A few observations. 1) I'm glad I grew up in a semi-normal world. A man was a man and if acted like or wanted to be a girl he got either made fun or or his ass kicked. It wasn't celebrated that you had something wrong with you. 2) I'm glad my children are out of high school. We had them in private school until the 9th grade. 3) When the heck did going to school become a food transfer program? Me and the kids always packed our lunches and took them to school. We traded with other kids in the lunchroom. Too many people having kids they can't afford to feed. 4) What a bunch of demonic perverts running government. 5) It's past time for a national divorce. America has become Sodom and Gomorrah.

@Abelardlindsey

It's NOT just liberal-left types that love this kind of power.

Most Cons love government power when it's used for things THEY want done. They worship at the throne of military might. They have no problem with big daddy gov compelling others to die in wars they support, force them pay lip service to their version of religious belief, demand obedience to restrictive laws that they like, ect.

TG makes this clear in this post - it is about government power, not left-right. Cons need to understand this (I won't hold my breath). Any "red wave" this November will just bring a whole new batch of freedom destroying legislation, not a curtail on government power. That ship sailed long ago. Now that power is being used against them, tough shit.

To the smiley and smiley for authoritarians of all stripes.

@ Neal,

100% correct....the majority of women vote socially liberal (young ones almost exclusively so), let them have the consequences good, hard and very deep. They vote to culturally destroy you, me and anyone else based in reality....I will support their self-destruction as well. What choice do we have? They are the majority.

I relish the thought of young men "identifying" as women and taking all those undeserved scholarships, grants, etc. away from natural women. In fact they can scream "discrimination!!" if denied! And the best part is they don't need surgery or hormones....just "identify" as a woman and it's all good. Perhaps that is why the vast majority or trans are male to women, and not the other way around?

You gotta out-crazy the crazy. It will be interesting to watch!

we had an extended family member who lived in Germany for a bit and homeschooling is strictly not allowed over there, which was a bit surprising.

I'm surprised you don't remember this, the German family who sought political asylum in the U.S. because the German government threatened to seize the children and throw the parents in prison for daring to homeschool:
https://hslda.org/post/us-government-see....

It was all over Christian radio at the time. Thousands of us wrote letters in support of the family. Perhaps in response to that public outcry, the DHS did ultimately decide to let the family stay.

Even MSM scum ABC News covered the story:
https://abcnews.go.com/US/home-schooling....

The Obama Administration did initially try to deport them, but eventually changed its mind. If the same situation arose today, I'm not sure the Biden Junta would allow such a family to stay, no matter how great the public outcry.

With respect to the clip @Evilcecil posted from J.P., I've read that depressing book and it wasn't really a bit at a time for the people to go off into the abyss. In the beginning of the book the reserve police commander gets in front of his men before they are getting deployed to the ghettos to do their round-ups and seems disturbed and tells the men that they are going to be asked to do some unpleasant things and that if anyone wants to back out now is the time. Guess how many leave? Did you guess zero?

We homeschooled all 11 of our children. Our youngest is 10, so still a way to go.
When we started 30 years ago, we were almost all alone. People accused us of raising "wolf children" and threatened to call the authorities.

But we were undeterred and by the time our oldest reached college, they were actively recruiting the homelschooled. I wrote his high school transcript. It said, "D.. has never received grades because they are unnecessary in our one on one environment. Here are the subjects he is proficient in... Here are the extracurricular activities he's involved in. Here are his IQ, ACT, and SAT scores, all in the top 2%." And that was basically it. He now has a degree in classical piano and teaches. I have two other college graduates (American Sign Language and Mechanical Engineering) and I barely finished high school!

I'm not saying this to brag but to encourage anyone who may be considering home schooling. You can do it! It's easier now than ever. We were at the forefront of setting up co-ops without even intending to. We networked and found people we could swap teaching responsibilities with in subjects we didn't excel at. The co-ops are everywhere now. Our youngest attend a local co-op a few days a week a few hours a day and take classes ala carte in subjects they want to learn or ones we don't feel comfortable teaching.

Anyone on the fence, please take a serious look at it and all the resources available now. You won't regret it!

I notice some here are home schooling their children. How do you handle the STEM subjects when they get to the last year or two of high school? I mean courses like advanced algebra, calculus, physics and chemistry? Unless one or both parents have a technical background and know the subjects themselves their children are going to be very lacking in those areas if they intend to go on to study STEM in university.

Our teachers were on strike for a time in my last year of high school and my parents were thinking of sending us to a Mennonite school in our rural community. Of course none of these courses would be covered and it would have completely blown getting admitted into an engineering program like I intended. My parents were not big on thinking things through.

The strike ended and it turned out alright. But I'm thinking home schoolers face a similar problem with children intending a real career in STEM, like engineering, physics or chemistry, or mathematics. Are there home school tutors or community teachers to help teach these topics at the level necessary for university?

Kudos to you and your wife!

My late husband and I did not homeschool our two boys, but our small rural school was at that time very, very solid.

Unfortunately, my acquaintances inform me that our high school now has three students who "identify" as... cats.

My question is always: WHERE/WHO ARE THE PARENTS??? Who exactly are these people who let their kids walk out the door every morning as "cats"??

Re: homeschooling. My niece, a non-churchgoing, hippie-type, never-married single mom was so opposed to the school-mandated suffocation of her daughter (commonly referred to by the euphemism "mask-wearing") that she opted to homeschool her daughter, who was in 1st grade at the time. My niece had a full-time remote-work job taking phone calls from people needing tech help. She would get her daughter started on a lesson in between phone calls, work with her until the phone rang again, go take the call, then go back to check on her daughter's progress in between calls... all day long. You can imagine the stress of that kind of juggling all day every day. But she did it. Masks are clearly child abuse, and she was NOT going to let anyone abuse her daughter.

I tell everyone that if a single parent with a full-time job could homeschool, ANYONE could do it. Where there's a will, there's a way.

My niece's mom and I did help out a couple days a week. My job was to accompany my great-niece to/in the one-day-a-week group meeting/classes of a program called "Classical Conversations"
https://classicalconversations.com/
which many homeschooling families in our area participate in. I cannot recommend that program highly enough. It's amazing.

I doubt the menu has changed much since I was connected with the school. Breakfast was all sugar and carbs, lunch wasn't much better. Behavior issues in school? Breakfast and lunch should come with a spatula with each kid so you can scrape 'em off the wall from all the sugar. If the fed gov pays for that kind of crap food, the better that they stop paying for it. Some of the parents aren't much better, seeing what comes to school in those lunch boxes...

I was in my town's library. Up on the second floor they have a "pride" bookshelf in the area where the teens like to congregate after school, and another one in little kids section. I'm talking the toddlers to elementary school section- it has a small bookcase with various "pride" books, a little rainbow flag, etc., right in the middle of the story-time area.
I'm rarely in the library, but I don't remember ever seeing "pride" stuff like this in years past. Certainly not in the kids area.
I politely voice an objection to the librarian in the kids section.
She says well we're just promoting pride.
Yes, but why do little kids need to know about any of this?
Deer in the headlights look for about half a second. She recovers quickly and says would you like to speak to the director?
Yes, please.
Jots her info down for me, I leave and ask for the director at the main desk. She's out.
When I get home, I send her an email noting my objection and asking for her to remove the pride stuff from the kids and teens areas.
No response yet. We'll see if I get one. I am under no illusions that I am likely spitting into the wind on this.
But guess who will now be researching, among other things, how much annual funding my town provides to the library? And do you think our mayor and town council should go on record as to whether they approve of this or not?
The left plays for keeps, folks. We have no choice but to actively oppose them, not just complain online about what's going on.

Check out a local community college for those types of courses. Bonus to get community college credit and high school credit all in one.

It is time t break this shit up. We should start with getting rid of left extortion groups like the NEA and teachers unions, which have nothing to do with whether kidsget educated. We should get rid of the Prussian system that leads to government domination and mindless kids. Stop illegal immigration and give those centered around a 100 IQ, +/- 5 something to do, besides going to college and amassng debt serving another education scam. Fourth, we need to get rid of Federal funds for everything, leave the taxes in the States and give these idiots a one way ticket to Afghanistan.

Maybe the proper response would be to refuse the funds and get rid of all Federal mandates. He who has the gold makes the rule. Maybe it is time to kick the IRS out of States.

Remember the creep who raped a girl in the girls bathroom in the Virginia school last year? Had dad of the raped girl performed a shotgun "pecker-ectomy" on the rapist, I'll bet that would put the fear into a lot of creeps wanting to cruise the girls room.
What a toxic, perverted bunch of assholes Biden has making policy. He's been a creep even before dementia reduced some of his inhibitions.

@Heartlander - I had forgotten that episode until you mentioned it. But yes, that is/was just crazy.
@Wd - as far as STEM subjects, there are different ways to handle that. There are a lot of online classes, some free, some pay-per-class. There are also book-based curricula, including labs. Lab kits ran $200-300 depending on the subject, but that's been a few years.
Also many local community colleges have those courses available as well, and so far they seem to be much less woke/progressive/etc, and more attended by kids who are working, want to learn, going into trades, etc. Although I'm sure that's eroding as well.

Of course young women are SJW's they are daddys little princesses and they grew up in the well documented princess syndrome where if I look pretty some wild stallion will come and marry me and life will be great, until the boobs sag and the kids are bratty and I gain 25 lbs and he dumps me because I have turned into a bitch. I have been wondering if this was the impetus behind my kids' schools saying "No more free lunches this year." For whatever reason, during the last two (covid, duh) years, all three kids (two at elementary, 1 in high school) ate "free" unless they wanted extra helpings, which dumbass high school boys always do.

This was actually a COVID "rescue bill" item from early 2020, the USDA funded "free school lunches" for all regardless of income or status. They announced this spring the funding would not continue past I believe June 30, so back to "normal" for next year.
My two kids at our Catholic school partook multiple times per week. Going to be a shock to them when we pack their lunches every day next year as the school lunch price will be $3 (!!!) next school year.

On the flip side, interestingly enough, religious schools are exempt from this proposed tranny bathroom school lunch funding mandate. Not that I suspect many that can afford to attend private school qualify for the free lunches.

Wd: there are many ways. Community college courses, specific curriculum, and co-op resources are the best ones. But even if you yourself don't feel confident to teach it, youtube alone has nearly infinite resources to get them (and you!) familiar with basic concepts so that they can jump into a course at some point and be ready to go. There are other online resources, too

Don't sell yourself short, and don't be wedded to the idea that YOU are the one who has to provide all the knowledge. Think of yourself as the educational concierge, and figure out how to get these experiences for your children.

Good luck!
