are money-grubbing *******s.

The Alzheimer's drug is another example.  The disease has been believed for a long time to be caused by "plaques" in the brain.  The seminal study, incidentally, that allegedly showed this originally has been exposed as almost-certainly a fraud, which you'd think would result in voiding all the downstream work including this drug.  You'd be wrong.  The drug does on a very-significant basis, reduce said plaques.  However, it does nothing to halt or reverse the cognitive impairment from Alzheimer's in the studies submitted, and thus on the basis of what occurs with Alzheimer's disease it failed.  The FDA approved it anyway despite this showing, and that's not an EUA either; it received full approval.  Again, this is neither science or medicine; it is in fact exploitation of people suffering from a horrid disease with the only true motive being the acquisition of money.

In both cases there was lots of money to be extracted, billions in the case of statins and who knows how much will be collected from desperate Alzheimer's patients and their families (likely even moreis all that matters; obviously whether the drug(s) in question actually work to stop the bad thing from occurring is immaterial.

One final example: "Trans" stuff with kids.  This also has nothing to do with anything but money.  Witness the recent blow-up with VUMC (Vanderbilt) being caught peddling add-a-dick-to-me garbage and bragging about the increase in number of procedures.  You think this isn't purely about the money?  Like hell it isn't; not only is the surgery very expensive it generates effectively-mandatory continuing expense too; some estimates are that for every such person who "transitions" they make close to a half-million dollars!

Now look at our local hospital and its record of dead bodies during the back half of 2021 with Covid.  Did our "illustrious and conservative" Governor give a crap about the latter?  He said not one word and neither did our County Mayor; you see, lots of money was made.

All this comes down to is money.  That's it.  Callous disregard for the health of the public be damned; nobody cares about that, not in Congress, not in our regulatory agencies and definitely not in our pharmaceutical businesses.  If their drugs and other devices happen to produce some measurable effect by which they can get an approval and make money that's all they care about.

We, as Americans, have steadfastly refused over the space of four decades to respond to this sort of corruption with a demand that it stop or we will stop it and we don't care what means are required to do so.  The HIV/AIDS years should have been more than enough to bring about massive change in this regard, never mind Vioxx and countless others.  One small part of the HIV/AIDS "make money" scam was pushing AZT to the exclusion of anything else, including a known effective prophylaxis against PCP pneumonia, Bactrim.  Some sixty thousand people were shoved in the hole in America as a direct result of that, most of them gay men, and all because protecting the money flow from AZT was very important.

I remind you that AZT was also a failed cancer drug and it failed on toxicity, often doing critical damage to the marrow and immune system which is partially rooted there.  This was known about the drug before it was "pushed" for AIDS and in the fullness of time it was found that in fact AZT did not work and did not save a single person who had AIDS.

At the same time creating more customers is part and parcel of the game too.  Again, witness AIDS.  It was known by the CDC within months of the original cases that gay bathhouses in San Francisco were the largest vector source for the virus.  The obvious thing to do was to shut that crap down and make very clear that promiscuous gay sex was a literal death sentence for which we had no means of stopping at the present time.  We didn't do that, deliberately, and thus seeded the virus all over the nation and indeed the world at a highly-accelerated rate.

The same thing just happened with Monkeypox, it was known almost immediately that men screwing each other in the ass was the common factor between people who got it and yet the CDC and state authorities have been and still are refusing to shut down large public events that feature as their prime attraction for gay men lots of highly-promiscuous and high-volume sex between said gay men.

Covid simply put into the public sphere something that was going to screw everyone to some degree and, since it was of nearly-universal impact the amount that could be grifted off and taken was much larger than, for example, a flu bug or even HIV.  That's all.

Indeed grift, intentional crafting of trials to evade answering questions the companies know are likely to kill their drug's prospects and even tampering with trial data, which has repeatedly occurred and been proved has not led to those doing it going to prison.  Never mind the alleged "trials" that, when run by a disinterested party, fail to produce statistically-identical results which implicates either sloppy procedure or intentional misconduct along with depraved indifference as to whether you live or die so long as there is money to be made.

In short the same pattern of behavior that has gone in the so-called "medical industry" for the last forty years continued and resulted in these failures and deaths.  It was not different in character or motivation, only in impact and only because of the size of the target population, in this case damn near everyone in the United States and indeed worldwide.

If you're younger than 60 (yeah, this includes me) then get up and go look in the mirror.  Your refusal to demand that this crap stop over the last 40 years if why it all happened this time and if you were one of those talked into it and you or a loved one got or get ****ed that happened because you sat on your ass during those last four decades and did not put a stop to it.

This trend now continues with"gender affirming transition" surgery. I read an article yesterday that said hospitals were convinced to offer it because the surgery generates a lot of profits and the patients need a lot of expensive follow-up. People and institutions will do anything for cash, morals be damned.

I hope this is on topic but just something I noticed yesterday.

I'm in a part of the country where a good many decide to "retire".

I'm here assisting my father and step-mother for a few days as my father has a severe staph and fungal infection in his fake knee. There's a whole medical industry cluster screw story with its origins but is not relevant other than he has it.

I went to one of the national pharmacy chains to pick up some medication for him.

The number of people dropping off and picking up medications was not just out the door but wrapped around the building in the drive thru.

The amount of "just throw a drug at it" is overwhelming.

Voxday had an interesting blog post today...

worth the read - and the linked article. It's about finding plenty of weird blood clots by embalmers... huge numbers.. huge.

Vox's intro: "The evidence against the Covid vaccines is on the verge of becoming undeniable by the mainstream. Between the excess deaths, the declining fertility, and the hard evidence being provided by embalmers around the world, the lethal nature of the vaxx is on the verge of being conclusively proven."

When those that are trusted to enforce our laws are corrupted and partake in the fraud it becomes very difficult to stop it. The honest people go about their everyday lives just trying to get by. All the while the grifter class grows and now to a point the honest people are down to one choice of which most are not willing to do.

Only way this stops is to withdraw your consent until the Rule of Law is restored and EVERYONE involved in these schemes are brought to justice.
Refuse to participate in the fraud. That entails some inconveniences for "The People" thus it hasn't nor will it ever happen.

I admit that I could have done more. I've been in starve the beast mode since 2008. All the while watching as the "The People" cheered and demanded even more fraud. We've lost and only God knows what's in store for us but I can promise you "The People" are not going to like it.

Only quibble which i have is excluding the sixty and over crowd from culpability.

When the under sixty crowd was younger adults, lots of this got started, and it is the duty of the elders to prepare and preserve the culture for the next and to even give their own lives to protect them from harm.

This young dumb and full of energy being the ones expected to raise Cain over wrong or injustice is an example of the "breeder culture" which assumes youth will deal with their parents' sins and then to add insult to injury, care for them and their needs.

When the Japanese recently had some nasty nuclear accident mess to deal with, the older people volunteered to take the place of the young knowing that they already had life and would not condemn the young to long term disability and illness.

Funny how in their culture the young often protect tradition and honor the wisdom of the elderly.

Our now elderly were not very wise when they let things get really stupid in the post war era in a lot of things, this topic included. Don't blame the boomers exclusively. They were too young to even go to the grocery store unescorted when much of the big problems got started.

Certainly the smart money only cares about making money. It may not be prudent to ignore that segment of the managerial/intellectual/technocratic class that has committed to updated Malthusian determinism. From the Club of Rome onwards significant "brain power" has been dedicated to the "science" of overpopulation and the need for controlling same.

As the saying goes: Just because you are paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you.

Malthus is the mother of all double negatives.

I was taught the love of money is the root of all evil. I found that to be pretty much true in my life. Even small amounts of money can turn families into enemies.

I saw it working in the medical industry, i.e. develop treatments but never cures, adding numerous mental diseases and drugs to pacify, etc.

I saw it working around the higher education industry, i.e. colleges pose as leftists but financially sodomize your young, naive students and self-serving, enabling breeders that would make a corporate raider blush. Not just with high tuition, but with private loan kickbacks, credit card scams, false career promises, etc.

We see this now with the endless green scams, idiot leftists and karens demanding their own economic destruction due to propaganda and fraud. They will probably never learn, even after the lights get turned off.

But what troubles me most is the cultural rot that is happening, and some of that appears to be financially disadvantageous to the purveyors of wokeness, i.e. go woke, go broke.

I believe there is a concerted effort to destroy the societal fabric of this nation. The media (TV, print and social) clearly is leading this charge. "Entertainment" industry as well. And doing so obviously in a collective manner. Just look at the ads......look at the programming.....none of it reflects society accurately in any way. And yet it is constantly there, and influencing the idiots.

I have said this here before and will say it again: most parents do not raise their kids. Society does. Specifically teachers, Hollywood and social media, which are degenerate and do great harm. And then when problems inevitably arise....parents take their "beloved" children to the therapist and demand a "cure". So they already starting to pay the medical industry AS A CHILD! We call those "head meds". And once one is on them, they are on them usually for life. And one pill becomes two.....two becomes four.......and so on. Think of that LIFELONG cash flow!!

There is plenty of blame to go around here. Those at the top are evil. But so are many at the bottom.

People will pay anything to "get/feel" better. The medical community knows this.

They don't make any money on yearly checkups, twice a year teeth cleaning and a yearly eye exam.

They make it on that extra mammogram because "we saw something". They make it on all the drugs even though, as proven, eating a better diet, moving and supplementing for what you're missing is more effective, cheaper and overall better for you.

They make their money on fear. That's it. Scare the beejesus out of someone and you've got them hook, line and sinker.

My Mother is a prime example, though not extreme. No jibbyjab, but the woman drinks diet mountain dew first thing in the morning. She states it's her "coffee". She has legit (not covid caused) afib. I'm sure that giant serving of caffeine and sugar in the am is REALLY helpful!
Um no, my coffee has water, coffee, some butter, HWC, a big dash of cinnamon (anti-inflammatory) and some freshly grated nutmeg (cause I like it). My coffee does not include real or fake sugar, weird colorants, and a list of chemicals. Every time I visit, I look over the countertop and see the cookies, last time there were doughnuts, a cupboard full of processed foods (crackers of all sorts, etc).

I'm tired of hearing people say they want to "get better" but not give up the crap that is making them sick(er) in the first place.

My cupboards look "sad" in comparison: bags of pork rinds - gotta have something to eat tzatziki with, black olives, keto "granola", low sugar sauce. The fridge is full of fresh veg, raspberries, blueberries, celery, and a huge cabbage I'll be making into sauerkraut.

AND I HAVE TO COOK!! Quelle horruere!!

But I've lost 20+ lbs since moving. I'm outside more, generally eat only one meal a day (well before 7pm) and sleeping better.

I'm on no meds. I've even stopped having to supplement with bile salts (no gallbladder).

Yesterday I came across a compounding pharmacy. Had a wonderful chat with the pharmacist and his assistant. Maybe when you tailor things to the individual, your perspective is a little different but they agreed that many people taking meds probably wouldn't need them if they just adjusted their lifestyle.

So to sum up with what TG stated, TPTB (on all levels) are just taking advantage of the fear and laziness of the public. If you're dead, the money spigot shuts off.

Shame on us for allowing it.

PS - on another thread a while back, I had mentioned that one of my goals was to make friends with the somewhat feral cats. Progress has been made!! 3/4 have been treated for ticks and fleas. Two are right now "harassing" me as they want some breakfast. Apparently, salmon and tuna are the way to a cats heart.
I mention this - even though it is of no significance to world - because it is the small triumphs that keep you going. When you get up each day and realize that the world has managed to drop another notch on the O-****-O-METER, these small accomplishments help keep things in perspective. Now I can start my day knowing that I am making progress with the stupid cats. Feels pretty good!

Even though I have zero ****s to give about the whys, whos, and whats in coof/deathstab world, this logical explanation is so valuable. Thanks Spock...I mean Karl.

Found this recently. It is a very nice poem / tribute to those of us who remained steadfast in our beliefs and principles.

Message to the Unvaccinated

"Even if I were pollinated and fully vaccinated, I would admire the Unvaccinated for withstanding the greatest pressure I have ever seen, even from partners, parents, children, friends, colleagues and doctors.

People who were capable of such personality, courage and critical ability are undoubtedly the best of humanity.

They are everywhere, in all ages, levels of education, states and ideas.

They are of a special kind; they are the soldiers that every army of light wants to have in its ranks.

They are the parents that every child wants to have and the children that every parent dreams of having.

They are beings above the average of their societies, they are the essence of the people who have built all cultures and conquered horizons.

They are there, next to you, they look normal, but they are superheroes.

They did what others could not, they were the tree that withstood the hurricane of insults, discrimination and social exclusion.

And they did it because they thought they were alone, and believed they were the only ones.

Banned from their families' tables at Christmas, they never saw anything so cruel.

They lost their jobs, let their careers sink, had no more money... but they didn't care.

They suffered immeasurable discrimination, denunciation, betrayal and humiliation... but they kept going.

Never before in humanity has there been such a "casting", now we know who are the best on planet Earth.

Women, men, old, young, rich, poor, of all races or religions, the Unvaccinated, the chosen of the invisible ark, the only ones who managed to resist when everything collapsed.

That's you, you passed an unimaginable test that many of the toughest Marines, Commandos, Green Berets, astronauts and geniuses could not withstand...

You are made of the stuff of the greatest who ever lived, those heroes born among ordinary men who glow in the dark."

Dr. Robert Malone has a recent posting on the transgender thing. Its also all about the money. At one point during the teens, medical business associated with transgender surgery or care was considered a growth industry with a YOY growth rate of 25%. However, I do think there is an ideological component to the female to male thing.

Do realize that in terms of actual required medical care, other than from trauma, the average child once they reach six or so until they're well into adulthood requires nearly zero money be spent.

If you can turn any percentage of those people into half-million dollar cash cows, well....

I wished my youngest would have been that average child. Unfortunately for him and my pocketbook and the fact he's very active, he's had multiple broken bones. One requiring surgery; his left ring finger was at 90 degrees after a fall and him trying to brace himself. I had to teach him how to fall and not get hurt after that. Wished I had before that. My dad actually taught me how to fall while playing football to help mitigate injury.

Now my other son --- he's just as active but hasn't had all the injuries.

This. Once you are cognizant of the propaganda and how it is being used you can never again not see it. It is as inconspicuous as a brick to the head. And it is constant.

On the rare occasions when I am around a teevee that is playing the sheer amount of ads (propaganda) for pharmaceuticals alone is mind numbing. The images, most of which bear no relationship to reality, are almost overpowering even though I can see them for what they are. (apparently I married the wrong woman as she is as white as I am. Oops.) For people who cannot or will not see the programming for what it is I can only imagine it's power.

Until people willingly turn their electronic companions and propaganda machines off, all of them, I am not hopeful that our current spiral can be reversed.

As to the actual topic of this Ticker itself, whether or not they want to kill us. Since physical death is not the only kind of death, yes they do. Maybe just not in the way that we normally think of. Spiritually and emotionally killing people is still "killing" them and might actually be worse than putting them six feet under. Are you still dead if you don't know it? Look at the people around you next time you are out and about. You'll see dead people.

@Tickerguy - If the motivation of our betters is simply money, how does that explain the policies being taken in the European Union at the moment? Germany and other countries are looking at a serious energy crisis, which will hammer the economy, causing companies to go out of business and people to lose jobs.

At college, the political theory I was exposed to was all about the "growth machine" -- how politicians at all levels, in their own self interest and to get votes -- approve almost anything (siting a factory or waste dump, building a road, setting up a new .gov department, etc.) that will expand GDP.

But right now European politicians seem to be acting directly against the interests of their own people and economies. They are crashing the system. How does this add up, in terms of your view that it's all about money?

Sure, Van der Leyen and other EU elites may hold on to their power and wealth, but still how is an economic depression and related social disorder in their interest? How is crashing the German economy good for the governing class of that country?

I have a theory: c-19 marked the end of the 20th century, and we are now living in the 21st century where the experiences and assumptions that we grew up with no longer apply.

I've read that many historians consider WW1 the end of the 19th century, in the sense that the events of 1914-1918 represented a definitive break from the ways of life preceding it.

Similarly, I propose that 2019 marks the end of the 20th century, where the ways of economics, business, politics, culture, etc. that we grew up with (I was born in the 1970s) have morphed into a new reality that is still taking shape. That is why when we apply the logic that we are used to, we keep asking: are our leaders stupid or evil or incompetent, and yet none of those answers really satisfies. Something else is going on, but what? Examples include the c-19 response, Ukraine, etc.

So, I ask: How can a US president give a speech accusing 1/2 the country of being Nazis? According to 20th century logic, that is unthinkable. But now in our brave new 21st century, the unthinkable has become the new reality.

How could European leaders end energy imports from Russia while shuttering domestic gas, coal and nuke plants, claiming it's to protect the environment and punish Russia -- when the policy clearly achieves neither of those goals, and has a huge economic downside? It's insane according to 20th century thinking. But welcome to the 21st century, where what used to be normal, now isn't.

How could NATO fund and supply a proxy war in Ukraine? Not long ago, this would have been considered geopolitical madness. Not in the 21st century, though.

We are living in an age of chaos. I really get what you're saying that the profit motive explains it. But I'm not sure it explains everything. These leaders are acting in ways that are destabilizing their own societies in such a way as to undermine the very systems that generate the wealth that makes their life of luxury possible.

To conclude, would you like a little clown world story? The Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala recently gave a primetime TV address to the nation about energy. He said we all need to act reasonably and responsibly in the face of energy shortages, which is all Putin's fault. Czechia gets something like 98% of its natgas from Russia, but Fiala said the long term goal must be to end Czech dependence on Russian gas, because Ukraine. What he is really proposing, is ending Czech dependence on gas at all (since it all comes from Russia) -- and yet the country's entire industrial and household infrastructure is based on gas. There is no substitute, but he says we must stop using gas. It's crazy. His policy will make his own people cold and hungry this winter. Maybe he's getting paid off by the US Deep State to pursue such policies and so he thinks he won't suffer, even if the rest of us do. But his policy position defies everything I learned about what motivates politicians in a democracy (i.e., my 20th century thinking). How could a PM in a European country choose policies that will obviously cause the destruction of his own domestic economy and plunge his own people into unemployment, hunger, cold, and darkness? Where is the money in that?

The clown world part is this: a group of young school kids recently met with the Prime Minister, and he gave each of them a copy of a classic children's book. It is a story of a family of beetles who live in a little cottage. The book ends thus: a cold winter comes, and in the spring none of the family has survived. You can imagine the jokes this provoked, recalling the black humor people used to survive the absurdities, scarcities, and mismanagement by the ruling class during the communist times.

I just realized that with all of this money grubbing on the part of medical, education, and housing markets; that we have now become like Japan in this regard.

Those who have lived there know full well how Japan's domestic economy is completely built around extracting money out of you literally every time you turn around. This is especially true with the having and raising of children. One example is those school uniforms cost the equivalent of $2000 per kid per year. That, and how most people now live in high rise condos, make having children unattractive. As consequence, birth rates are very low in Japan.

We have become a lot like Japan over the past 30 years. Our medical and education establishments have become total moochers, consuming an every increasing share of the GDP. As with Japan, the logical consequence of this is now showing up in the U.S., in the form of reduced birth rates.

Education is the biggest moocher, with its costs going up six times, accounting for inflation, since 1990. The medical establishment is trying its best to compete by pushing all of its BS as well. Housing is a part of this as well. I believe that housing around "good" schools sells at a 40-60% premium compared to comparable housing in either poor school districts or where there are no schools at all. Our domestic economy has also restructured itself around rent extraction, much like Japan's domestic economy.

It's all in the mitochondria.

"It's the future,'re not."

Your example of the finger guard on the saw made me think of Scripture. I know there are principles in there about taking care of your workers. This is the first I found as I'd heard it discussed recently but I'm sure there are others.

Deuteronomy 24:1415

[14] You shall not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners who are in your land within your towns. [15] You shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets (for he is poor and counts on it), lest he cry against you to the LORD, and you be guilty of sin. (ESV)
