Well it's one thing for Chester the Molester to******kids when he doesn't worship the Anti-Unauthorized-Sex God. But I would have expected a PRIEST of that God to be held to a higher standard, watched more closely, and at least seen to it in the case of such a transgression that that priest doesn't get to claim to be this God's priest until he has properly attoned.

Regarding free will generally, How about some free will to create energy as needed, or at least recycle it from waste heat? God may punish murder after the fact, but He still lets us do it. The other two things God doesn't even let us do. (The sheer unbreakability of these laws, combined with knowing a LOT of people in IT, is why I have come to believe that God DOES exist. To wit, unbreakability does not occur by accident; it requires deliberate effort, attention, and knowing what the **** one is doing!)

This suggests to me that it's more important to God that we eventually run out of stuff than that we refrain from murdering each other.

@Burya_rubenstein " God may punish murder after the fact, but He still lets us do it. The other two things God doesn't even let us do."

Very good question! I am not sure if I can answer that but I will try anyways.

A human being is a much higher order system, meaning that it is far more evolved over millions of years, than a physical system. The human system consists of multiple layers, starting from the lowest layer, permeated by food, and ending with the highest layer consisting of "Truth Consciousness Bliss".

Being a higher order system of nature, allows us to make choices.

But, our so-called free will is no match for the Will of God.

Our current choices are determined by our inherent tendencies or inclinations, that we are born with, and the Classical Conditioning that we go through because of our repetitive past choices.

So, even our so called free will is as per God's Will of eternal cause effect relationships, and, of course, God is the ultimate cause of all causes!

Only God exists! There is no devil other than one created by man's own choices.

God gives us tremendous latitude to live our lives as per our choices but never allows us to break God's Will of eternal cause effect relationships.

If we live our lives as per the Will of God, we can evolve ourselves, through our own choices, to the highest layer of man's existence of "Truth Consciousness Bliss", as close to God as one can be. After all, God created man in His own image and I and the Father are one. If God did not give us "choice", we would have stayed as dirt!

Whitehat

My people came here later. They came from the North and sometimes East of Europe and had what is politely called a problem with authority that led them to leave the church of Rome.

My Grandfather, who as whole was not a bigoted man, never trusted the Catholic church. Never.

We are Protestant, but he always told use grandkids "Father so and so may be Christian and a good man, but never forget the Catholic Church is about power and not about Jesus". In our small town, well we were small enough the KoC and what not did not matter.

When I lived in Chicago I saw what meant. Tribal in a way. As German Protestants, we did not have a strong side. But it was obvious how the local Bishop was quick to point our failings out while handing communion to a gay pro abortion politician.

Tribal. You only care about your tribe, and not about what your stated beliefs are.
