Abbott should just build a STATE wall 3 feet inside the TX border and "deport" people to the other side of it

Did they abort the JABS after faking THOSE tests?

speaking of slavery, has anyone seen the absolute BURN don lemonhead received? he was chatting with a Brit and brought up "reparations for slavery" and she replied with (paraphrased) yes absolutely, there should be reparations! The British were the first to outlaw slavery and many seamen died trying to stop it so we should all definitely go back to Africa and demand reparations for all of those deaths and the slaves from the kings of the African tribes that were selling their own (and captives) to the slave traders.

idiot talking head had absolutely NO REPLY, truly fun to watch

leave it to a British white woman to basically tell him to FOAD in regards to the Brits and reparations

Stole this from a meme on another forum.

The folks at Martha's Vineyard received more military assistance than the soldiers in Benghazi did.

Think about that.

Ahhh...loved being a kid in the 1970s. Smear the queer was played at just about every recess, and it is the only reason that I was in the Cub Scouts.

Today, it would be national news. Seriously. National news. No exaggeration.

We would all be subject to a "summit" with sexual degenerates, if that happened. That Toronto shop teacher would likely be a keynote.

Meanwhile...White kids get terrorized by Diversity at school and nobody says a fucking word.

Dodgeball was deadly. I think we all still have some pock marks on our faces from that red round thing. The sound of it smashing into your temple/jaw/forehead...whatever, is unforgettable. Waffle weave imprint. PING. And your ass was out. You sucked and that was it, you sucked. But...you learned from it. Eventually, for most, you figured it out and became a better dodgeball player. Or at least, a lesser target.

Now, let's discuss Red Rover. We used to wreck our classmates on that. Lol. (insert devil face smiley here)

@Tickerguy

The only problem is the National Guard can be federalized by order of the CinC. Eisenhower did it to Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus to desegregate the schools in Arkansas. Faubus ordered the AR National Guard to stop desegregation and Eisenhower federalized them and made them enforce it along with the 101st Airborne.

@Hobbled

As a DC native I lean more South then North in my thinking. I am vehemently opposed to slavery, discrimination, and Affirmative Action. I think the South leaned more to the original intent of the founding fathers and the Constitution than the North.

Our country has been in a civil war for the past 30 years if not longer. The seeds of it go back to Woodrow Wilson and FDR. the regressive Progressive politicians and their followers like power over others. Personal Freedom is not in their vocabulary. Neither is morality.

Our politicians in DC no longer act with what would be honor and integrity. Power, greed and money are the new political wants. People who want all three cannot have a free, educated, and financially independent populace as their constituency.

Ahhhh....@Mjeff87...the good ol' days!! Remember actual jungle gyms? With monkey bars high up in the air and a firemans pole even higher?

Red Rover was my game. I could fly like the wind and rarely couldn't break through! My sister (who is WAY more competitive though younger) ended up face first into the gym wall (concrete). She would hit so hard, kids started just letting go of their hands.She had some nice stitches under her bottom lip. (this was in winter time when it was just too cold or wet to be outside)

Now you look at a playground and everything is extra big, screws are covered, lots of "cushioning" on the ground. In keeping their "babies safe" parents have kept them babies forever.

Like many less than fatal things, dodgeball made me stronger.

Every so often I used to employ a sneaky underhanded strategy. I'd stand on the edge not doing anything and getting thoroughly ignored until I was the last kid standing. Then I'd dodge like a motherfucker long enough to win it for my team and get everybody back in the ring.

Every couple of years, I used our Dodgeball Extravaganza at our church youth group nights to teach small unit tactics. I'm no expert on the topic by any means, but there are things you do, and things you don't, and the difference means not getting dead.

We did play co-ed teams most of the time; when we did not the girls took to it like nobodies business once they figured out it was the only way to win against the guys who just used sheer power in their throws. The guys that did that generally wanted to be heroes and "died" very early in each round. The "dead" stayed where they were hit, either standing, lying or sitting, and provided cover for those still avoiding a pummeling. So if you 'died' early, chances are you got clobbered more than once. Anyone deliberately hitting a 'dead' player 'died' on the spot, too.

Early in the evening 'respawns' were allowed. Later, nope. Winners got bragging rights and first crack at pizza. Thirty or forty kids to a side and twenty playground balls, inflated to a decently high pressure = chaos.

I'm sure I worked in a Biblical lesson in there, but have no idea what those were twelve years out.

I've got remembrances of my childhood all over my body. Stitches in my head from a rock fight I had with my friends. Scar on my thigh from trying to build a "rocket ship" in the basement. Broken collarbone from being a little asshole running down a hill at camp, trying to be the first one at the chow hall. And a really nice scar on my left leg from it getting folded underneath a merry go round at the projects playground....the kind that you get on and self propel by kicking your leg to make it spin. And yet, somehow I'm still alive.

I was never the most athletic kid. Played soccer, but defense, so I never ran past midfield. Baseball, I got put into right field like most other kids who had no idea what they were doing. That lasted long enough until coach realized I had absolutely zero skill in throwing the ball back in on a play. I had the arm and distance, but couldn't hit the relay kid or even worse a run back to a base or a throw to home to save my life. That ball would sail past whatever I was aiming for right into the backstop, or parking lot. Then I got moved to first base and found my mojo. I could catch whatever the fuck was thrown at me from anywhere and still keep my foot on the base somehow. I got nicknamed the shaggin' wagon. Proud of that. Tried out for football in HS....the very first practice I got hit so hard by the biggest kid in the school that I literally flew off my feet and my ears rang for the rest of the day. Decided right there that it was not the sport for me.

Now I avoid physical conflict as much as possible, and carry a 9mm.

Most of us that are O6 and below retired and left as soon as we could so as not to endure the current abortion of Obama's purge. Most of the remaining leadership is woke and weak regardless of their rank. Most of my buddies still in are anxiously waiting for pensions to qualify for and then they're gone.

If those who stayed in just to qualify for a pension didn't consider that the passage of the Patriot Act and similar pieces of legislation and their being upheld all the way up through the USSC were the early stages of fecal matter hitting the fan, I have no confidence they will will stand up for anything when the mass finally goes critical.

The absolute best watermelon I ever had was purchased from a roadside homestead/stand somewhere in far southern GA. The problem with mass market watermelons is that they are crossbread to produce uber thick rinds to be able to survive the transport process to market in huge Gaylord boxes. They are an extreme PITA to transport in bulk and that's why all the the globomarket ones suck so bad. Find a local grower, pay them the monies and enjoy what the damn thing is supposed to be.

Main problem with almost every store bought fruit is that they are cross bred for certain characteristics to make them useful to retail. Thicker rind, tougher skin, etc. Also, and more important to us - they prioritize shelf life over taste.

Bananas are one of the only fruits this doesn't affect.

I hate most store bought fruit. I don't even buy honeydew melons because they aren't ever any good. I hope to be able to grow a nice heirloom variety of them at some point. Couple of other melons I'd like to try too, but they are by far my favorite.
