 Student Loan 'Forgiveness'?

I like Karl's plan. I think it is fair and equitable for all. Sadly, I think this is Biden (or whomever is writing his speeches) trying to buy votes in November from people who want something for nothing. My wife calls them "the gimme gimmes".

Full disclosure - I was an undergraduate at FSU and did a Ph.D. in Polymer Science at UMASS. I had great advisors who worked with me to teach me how solve problems in the Analytical Chemistry division (I worked in Microscopy and Polymer Physics). I met my wife there (she was an Organic Polymer Chemist.)

My wife and I had some student loans (some "His" and "Hers" and "Ours"). We lived frugally and paid them all back with interest over a period of 10 years. We were happy to be done with them.

Graduates in fields like Social Work will take more time to do so. Either way, if one takes out debt, you have to agree to pay it back.

Why should a Skilled Trades worker (Plumber, Electrician) who did not go to college have to help you pay back your debt. The thouht is rediculous!
