pinwiz, I don't think that WBAL was ever conservative, they just had the best radio guy in the country. Don't forget they also aired Allen Prell.

There are such trad magazines, a buddy manages cemeteries and has them around his house. Was going to try to connect with him this weekend, but to many things going on. Last time we talked, he "felt" they were running about normal. They the two he manages are older cemeteries, non profit, and near they end of their capacity.

On the topic on hand, I am hesitant to fire anyone for cause right now. The average opening remains open for 6 months. So I can cut a guy who is providing some times but causing issues, and then be down to 75% run time for six months or more.

No applicants. None. No one in eastern Iowa is fully staffed, including the nuke plant.

"In January they are going to fine each unvaccinated farm animals $50 every paycheck"

Seems to me any seasoned farm animal ought to be able to find ways of costing the company that much and then some per pay period, on the sly.

I remember 2004/2005 as boom years in the run up of the housing bubble. Everyone was buying a house and moving up in their jobs. That's the environment where people tend to get busy in the bedroom.

I've mentioned before that the DW works in HR for a Fortune 100 company. They are seeing far above normal number of people leaving for retirement. Lots way ahead of schedule too, e.g. mid-to-late 50's people saying "I'm done." It's to the point where the C-suite has taken notice and they are running scared now about just maintaining minimal staffing. Last spring in the depths of the lockdowns they let most of their recruiting staff go as they're usually the first out when things are slowing down. Whoops. Now they see a huge labor shortage on the horizon while rebuilding a recruiting staff to recruit people that don't exist. Oh - and their company has NO mandates. Their official line is "what mandates, OSHA hasn't given guidance yet." Not an overly foolish company but definitely an example of what an even well run non-woke company is facing these days.

As for my own world, no mandates with my employer yet. Severe staffing shortage and posting a job is basically pointless. You'll get responses but not from anyone qualified. Recruiters aren't much better. I've received the same calls from people trying to poach me. Was literally told to "name my price" on Friday. The problem is that everyone wants the do'ers, not the managers. I walk the line between both sides, and while I'd go back to being a full time do'er the pay would have to be right but more important the manager would have to be right. The latter is VERY tough to find.

They say people don't quit jobs, they quit their boss. Makes one wonder about people taking early retirement.

This goes to show the level of stupidity of the MBA's that the US college system has been churning out for a generation. Let's just say that they are successful in cohering almost all of their livestock into complying with this. Do they want to turn anywhere between 20% to 50% into a group of people looking to pay back management for all of their caring and concern for their physical and financial well being in their personal lives? Just set aside the ones who might decide to really settle a score for real damage where there isn't any legal recourse available. I mean the ones who can quietly and discreetly monkey wrench their operations in ways they aren't even thinking about.

It seems like the feasible options now are:

1) Claim a religious exemption.
Pros:
-- Maybe keep your job (at least for awhile)
-- Maybe the company will screw up and you can sue them

Cons:
-- If they deny it, you are fired
-- They can make the "accommodation" humiliating and cumbersome
-- They can fire you for violating the accommodation
-- You out yourself as a likely conservative, so forget about promotions
-- Won't stop the communists from enacting more controls

2) Walk away or make them fire you
Pros:
-- Makes the feedback loop instantaneous for the corporation (see SWA).
-- Has the best chance of stopping the mandates period.
-- The right moral and ethical decision

Cons:
-- Instant purge of conservatives, which is not good if the mandates aren't stopped
-- Requires additional decision points A) Just stop coming to work, or B) keep going in and wait for them to deny access

I'm sure there are other pros and cons, but I wanted to throw this out there, so others can make suggestions or rip me a new one!

Here is a link to an English site which seems to back up your Hiring Manager post. They look at CDC data and in particular deaths which have no certain cause. These seem to correlate with vaccination rates.

https://theexpose.uk/2021/10/12/cdc-data....

They dont account for all your missing souls but it is a fair number. It climbs up to over 7,000 a week.

What do you think?

Years ago, one of my 'other duties as assigned' was to collect a data set from an external party which they refused to send electronically (and I don't blame them for that; I wouldn't have either). It was about a 50 mile round trip for which I was eligible for local travel reimbursement which would have been about $25/week. My CO refused to authorize local travel so those trips became much, much longer and involved me stopping for lunch, running errands, etc. I was getting paid about $50/hr then so it didn't take long to reimburse myself.

@Bluto

I concur. I have found that it is impossible to get any doctor to give you a letter recommending that you not get the vexxine. I assume this is because they risk losing their medical license, and thereby losing their ability to make a living.

So the only choices left are a religious exemption, walking away, or letting them fire you.

If you don't have enough saved to live the rest of your life without ever working again, it is a choice between a **** sandwich with mustard, or a **** sandwich with pickles.

Saw an article saying Whitehouse had reached an agreement with Walmart (wtf) UPS, FedEx and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union to work 24/7 to get tings moving across the country.

Where the hell are they going to find staffing for any hours increase? and don't these companies already work 24/7 for the most part?

What kind of ****ing fantasy is this?

It will do them little to no good; the capacity is simply not there between "right-sizing" last year AND people saying "**** you" due to mandates of various sorts (NOT just jabs, also masks, etc.)

Rumors only.

First contract would cut pensions from all new hires.
Limit raises to a total of a dollar an hour over six years ($.16 a year) for most jobs.

And increase healthcare payments enough that it would be a net set back per hour.

Not sure if that is true of false. It was posted on a local board. This was after big green had a record year.

I am not sure what the plan is here for Green, other than the BOD and hedge fund cashing out and running

With the way inflation is running most people are going to see pay cuts YoY in purchasing power if they aren't getting significant raises. Fully expect I won't get enough to stay even. Salary review coming up in November.

Simply most people went to to things like door dash, Instacart, Uber, Uber eats.

If you want or need time off, just don't log in, it's that simple!

The conventional employers may pretend to complete with those services via money on the hour (to a degree) but they can't compete when it comes too time off with no penalty, IE an
(actual flexible schedule) not just flexible in the favor of the employer.

Or you could consider ****s run its course, how many generations can you realistically go on repeating the same jobs and higher cost of living before people say **** it?

Personally I'm for the drop out, we as people don't owe any business/employer any thing, and no we don't owe it to anyone to just shut up and take their wage and put up with pettiness, like a childish writeup and points system!
Oh I know,
Some old ****er sucked it so I have to too!
Not in my ****in book! Welcome to reality, not some post war jerk off fantasy!

What you're seeing is the people getting off their asses and making a stand, no not with government benefits, those ran out for the mass majority 5 months ago.

Of course the "blame the youth" bull**** is still out there!
Frankly plenty of those over 45 and well over 50 have walked away as well, many in those age groups have too discovered doordash and the gang!

What was once called gig work is now mainstream like it or not!
This is what they all get for decades of treating people like ****!

Let it be a warning to all businesses, especially future ones! Don't treat your employees like children or someday they'll all walk away and not give a ****!
(You do need people)

Ahhh but of course the work ethic dick waggers are high on the propaganda mentality of "no one wants to work"!

They're repeating the word work 500 times, propagandaizing themselves into believing that it's laziness!

Sheep and idiots, got steeped into the false religion of work ethic last decade, I warned many it's being used against you, they wouldn't hear it...

Now as predicted here's that event that the system at large can scream the lack of work ethic, and those idiot prairie dogs come running and join in the dick wag, it's all fashionable folks if you don't throw down and profess
"work ethic" you're not seen as a real person, and you must buy the bull**** or be black balled!

They got most by the balls particularly the older one is!

Motivation::: well there is none, or it's quickly becoming that way, simply put, high ass rent even in a small Ohio town we're seeing $1400 a month for ****!
I mean garbage!

So no matter the "job" it's becoming you're still not going to be able to afford a dwelling, so what's the point and going to a job, being trapped wasting your best days, chasing after money that doesn't buy you ****???

Why bother? If we're going to be homeless anyway why waste your time with a job just to be on the street anyway?? If I'm going to live out of my car, well I can work doordash and other services I guess for fuel and a sandwich!
Though it's becoming and they go to live out of one's car and or to be homeless at Large!
They price us out then they make it illegal to be that result which would be homeless!

And no the old
"some money is better than no money" is another dumbass propaganda saying made up by ****ty paying employers!

The employers brought the resentment upon themselves, so everybody went and found alternative work deal with it!
