Let's see if I can make this less complicated. Yellen knows she's lying (she's a tribes type of gal). Yellen knows that we (the unwashed goyem) knows she's lying. ....she (and the rest of the (((tribe))) know that as long as there's sufficient amounts of high fructose corn syrup that in general, the goyem will remain blissfully asleep in their elastic waistband shorts.

The energy derived from fossil fuels is for THEM, not us, you see. THEY will continue to jet around to have lunch in gay Paree, dinner at Sardis, followed by theater tickets, then off to ski in Aspen. Expect to see a revival of the Concord by Lockheed Martin within the next ten years.

You, my soiled friends, will shiver in the dead if winter, sweat your balls off in
the unrelenting heat of summer, and accept that your little boy thinks he's a girl and wants to cut off his testicles.

And very soon, if you object to ANY of it, you will find your guaranteed social income cut out until you make a very humble and public apology.

That's the plan.

Glad I could be of some service. Happy Juneteenth, bitcheZ!

Boredfree-I feel a day is coming when someone has had enough and they will snap. When they do, it might trigger others. Then the dominoes will fall.

I've been on this rock for six decades. Still waiting for the goy to wake the f*ck up. It ain't happening, my friend.

Well, there's still bread in the stores, and the internet is still on. I'm curious how the population would react to such a thing. This is NOT the 1930s. Our culture will not collapse constructively, it will be deconstructive.

I go back and forth between wishing the elites dead now in their old age, or to live long enough to suffer for their wrongs.

The professional politicians running our government probably don't have enough college level credits in physics, chemistry, math or biology amongst themselves to amount to enough credits for a bachelor's degree. Their lack of understanding of the physical world is ruining this country.
Let's discard reliable energy for the renewable feelz. How many businesses can operate with unreliable energy? Try to maintain a workforce when they have to be told "sorry, but there's not enough wind/sun for power, check back with us next week if the wind is blowing or the sun is shining'.

My response is always, "No, he isn't."

Exactly!

Not only that but as Karl has warned about repeatedly once you fuck all the people, companies & infrastructure over, it's gonna be way harder to un-fuck it all.

Biden is playing "chicken" with an iceberg. And once the iceberg is hit, you can change course all you like but what's coming is coming.

First you roll to hit, then you roll another another for damage...

That's the way the game is played!

Well, Germany decided to go "black" fa while. They are firing up those coal plants as Putin squeezes the gas supply. So much for sanctioning Russia. Coming back to bite them in the ass.
Now, we have young men and women just dying over there for this war. Will not get a chance to live out their average days on this rock. It would make sense that Zelen. go to the table a negotiate with Putin to end this killing on both sides. Ukraine will be smaller no matter what, either through continued killing or signatures to it. So why the continued loss of life and property? Senseless ego at the cost of human lives.

Swredpill, generators are a temporary fix. Unless you have a huge fuel tank and unlimited repair parts, a generator is not going to help you for long. Some of the larger industrial generators can do 2,500 hours continuous but they have to be shut down for oil and air filter changes.
Got plenty of spares?
The generators I see people installing are pretty much standby type generators for power failures. Not long-term solutions. And if you have a NG generator hooked to a utility service and that utility service cannot access gas because the pipeline compressors are down due to electrical failures. you wading in deep kimchi

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.
-- Joseph Goebbels

I think this frames up the Biden/Left's approach to all thing Climate Change pretty well....

All power generation is intermittent, but the periods & frequency differ.
E.g., they are having more difficulty out West because traditionally reliable hydro base power is being impacted by drought. All plants require maintenance & have unexpected downtime.

The answer to generation intermittency is the scale of the grid, which allows one to dispatch power from the next closest reserve capacity. Everything can be modelled and planned, although redundancy has costs, and the costs have to be in line with the probabilities of damages/benefits.

Texas has been caught numerous times with lack of scale, unable to expand the scale of the grid beyond its own weather emergencies and other contingencies ... they obviously have problems modelling the required resiliency and concomitant investment, passing the risk/damages on to consumers.

For various renewable power generation plants, there are also resiliency options, since the wind is always blowing somewhere and there is always sun somewhere: wind at night and solar during the day correspond quite serendipitously with demand cycles, which themselves can be adjusted with variable pricing. The cost of (subterranean/submerged) HVDC grid expansion and reserve generating capacity can also be modelled and priced. However, the logistics & pricing models are firmly in the grips of ideology & politics.

@Tdurden: I get them for 1500-2500 when they break. Those nice 750LI BMWs. Then I fix all that is broken, engine rebuild, transmissions, computers and everything in between. Now I have several nice running cars that others want to pay me 5000 to 8000 for. I am rarely in for more that $3500 after fixing everything. And I don't take checks or electronic payments, only paper Benjamins. Nice hobby that pays for itself, instead of me forking over $$ to keep a hobby going.

Yellen is paid by the taxpayers to lie continuously to the taxpayers, on behalf of whatever group is pulling her strings.

Yellen is another multimillionaire who has enriched herself via her appointed positions, and continuously rewarded for saying the "right" things at the right times.

All of these Washington insider types must be eliminated until we reach a layer of people (if it is even possible), that aren't working for a cartel.

You know that various pundits see some really bad shit happening 2024-2026, our gracious host here included.

These Janet Yellen types are today creating the conditions for those hard times with all of their stupidity.

Over on Ars Technica, some idiots this morning have an article saying high gas prices are great!

https://arstechnica.com/information-tech....

This is what you get when unelected, senile, 70+ year olds are allowed to be appointed to, and keep power. By keeping energy prices high they are engineering the collapse caused by food shortages, gas shortages, etc. Add in a healthcare shortage, our poor education, massive immigration, and it's going to be party time.

Oh yeah, we also have the ammo shortage so government can gun you down but you can't fire back.

Shortages, rationing, price controls... these are all the things the Biden administration has planned for us.

The leftists have all been brainwashed. They are victims of a psy-op run by Communist China and by the Blackrock/Vanguard/State Street monsters who are in bed with China -- the combination being what Peter Breggin calls "the global predators."

Communist China, which largely OWNS our universities, media, and Hollywood, means to destroy our country, and the way to accomplish that is with "green" bullshit, wokeism, bankruptcy, and civil war.

I always have to fight the temptation to hate rank-and-file leftists. I have to remind myself that they are victims of a psy-op. The people to hate are the traitors in high places who willingly collaborated with China and sold out their own country.

But rank-and-file zombies can be dangerous. Just because rank-and-file leftists may be psy-op victims worthy of pity, that doesn't mean they might not kill me and mine. That's the thing about true psy-ops/brainwashing: it really does rewire a person's psyche. It can actually turn formerly peaceful people into murderers. So while I try not to hate them in my heart, I nevertheless try to cut them a wide berth.

It is the $100 Trillion Green New Starve. I don't know what it is going to cost to build, but it will cost $100 trillion to use. In the meantime, the emerging world will be the owners of conventional energy and they won't give it back. The US, Canada and Europe will go the way of the third world.

When oil went above $140 in 2008, I never paid $4 a gallon for gas. That should say enough. At least $1 a gallon is because Biden and company have created a shortage in refining and probably $1.50.

I checked my electric usage and cost estimate. Looks like $325 to $350. Up $100 from any month last year. 40% isn't 8%. Gasoline has nearly doubled here, as I made note of the last $1.99 gas I bought after Bidenstein came in. That was March. Over 100%.

I not only remember the 1970's. I followed the story. Gas lines. What caused gas lines was the Democrats put in price controls. They are talking about it again. I think about how long I have to wait for gas when I price shop. Time is worth something. 20 cents a gallon, 15 gallons is $3. If you time is worth $10 an hour, you can wait 15 minutes. If they put controls on, you won't have a choice as we will likely have the gas line monster.

Climate change is the same as the CV19 scam, complete with jabs. They took a few years data, rigged the prior data and created a story, then lied about it over and over. Then when something happened that has always happened in the past, they scream climate change. There are a bunch of dead cows in Kansas. I will bet they were poisoned, but the are screaming climate change. What about concrete change?

The Biden regulators are attacking us. The baby formula shortage was intentional. Maybe it was stupid intentional, but after the jabs, which were an abject failure and still being pushed, I put nothing past the FDA.

Just about everything I see is up 30% to 50%. It has all been caused by Biden energy policy and totalitarian virus policy. Yellen was an idiot at the Fed, a bubble economist. These people are anti economics.

One more thing. Inflation has nothing to do with prices. Prices have to do with inflation. Yellen has been a key charactor. Throw in costly regulations and you get a bomb.

I never said it was a good solution. Unlike some of my competitors I carefully explain this to my customers and many decide to not do a generator. However, the want is still for there for some and I'm paid to provide. This mornings 14kw genset roared to life and customer has 900 gallons of propane on a nominal 3kw load. Should be over 2500 hours of back up. I don't expect it to see much real use.

I disagree. The "true believer" rank-and-file leftists actually believe all that shit. I know whereof I speak, since I ran in those circles myself many years ago.

They're wrong, and they say things that are false, but they don't KNOW those things are false. The word "lie" entails intent to deceive, speaking false things deliberately.

That characterizes the Goebbels types at the top, but not the "useful idiots."

As I said earlier, that doesn't make ordinary leftists any less dangerous to me and mine, but it means I don't hate them the same way I hate the orchestrators at the top.

By the way, what finally impelled me to divorce myself from the Left was the abortion issue. I had spent 20 years in the peace movement, and during all that time, I often tried to win over these supposed proponents of nonviolence, who just had a huge, dark blind spot with respect to violence against the most innocent, defenseless people of all. I finally got tired of banging my head against the wall, and I slowly realized that people who were that obtuse on an issue that should have been blatantly obvious to them might just be wrong on some other issues too....

And sure enough, yep, they are, on everything from guns and climate change to Covid and the war in Ukraine.

Let me repeat myself... They've financialized every possible "asset" on the face of the earth and the ponzi is about to collapse. They are so desperate to keep the ponzi going the only thing left to financialize is carbon.

Janet Yellen is a ruling class political animal first and and an "economist" as a distant second.

So let's see for anyone not vastly rich or seriously poor:

Over 70: You allowed this to happen. Please die already (except those that I love).
50 - 70: Your life has been a financial fiction. You were the sucker and you're still the sucker.
30 - 50: The party's over so fuck even trying. Might as well steal everything not nailed down.
0 - 30: You're so fucked you're gonna wish you weren't born. Good luck with what's left.

Thoughts?

I would love to know what type of grift the Rs have up their sleeve once they gain "control" of Congress. They have always loved the old "public-private partnership" grift, especially with a little "faith-based" grift thrown on top of it. They also whole heartedly embrace, along with the Ds, that "little people" just want expect too much and should suck it up as their "betters" earned the right to make these decisions for them.

What is 100% certain is that the average Joe/Jane will receive next to no benefit from whatever they have planned. The smiley will continue until morale improves! smiley
