Seems mask wearing and enforcement of mask mandates has now become synonymous with whatever your political party affiliation is where I live in rural Kansas.
Easy to see who the Democrats are!
I am actually surprised to see some of them that have unknowingly revealed their little secret !
Some of them run retail business's too!
They now have given me TWO reasons to not spend my money there.
Any time I am tempted to regret the loss of a purchase, I remind myself that "HEY!, I still have MY money ! " so I didn't lose anything!

The Brooklyn Nets are now going scorched earth on Kyrie Irving. Unvaxxed, he was only expected to miss home games, plus road games against the Knicks and Warriors. He's even legally allowed to practice in NY. But now the team has 'banned' him until he gets stabbed. He's a quirky guy who I expect will give the team is middle finger and not get stabbed.

You Americans are lucky, as always, to be American. Canada is still wringing their hands worshipping the media telling them what the Good Guys in Suits say. "The unvaxxed are the problem."
"We need to vaccinate more people!"
"If you're young and healthy, you still need to take it!"

There are two letters to the editor in today's Calgary Sun bemoaning and blaming the unvaxxed with captions agreeing. No matter how much you throw Karl, Vox Day, and any of the (few) others and their work at them, it doesn't matter. It didn't come from the TV, it can't be right.

Thankfully, my wife and I have been getting ready for this. We're okay food-wise; we can go months without shopping. Only a mortgage, all our mulitple vehicles were paid for in cash at purchase. Her family is totally vaxxed and she's the only holdout and I have her reading here daily to keep her morale up.

You've saved lives here, Karl. Thank you.

I'm boycotting any place with an employee vax mandate and/or a vax passport requirement for customers and am letting them know why.

The mask situation is a little tougher IMO. I don't think masks do anything but often the business owners are caught between a rock and a hard place.
They're dealing with state and local mandates with fines if they don't comply, customers who want it and won't shop there without a mandate, customers who don't want it and won't shop there with one, scared employees who won't work if the customers aren't masked, employees who refuse to wear one, etc.
I don't envy them, especially in areas with a high percentage of masktard customers. No matter what they do it will cause a ****storm.

The masks can always be taken off, the vax - not so much. As such I'm focusing more on fighting the vax mandates using my wallet.

I recently cancelled tickets for a concert in downtown Atlanta. My issue was not just the masking but that the demand from the promoter was that you had to be vaxxed or provide a negative test within 72 hours of the concert.

I told them that besides the fact that they changed the terms of the contract that also it was discriminatory and stupid to demand the unvaxxed be tested while the allowing the vaxxed to do their Typhoid Mary routines and walk into the venue spreading their spike protein all over the place with careless regard.

They said they'd refund my $$ for the four tickets. We'll see if they do.

So, let's say a family has various items on lease, or payment scheme - you decide to cut back and return many items to the financier.

In tough times, folks often walk away from their mortgages - leaving the bank on the hook.

The list can go on... If necessary, trim back and leave the burden with the 'big guys'. You could even file for bankruptcy protection in many countries. Then head back to your roots and start afresh.

I converted to cash early in life after a severe business downturn and a bank that tried to bully. In the end, I came out top.

If 20% of the Untermensch did that, or adopted economic protest, the US economy would fold in a very short space of time.

Testicular fortitude is required.

As for banks that tried to force vax passes to enter - we closed accounts and took out the cash. They will never see me again.

What did Susan buy with all the money she didn't spend on discretionary and luxuryb things? The COVID madness earned me a brand new special order 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Premium 6 speed manual transmission in a beautiful blue color. I paid cash. Ordered in early January and delivered in mid April. If I had not bought this as a special order, I never would have gotten it. WooHoo. It is a lovely solid well made machine.

My most recent acquisition was free - although I will have some vet bills for shots. This little creature is giving me a world of entertainment.

"KD - You speak like a TRUE ECONOMIST and CAPITALIST!" When the company I worked for gave us two choices - Test or Vaccinate, I waited until the last hour, of the last day to "Bury the Dead"! (I had a resignation letter prepared several weeks in advance, having been re-written at least a dozen times). When the time finally arrived, and the company had NOT changed policy, I went to my boss's office, and he was out golfing!
I then decided, time to deliver my "employment status change" to the President of the company, however, being a "beta male", he also didn't want to deal with the fallout of the mandates. So I delivered my resignation to the V.P. of R & D, a very likable guy close to my age. I had what I thought would be a 5 minute conversation which turned into 45 minutes at which point I had to say - "I've got someone close to me awaiting my arrival at home!" "We're celebrating!"

The BS mandate was "my line in the sand"!

What's funny to me, is that I had two job offers within 2 days, and I haven't even expressed a desire to continue to be a W2 employee! My reply to both was "Thanks, but I'm really not looking". Any further output that I generate will be for myself, and "I only work for bags of cash", of course I will extend that to precious metals, bags of gift cards, and other barterable commodities, or those I seek". I'm done with this system! Living on 10 acres, and having a fully functioning fabrication and machine shop (just pulled out of moth balls), will keep me busy.

I see a million opportunities on the horizon!

What's also interesting to me, is that upon receiving last years bonus (about $6 Large), I had said to the "gloved beta President, who shook my bare hand", realize this ... I'm a Capitalist, and I loathe Communists, It's why I work, and do what I do!"
The beta President laughed, he said "communists, really?"

He didn't even notice that he had become one! I will laugh when the guy who has all this MBA BS on the wall, ends up in bankruptcy or worse. The government has a special place for "useful idiots". I'm pretty sure he'll wake up shortly before that piece of lead enters his cranium in a year or two, or he gets the "grabber" from the "clot shot" that he mandated.

Bury the dead, only if they deserve it! The undeserving can be sent to the "land fill". There's no point in remembering them. They had a chance to "stop this BS", and they chose to "ride the wagon". I'll be in the group that will knock the wheels off this wagon, with the full capability to put said wheels back on that wagon or build new wagons.

Thanks Karl for reminding the folks that you have the keys to unlock your shackles.
There's no reason to continue to reward the system that's intent on killing you!

Well done!

Yep. This kind of thing is exactly why I made it a priority to get rid of all my debt and stay debt free. Even with some debt, you have some power here, but its so nice to be able to just walk with no worries (or very much reduced worries). I already was pretty frugal generally (other than my hobbies), now I'm just trying to cut as much spending as possible to starve the beast. I am by no measure wealthy, but not having much in terms of bills helps a lot.

I haven't had the balls yet to quit my job (+20 years there...almost my entire working life). But I'm not really trying not to get fired. HQ sent out an email and said they were waiting on OSHA rules before mandating anything, but I don't know if that will ever actually happen. I really should just get out and minimize my income probably but I kinda hope they try a mandate so I get the satisfaction of erecting a middle finger and saying hell no.

Southwest Airlines, doubling down. Let's see how this works out for them. I used to fly SWA all the time, and on every flight they'd say "We know you have many choices when you fly." Seems the CEO has forgotten that fact. He could have said nothing, or played coy, but he chose to bow and scrape.

Several here have mentioned concerts.

Now that I've had the coof and recovered -- thus, natural immunity -- I might go to a concert. But before I had covid, when I was still vulnerable? NO EFFING WAY.

We know now that vaxxed people are the chief spreaders of the virus, and there's no way I would have wanted to be in any crowd of 'em.

I have seen this video regarding the Delta pilot who allegedly died in the cockpit. Corroboration is claimed. Tin? I don't know. But a fair number of allegations regarding health problems among flight personnel are made and those sound credible. There is a reasonably good discussion toward the end regarding Southwest Airlines. 15 minute video. Judge for yourself.

https://www.redvoicemedia.com/2021/10/so....

United hit their employees already. If anything is happening over there, there seems to be a very tight seal on the news.

Well for sure I am not flying again until this shakes out. Which could be never. Who knows? I had travel plans which are not coming to fruition anytime soon and that means I am not spending that money.

Just an update on my observations here in N.C. Our baby killer governor Cooper issued a mask mandate for our state due to the "uptick" in covid cases this past July. I'm usually the only person in our local Food Lion without a mask. Haven't been bothered by anyone about it lately. Since I'm retired, I looked into volunteering for the board of our local neighborhood association. We are in an historic neighborhood with some fairly high priced real estate. Here is a copy of my recent correspondence via email:

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your reply. I've reviewed the document and have no problem with the provisions therein. In the interest in not wasting either the board's or your time, what is the policy regarding the wearing of masks during meetings and events?

Regards,

J.C.

his response:

Our event schedule has been cut way back. Our events have been outdoors, and there is a mix of neighbors wearing masks for the event and some not. Our rules/recommendations match the state.

my response:
Thanks, Joe. I do not agree with the state mask mandate and therefore do not wish to participate in the board at this time. I will gladly revisit the situation once the mandate is no longer in effect.

Regards,
J.C.

There is a line in the sand for everyone. This one's mine. I recently had to take a flight to Philly for my nephew's wedding. Cramped flight, masked all the way. Never again. I'll drive or hitchhike before I consider being treated like cattle. F*ck all of them!

That's the ENTIRE reason you can never get through to some people.

What stumps me is: WHY do people trust those prissy little airheads in the media? Or the people oohed and aahed over by the media, such as Anthony Fauci, who so obviously is a pathological liar? Or indeed any figurehead of a government that has repeatedly PROVEN itself to be wicked and corrupt?

That's what gets me: To trust the media and the people they gush over, you have to:
1. Be totally incompetent at "reading" people, e.g., you don't notice the "tells" that liars and psychopaths have;
2. Have no historical memory, e.g., you've forgotten all the heinous crimes committed by the U.S. government over the years;
3. Be more impressed with style than substance;
4. Be passive instead of engaged, i.e., never question or "talk back" to those people on the screen.
