"Common Sense" is just another bullshit term made up by assholes that want to control society. Fuck anyone using that shit anywhere and everywhere. Everything that comes out of FJB is complete bullshit not based in any reality. Most everyone probably saw the clip if the assclown talking about how the 9mm bullet "blows out the lung", like it's the most dangerous bullet in existence, and there is "no reason for anyone to have that type of ammunition". Anyone with any experience with firearms knows that 9mm is a pretty low powered round and isn't appropriate for hunting anything like a deer, even at close range. But all of a sudden it's the deadliest round on the planet. Why?, because most semi-auto pistols people buy for self defense are chambered in 9mm, so they have to demonize the round. These people are so full of shit, it oozes out of every orifice, and they can all eat shit and die. We have reached the stage in this society that we are on the edge of mass violence as the only thing that fixes the "stupid". The crazy left have overplayed their hand the last couple years and richly deserve the ass fucking they've got coming, and believe me; when it starts most everyone I know are in the "no mercy" camp.
I feel as if the mere discussion of "common sense," even in the cynical tone of this ticker, is effectively letting them set the rules of engagement. There is no "middle ground" and there is no "dialogue" to be had. No, we can't "have a conversation" about it. There isn't "room for discussion."
There is one valid reply to any and all of this: Fuck you.
Justify what I choose to own? Fuck you. Be reasonable? Fuck you. You don't feel "safe" around guns? Fuck you. Appeals to authority? Fuck you. It's a "living document"? Fuck you. Records or mandatory training? Fuck you. Ask for permission to exercise a basic right? Fuck you.
The phrase "common sense" is just a loaded term intended to put us on the defensive, and everyone involved knows this. So why bother with debate or discussion at all? But perhaps the part leftists don't understand (yet) is that the vast majority of Americans who own those 400 million guns are not interested in "debate".
How about this: common sense says a human fetus is a living person. We could do this all day.
If an unborn human is supposed to be a "fetus", why isn't the protruding belly of a pregnant woman informally known as a "fetus bump" rather than a "baby bump"?

Common sense is that the guardrails of civilization are bloody. It is a fantasy that we can outgrow violence.
Common sense is that there needs to be men to bring about that bloodshed, should the need arise.

"Common Sense" requires one be smart enough or self-aware enough to equate actions with consequences in the Real World, not the dystopian utopian fantasy academics and most other folks nowadays "live" in nowadays.
And I'm afraid that Real Life will continue to be evaded by them unless and until they are confronted with imminent death. Maybe.
Now taxpayer funded scholarships are a different l matter but even there it is possible that certain scholarships are reasonable (for example returning GIs after the war).
Respectfully disagree. Not a "scholarship" if part of a contract.
If one is to take the dude in @Scottj175s link at his word what would he say if my truth said to kill anyone, including, him that simply upset me? Would that truth be ok to him?
All of us with sense ( I am not using common ) would understand the question and the logic. And immediately see there is a foundation for truth.
But Im afraid 99% of the population do not.
Now, I guess I do mean here to proselytize as my faith tells me in Romans 1 what is happening and has been happening and will happen.
It simply astounds me, but it shouldnt given my beliefs, that those that promote there is not truth want their truth to be followed. Hypocrisy.
Common sense is a misnomer. Of course any politician using that phrase is really saying just accept their BS without any justification. Similar to ignorant children who tell each other, "if you don't know then I'm not telling you."
Prepare to lose a few IQ points watching this video.
If there is any doubt that the FJB assclowns have ANY SENSE at all just look at what they did this week by announcing they were sending long range precision rockets to the Nazi Ukrainians. Now the headline today: "Russia Threatens To Strike The West If U.S. Supplied Rockets Hit It's Territory". This Ticker People is how the world ends, with this type of extreme lunacy. And these FUCKING IDIOTS are the same MORONS that talk down to us about "common sense" gun laws? Damn them and Fuck them all to hell with the rustiest, longest fence post you can find wrapped in barbed wire.
Asking Democrats and most Republicans for commn sense? They have the Green New starvation, passed on a rumor. They are more dangerous than Hitler and they want our guns.
Common sense is to feed the corpse of shooters to pigs on live TV, live, if they aren't dead. Stupid is to let any of these genocidal criminals disarm us.

The problem with these idiots is they always focus on the exception to the rule. I think the last lynching of any type was when 2 newly released white prisoners grabbed a retarded black guy and drug him behind a pickup truck. That was back in the 1990's. I bet there are plenty of the reverse. The westerns mentioned lynch mobs all the time. Plenty of them were white, usually outsiders.
What occurs when schools drop their entry standards is they drop their standards across the board. Is there any bigger fraud than public education. Common sense would shut it down
Common sense says you build an economy on burning hydrocarbons, then ban them or diminish them, people are going to starve. These idiots, when you ask for anything that makes sense, scream people are going to die. They don't have any evidence. The evidence is more likely what they are protecting is killing people or at least consuming lifetimes for little return (Ill timed traffic lights might save a few lives, but they consume thousands, in sum and waste gas.) They scream people are going to die, if Roe is overturned. Killing babies makes death, in many eyes, so people are going to die either way.
Common sense could see this mess coming years in advance. Idiots double down. They are the same fucking NAZI bastards that want the guns. Food isn't just going up. There is a good chance it becomes in short supply to the point people starve. I don't know if people in the USA and Europe are just flat stupid, but this shit doesn't change, we are going to find ourselves in deep shit. The same destructive NAZI bastards will declare an emergency and pretend to fix it. Think they want us armed to resist their fix? Think these people have a bit of sense, much less common sense? They are a bunch of cheap track lawyers who can't make a living in the private sector. Check their transcripts and you will find no math beyond algebra. The smart ones are there, charging a fortune to clean up their mess.
Everyone here needs to get a photo of the piles of skulls in Cambodia from the Pol Pot genocide. Present it to anyone who screams about the children. This is a lefty ploy. The same people who want to butcher babies, cut the peckers off young boys want our guns. Great analogy Karl.

Common sense goes hand in hand with critical thinking. Neither appears to be in stock amongst our fellow citizens.
Then we have the basics of "do what you say you are going to do," "show up on time," "return telephone calls," "don't ghost people," "provide a good days work for a good days pay," and I could go on.
I am old school in a world that has become completely unhinged. I am not sure how many of us are left.
Today I had a team of roofers at my home. They showed up on time and worked their asses off. These men did an outstanding job. The solar panels, rails, mounting brackets and wires are off the roof (in the garage ready to be moved). Not a single broken piece of glass. The roof is fixed. I am relieved beyond words.
June 10th my home should close. June 13th or 14th my new home should close.
I watched the Ministry of Truth broadcast this p.m. and officials at Uvalde school district announced that the school where the shootings occurred would not be used as a school again. Perhaps the district has plenty of money and can build another school, but from the looks of the place, I doubt that the residents can afford to build another one and not use the current building. This is a nice example of the common sense extolled by our politicians. Real common sense would have had the crazy individual locked up for previous threats and unable to shoot people. Real common sense would have no tolerance for someone leaving a school door open for any nut job off the street to enter at will. Sadly, America isn't guided by real common sense, but by politicians with hidden agendas appealing to the feelz How will people like those shown in @Sonoran Monk video make it in hard times? With people like that voting, our goose is cooked.
I spent today (called forth as National Range Day in January by one of canadeau's gun rights orgs) at a steel shoot. Late teens to 70s, male and female, including some LEO. It was a good day, but I and many others fear that the gig is up. Some are speculating the latest out of Ottawa is meant to drive panic buying before outright confiscation. Oh well, both my daughter and I repeatedly enjoyed the retort of the 300m gong, and all told I think she, my wife, and I, put about 500-600 rounds downrange handgun and pcc. We had lots of fun playing with the dueling tree at 50m.

I agree with you, except to say that the normal day's pay nowadays does not really constitute an honest day's pay. 30+ years ago, in my youth, in a small town and a big city, hard working uneducated labour could make $100/day easily, and $150-$200 if they really busted their ass. I was a part of both, forestry in camp, and construction labour. At the same time, housing rented in the mid hundreds per month, small low end single family could be bought in the small towns ~50k, and double that in the big smoke. A brand new chevy (cavalier) coupe was <9k, cool used cars and trucks were 1-2k. Beer could still be found at $1/sleeve, and taxes (if you paid them, construction work was almost always cash, I got $20/hr rounded up to the nearest hundred, paid every friday, If I wasn't over $1k I was annoyed) took maybe 20% at the 40k level. Now the same standard of living requires multiples of that income. An apartment in a now 70-80 year old building that was $485 in 89, I was recently told is 2200 now. From the outside, I don't think it's been reno'd, probably just maintained. This also drives taxation way up, as the increased income drives marginal rates all the way to 50%. I certainly don't see any of the construction labourers on my site making 4 or 5k/week to keep up with the rising costs. My kid is now construction labour for the company I work for, after taxes he makes maybe a 1-200 hundred more per week than I did then. And yes, I do believe it's a voluntary arrangement, he/we agree to work for the pittance that is paid. We've volunteered to be wage SLAVES, without even the old guarantee that slaves would be housed, and fed something.
TRUE STORY and one of the main reasons I venture into public as little as often:
While at Sam's for our monthly trip today, the wife sent me to pick out some pork chops. While at the counter, some lamb chops in the next case over caught my eye but there was a nicely dressed, professional-looking middle-aged couple standing in front of the lamb chops.
The man was holding some sort of tenderloin and they were discussing if it would be big enough for their intended number of guests.
Politely I asked if I might get to the lamb chops, to which they politely said of course and they separated to allow me access and slightly behind me now, they continued their discussion.
As I perused the lamb chops the man asked the woman, "How many ounces are in a pound?"
"16," she answered.
"This says it's 36 ounces, how many pounds is that?" the man asked.
"Three," replied the woman, who then continued, "No, a little less than three."
"Hmm" said the man. "So that makes what total?"
The woman didn't reply.
As I picked up my lamb and turned to walk away I said without stopping, "Two and four."
Though I'm not sure they understood what I meant the man immediately and politely replied, "Thank you."
I just shook my head in disbelief and kept walking.
What the fuck are we in for people? This doesn't look good at all on America.

@Kwwilson -- Let's translate this into time-per-item; something that makes it easy to illustrate the differences between then and now: * $20/hr for a 10 hr day of "unskilled labor" --> $200 * Rent, "Mid-hundreds/month" --> $500 (About 3 days' work.) * Vehicle --> $9k (45 days' work.) * Sleeve of Beer (I think this is a 12-16oz glassful) -> $1, (A "round of beer for everybody", assuming 20 people, would be an hour's work.)
THIS is the reason that Millennials "have a chip on their shoulder" when it comes to being derided about their "lack of work ethic" (proved by their difficulty 'getting-ahead' or 'keeping-together') -- the younger generations have put in the work... and are constantly having their pay kept from them by fraud.
All one has to do is look at H1Bs and how foreigners are preferred over citizens for what should be well-paying jobs. My $55k/yr (previous) job in 2018 would be $37.7k in 2000-dollars, and $18k in 1980... and these are Computer Science / Programmer jobs. (My previous job-title was "Sr. Software Developer".) -- Consider how the fact that such a job, being in a "well-paying" field stacks from your memories of the past: could you have gone out to buy a home, start a family, etc on $18k/yr in 1980? Could you do it with that environment, but modern taxation and regulatory policies?
Now factor in the federal minimum wage being essentially equal to 2 gallons of gas per hour and re-run your mental calculations -- THAT is the situation that we're now in. (And indicators are it will get worse.)
@kwwilson, regarding your son I read recently that "they didn't outlaw slavery, they just included all the colors." Sadly, I laughed out loud at that bit of common sense.
@edward.fish - Sorry dude, but that's bullshit. We have 20-something PE's coming to our employ and industry (where we actually build big heavy stuff that people use everyday and that kills people if it's not done right the first time) that are making six figures before they're thirty. Don't blame anyone but their parents for the fact that a shit ton of young people were allowed to choose shitty, worthless degrees.
While we are constantly talking to our 7 and 8 year old about what stuff costs and how long mommy and daddy have to work to pay for X, as we approach the age where they will begin to consider what they want to do for a living, we will sit them down and break out the tax returns and the financial accounts so they can see we haven't been bullshitting them for all those years. Then we will tell, okay, if you've enjoyed your lifestyle (at our expense) so far, this is the amount of money it take to support that lifestyle. And then we will send them off to research what careers can provide the financial means to have what we've provided them to this point. Most importantly, however, we will make sure they know we will always love them and support their decisions no matter what they choose to do, but we won't carry them financially for making shitty choices seeing as we've armed them with the common sense and education they need to have a better than average life.
Quit blaming others. Make changes. Do better. But please quit with the whining. It's childish and unbecoming.
