So I am here in Missoula MT running errands and trying to find a sit down place to eat lunch.

Except for the casino associated eateries, no thank you, they allow smoking, few places open.

Finally found a national breakfast place. The sign on the door stated: Closing at 2 pm DUE TO STAFFING.

Struck up a convo with our waitress, very nice lady, who was also the mamager. She cant get people to come to work. There are also severe supply chain issues and the menu is down by 50% of the usual items.

She is madder than hell about how this whole covid was handled. Got the vax but had tinnitis for 2 months, will not get another. Trying to finish her house repairs and cant get materials for love or money. She is ready to march on DC.

The collapse is upon us.

It seems to me we have three chances of getting these mandates ended. 1. A broad Supreme Court ruling. 2. Economic calamity in the next 6 to 8 weeks. 3. A truly dark winter for the immune-injured jabbed.

I don't think any of the three are more likely than not, but I suspect we have got about a 50/50 chance of one coming through. We are likely to have a few wins and a few loses in the courts, but I do not count on this RINO SC which wouldn't even hear the Texas case to rescue us. The best case, and most fun to root for, is a sharp, catastrophic collapse of our economy from the unvaxxed going Galt. The cynic in mE expects it to get bad, but murky enough to prevent the necessary backlash. The last scenario unfortunately would take the longest and be the ugliest. Since I infer from the UK data that the vaxxed are experiencing immune system damage rather than VEI or ADE, I am worried the vaccine damage will continue to be too gradual for those not wanting to see it to see and therefore insufficient politically to end the mandates, at least not by spring.

All we can do, really, is hope for the worst. LITERALLY The worst things get the better our chances.

Hi all,
Long time reader. Feel like this is the only breath of sanity on the internet these days.

When Trump got on the tube back in March of 2020 and talked about "15 days to slow the spread" I took one look at my wife and told her flat out: if people go along with this and allow government stooges to tell them their livelihoods aren't essential, then this is only the beginning of what is to come.

I guess the hardest part of that 15 days has been the 18 months. It sucked here in Pennsylvania for awhile. But thankfully the goons in the PA GOP figured out how to use the ballot initiative and screw that granola munching power hungry Quaker in Harrisburg and call his bluff so he can't shut down businesses or play favorites with his cronies when deciding who can work and who can't. That being said, plenty of places have signs back up 'requesting' or 'strongly encouraging' patrons wear face diapers. The elderly are back to wearing biohazard suits when our of home and bathing in alcohol sanitizer. And now vaccine mandates. Told my wife when they discussed those at first, to just watch. In a year they'll move goalposts, pull out sticks and try to force folks to take their shots.

At this time in my life I feel like Alex Jones and suddenly all the tin foil hat conspiracy theories are coming true. My wife's company is a European medical device manufacturer whose US HQ takes a lot of Fed contracts. So they're now dropping their own hammer and making people either prove their vaccinated or file exemptions or be fired by 10/31. My wife is pregnant, and is going to be squeezing out the little guy in less than a week.

We're devout Catholics. We see the pure satanic bull****, bald faced tyranny that this is, and has been, from day one. We're not going to get any of these shots. Ever. We're the last two in our combined families not shot up and by God we'll stay that way. Pope Francis can take his "remote cooperation with evil" and "act of love" platitudes and theological hand-wringing and stick it up his ass with a knife. Evil is evil, and these pharmaceutical companies have already been outed as continuing to use dead babies to make these products. No dice.

I told her, flat out, to wait until the absolute last minute before we have to go to the hospital. Then file her exemption asserting (not asking) her exemption on religious grounds (she wanted a medical one for being pregnant and I told her that'd buy her maybe a year and then they'd call her bluff), both from the fetal cell use and freedom of conscience (which the Church has always upheld) and tell them to get ****ed. And then let them stew on it until the Dec 8th deadline they set while she's out on 12 weeks paid leave with FMLA protection and let them fire her after.

I work for an insurance company, but worked in a body shop for years. We're ready for whatever comes. Nobody is telling us to commit sin and violate our consciences or lose our jobs. They can go **** themselves.

Just got the advance communication from HR that tomorrow our company adopts the mandate. I wasn't expecting the deliberate self destruction across the boards, was hoping that we'd only take the federal contractor bullet at this time. We are already struggling to hire capable folks. Unfortunately this eliminates my plan B and plan C that was going to buy my family time.

Another comment regarding the 80/20 rule.

Having been an agricultural lender for almost 40 years now, I have developed a network of contacts in the private sector; cooperative credit, banks, supplier financing, etc. The common complaint by those like me approaching retirement is that their younger coworkers have no work ethic or employer loyalty. The younger the employee the worse it gets. We all know that it's no different in other professions.

The 80/20 rule will slowly slide to 90/10 and so on.

Make no mistake these things ARE vaccines.

The CDC and Miriam Webster both changed their definitions a few months ago to accommodate the Clot Shot.

Similar situation in Butte - lots of signs up stating reduced hours due to staff shortages. Supply chain issues are a fact for almost anything - one building supply guy that deals with contractors told me he had steel rain gutter on order for 8 months and not here yet.

I wouldn't count on any CEO who has already mandated clot shots to change direction regardless of court ruling or striking workforce. I'm also willing to bet that for every 1 person who will not get the death jab, there's a combination of 9 other vexx compliers or screaming Karen's who did. It then comes down to a numbers game....piss off 90% and risk losing a portion of the 10% who won't comply or risk losing 90% to keep 10%. You know in your heart of hearts that the screaming Karen's will absolutely strike without question. And then, big badda boom. You'll never get them back to work if they don't feel like there's a safe work environment.

I hope I'm wrong.

I see that Boeing just mandated the shots for their employees.

Boeing is a defense as well as NASA contractor. Boeing is one of the largest, fully on par with LockMart and Raytheon. No doubt their mandate is driven by the requirements for federal contractors. I was hoping they would spare the commercial aircraft side their mandate. No such luck.

Now I'm wondering about the supply of spare parts for planes.

Intel is forgoing mandates for now.

Anybody else notice total employee count at UAL decreased >20% (84,400 -> 67,000) in the last quarter? Will be interesting to see the new 10Q this month.

Most recent 10Q, "As of June 30, 2021, the Company had approximately84,400employees, of whom approximately85% were represented by various U.S. labor organizations. This total includes approximately4,500front-line employees who elected to voluntarily separate from the Company pursuant to the first quarter 2021 Company-offered Voluntary Programs but who still remained on pay and benefit continuation as of June 30, 2021."

"In an interview on Wednesday [10/13/21], Scott Kirby [CEO] told CBSThis Morningthat 99.7 per cent of the airlines 67,000 US employees have been vaccinated since the company made it a requirement on 6 August."

@Chescocatholic Welcome aboard neighbor! I'm a county north of you. Congratulations to you and your wife.

Our first was born at hospital and not a nice experience. Our second child we planned to birth at The Birth Center (now Lifecycle Womancare) in Bryn Mawr. Labor went fast so I ended up playing catcher... and finishing at The Birth Center.

Read the FAQ from the advance notice. Staff who are terminated will not get severance pay.

So now I must weigh, do I get the shot, then only do the 40 hrs so that eventually my company decides to lay me off, just to get my hold of the severance?

That was sarcastic. I decided not to get the shot back last summer. Coronavirus means vaccines don't work. Nothing has changed, except that since then, there has been anecdotal data (because they are not collecting the real data) to show the harms.

I'm going through the 5 stages of PISSED OFF.

@Ihsmta The average person shows more care and loyalty to used toilet paper than the average company does to an employee.

There is no point in showing loyalty to a company, the person gets flushed at the drop of a hat.

Sort of applies here ...

But in another comment thread I stated those of us who understand law and doing the right thing assume the other side plates by the rules.

This from The Federalist tells us we are mistaken to think the other side will not do everything to gain power.

The latest risk for nurses, by the way, is that if you get fired for not taking the vaxx, the hospital may report you to the state board of nursing for "safety violations" - in other words, attempt to have your license yanked because you refused to have poison injected into your body.

Help may be on the way. I recently heard a radio advertisement by a lawyer who was soliciting clients who had been fired in health care jobs for "safety violations" (in other words, refusing the clot shot)

Like them or not, similar to great white sharks, ambulance-chasing lawyers have a role in our legal ecosystem. And they can smell blood from a mile away....

Yep. There are guys who work in dirty little machine shops that the senior managers never visit because it is too far off the beaten path. They don't even know the building exists. And the only way they know those employees exist is because they come up as numbers on a computer somewhere.

Good luck replacing those guys.

Remember folks, there is always the solution most used by politicians:

Lie

Not workers lying, but employers and the government creating a lie that allows them to claim compliance while keeping the lights on.

We shall see.

It would be fascinating to see 50 million productive Americans with spare time to become political activists. I'm sure that would get the Commies in Washington to put their fence up again - and let them do that! Fenced in is what they deserve.

There are so many permutations on this that NOBODY has thought through.

For example, let's say Milton applies for a religious exemption, but is denied.

Do you tell Milton on December 8, therefore not giving him time to get a shot? Lawsuit anyone?

Do you tell Milton on November 8th, and give him a month to get the shot? Maybe Milton decided 6 months ago he isn't taking the shot. What do you think Milton's attitude is going to be for last month? What happens if Milton gets diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on November 15th?

Or maybe Milton really doesn't want to work there anymore, but tries for an exemption, writes a crappy exemption claim, and hopes he is denied so he can win a lawsuit lottery.

What happens if Milton has a heart attack after his religious exemption is denied? Think he or his surviving family is going to sue? And what happens if Milton "slips and falls" at work after getting denied? That would never happen, right?

Now let's say Milton has been at the same company for 40 years. He knows not only where the bodies are buried, but who put them there. Think he might start calling EPA, OSHA, EEOC, etc. if he gets denied?

What if Milton gets his exemption approved, but two of his co-workers say "screw you" and quit. Is Milton going to pick up their work assignments FOR FREE? Or is Milton going to CUT his productivity by half and blame everything on his co-workers who left? How long can he milk that for? How long is it going to take HR to write him up when they are about 3 years behind in paperwork?
