If neo-con retard Lindsey Graham has his way, the $40Billion is "priceless" and just the start of the porkfest for 'Ukraine': Quote From Politico: https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/10....Despite the boost to Biden's proposal, some Republicans argue more cash might still be needed to adequately help Ukraine beat back the Russian invasion. "Defeating Putin is priceless," said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), the Senates top Republican on the spending panel that funds the State Department and foreign aid programs. "Do I think this will be the last round? No, I think well be doing this again," Graham said. "Who knows where were going to be two months from now, three months from now. As long as theyre willing to fight, we need to help."

@lizardqueen I've become a fan of Trader Joe's as that was the one place to buy decent food in portions suitable for just myself and the better half. For staples like rice, canned goods, beans, etc. I hit up WinCo. The catch is that I do have three kids in high school that are competitive athletes, girls, but still...those 'training table' meals with lean proteins and fresh veggies and fruit are starting to tick higher every week. If Trader Joe's starts pricing like they are Whole Foods (AMZ shut down six Whole Foods locations last week), then I'll have to start shopping elsewhere...if there is an elsewhere.
My employer does not seem to be taking any of this seriously, at least not in a way that is visible. Doubling down on the DEI chatter and other 'feel good' programs that do nothing to address the clan of silverbacks taking up chairs in the parlor. It's non-sensical. Reminds me of WAMU near the end (it was Karl's post on WAMU that lead me to this site as I worked there at the time). Ignore that the company is bleeding out money and don't address it until it's too late.

Dream on. Wages up in Commie Canada have been stagnant for decades. Diesel just hit $2.099/L ($7.95/US gal) in SK. I can't imagine what the price is in BC, the California of Canada.

"Either prices will have to come back down or we all get 25% raises."
What you will get are people mugged for their grocery bags in the parking lot. One of them will also take the care and drill out the tank for the gas.
We are gradually transitioning to the feral.
That's one of the many reasons why what happened in the Summer of 2020 was so concerning. The bar keeps getting set lower.
Today, Walgreens is a free for all. Tomorrow, when their shelves are empty, they come to the homes that are unoccupied/unprotected.

Dont forget that the effect of the Shanghai lockdown has yet to be priced in. What happens to prices of used appliances, cars when new ones become unobtanium?

Great ticker! Clear, concise and right on the money.
I've lived long enough to have seen all this play out before. I had to look up what happened in 1981. At the time I was getting married. We were young, poor, and optimistic. It all worked out.
I see much pain in all this, but also some gains.
"... international trade clears in the currency of the producing entity."
Well, it's about time.
"Floor coverings, curtains, furniture, major appliances, clocks, tools and hardware, .... lawn mowers and weed whackers, tires, vehicle parts, oil, coolant and other vehicle fluids... motels, hotels.... Maybe a six-pack on the back porch will do instead."
In other words, the over-fed, over-indulged American consumer may have a chance to learn what's important in life. We've forgotten what real wealth is (our land, our people and the well-being we derive from our fundamental values).
It's all cycles.

I would not wait to get any ammo that you need. Price is destined to keep increasing. A friend of mine did quite well at a local estate auction and was able to purchase 9mm, .223 and .45 at a little below retail.
Ukraine is going to drive up all ammunition prices going forward.

Nope, the prices will stay the same but you will get less. Look at cereal boxes, loaves of bread, candy bars, chips... etc... They still play that game.

Great info as always, many thanks.
Been stocking up on canned chicken breast, canned smoked ham, Spam, mixed vegetables, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, razors, Q-tips, vodka, etc.
MILLIONS of chickens and turkeys being killed. After *****, does anyone trust the PCR test for bird flu?
@Orangecrush, fixed it for you: "Defeating Putin is priceless," said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-co*ksucker neo-con). Talk about someone needing a rusty chainsaw!

So if the food starts running out will we cease our food exports? What would the average American think of us feeding China while our own goes without? When we go down we will be taking everyone down with us. @Smacktle Try ammoseek, assuming you don't live in a cuck state that bans ammo deliveries. https://ammoseek.com/ammo/223-remington

Umm. At what point are folks going to come to the conclusion that it is pointless to work? When it costs too much on gas/diesel to make the make the commute and when the money you make does not cover the bills, what happens then? If something cannot be sustained, it won't be. I am expecting a long hot summer and a very cold and dark winter.

My kid periodically likes to take her babysitting money and treat herself to a poke bowl. Last weekend she asked if she could go. She came home on the verge of tears. The price of her usual order went from $12.99 to $20.99. She hadn't noticed the price increase until they rang her up. It wiped her out for the week.

Is congress even capable of reducing spending?
Where are they going to cut?
Raise taxes? With inflation and recession coming, I don't think so.

We need an asteroid impact on the District of Criminals, traveling from west to east, and large enough to blast the whole metro area into the eastern sky.
Edit: one more thing, it has to hit on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday because that's the only days of the week those ****erz actually work.

It's a huge mistake to think that most people in "middle class, affluent" areas are doing well. While some are, there are just as many in those areas who are living paycheck to paycheck as in the poor neighborhoods. Those same folks are in a race of credit card limit vs. reality. They have the added complication that they had higher expenses before than the poor folks.

What if those "in charge" who, have never really faced anything approaching consequences for their stupidity, actually think they can succeed in defying reality? These are duhversity hire, book-smart, academic ideologues.
Because it cannot work, doesn't mean they will not try.
The rest of us just have to survive the consequences.

Ireland exported beef to England throughout the famine. One million Irish starved to death. Another million fled the country. Yet it was business as usual for the Absentee Landlords and the Big Business interest.
