This one, of course.....

Yeah, parody, but funnier than Hell.

And likely to repeat, of course not with Boehner.

Why?

Afghanistan, surprisingly enough.

There are very few Americans who are going to sit back on either side of the aisle and ignore what's happened over there.  Election season starts in about six to nine months and the wounds will still be raw.  Family members of those killed in the last days will be making the rounds on campaign stops and laying forth assurance that the public will not forget.

The most-serious bits of stupidity are the abandonment of our high-secure base (Bagram Airfield) and the abandonment -- not destruction -- of insane amounts of US equipment.  The rifles and such are one thing, but the abandonment of communications equipment and advanced weaponry is utterly nuts.  We didn't have that taken from us by being overrun -- we literally abandoned it on the ground and gave it to the Taliban, who are now using it.

I don't know about you but handing a bunch of nutjobs Apache choppers looks to me to be actual treason.  Not the sort often bandied about on the Internet, the real deal.  We're talking material aid and comfort given to a sworn enemy of the United States with which we are in actual armed conflict.

Yeah, we were withdrawing.  So what?  We had a duty to either get that material out of there or destroy it.  Sometimes you have to destroy what you can't take with you and, sadly, if overrun you often have no choice at all, but deliberately abandoning it so the enemy can have it is not one of the valid choices.

Do not ever forget, my friends that the Joint Chiefs were, in many cases, installed by Trump.  He bears equal responsibility in that his people were involved in this.  Yes, Biden gets the blame in chief but so do those in the House and Senate who did not in the past move to impeach and eject these individuals.

It is thus entirely fair for the American public to hold accountable those who have had control of the US House since 2018.  I remind you that their impeachment efforts were aimed at Trump -- twice.  Not once did they go after the social justice warriors who were emplaced in the upper echelons of our military commands and who favored such thing as "inclusion" over competence and making damned sure that we did not hand billions of dollars of high-tech weaponry to an enemy of the United States.

Elections have consequences folks.  I get it that there were plenty of people who hated Trump with a white-hot passion, and not entirely without cause.  Mr. Showman was just as culpable in not coming in and firing all the SJW members of the upper echelons in the military, and on the facts he was horrifically bad in terms of selection of those who worked for him as President.  But that's water over the dam, and further, Biden had eight months to correct those errors and not only didn't, in the context of the military he doubled down on them as did Speaker Pelosi, Schumer and countless other Democrats in both the House and Senate.

So be it; let the retribution begin.

I fully expect the Returdlicans to win a huge victory. I also expect the House Select Committee on Kabul to be a worthless exercise by the new Congress.

How many of the Afghanistan refugees, soon to be released here are actually Taliban?

We will we make to the next election?

Are the odds, of a nuke going off here, greater than the odds of the next election occurring.

Taiwan is toast, will other allies fall victim to the sword, as the perceived protection of the United States wanes.

This whole thing is going to get a lot worse down the road. 85 billion in military hardware left sitting. They reportedly left behind biometric data/devices with all of the data of those who aided the US. Saw a report somewhere from an ex soldier saying the Taliban blocked people from the airport and pushed their own members onto those planes. At least 1 suspected ISIS member was found in the US and shipped back to the ME from what I've read.

Now this: https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/08.... Biden telling Ghani to lie about how bad it was.

Terror attacks will be incoming soon I bet. How many Taliban (not to mention ISIS/Al Qaeda) are now inside the US? I'd bet quite a few.

You interview somebody and they say all the right hings and when hired immediately turn on you.

ENOUGH OF YOUR CRAP!!

Now we have a demented old man whose came out yesterday yelling at us legal Americans who have spend our lives paying taxes only to see the SWAMP******away our future.Economically, Security, Our culture is being destroyed, society is garbage.

As some jerk says, I DON"T GIVE A FLYING FU#*K.

The current excuse is that a lot of that equipment was actually old stuff we had given to the Afghan National Army. They were our ally and could use it all to fight the Taliban.

Of course anyone with two neurons to rub together knew that the ANA was never going to hold together, and we should have scorched earth that country on our way out. Even if the Taliban can't use or maintain any of it, I'm sure Iran could.

We left encrypted radios! I, as a US citizen, am not allowed to own such a thing because it endangers the state. Gen 3 night vision? I can own that, for a $4000-$12000 entry cost, and if I were to allow a foreign national to use them it's an instant felony. And we gave that **** to the ANA, possibly the most incompetent fighting force among modern man? Everyone knew what was going to happen. We left ScanEagle drones and a partially destroyed CRAM Phalanx battery. The softwares contained in those systems are the exact **** China is looking for. I sure hope they blew up that AA battery properly.

On goes my tinfoil hat. The Military Industrial Complex wanted this to happen so that our enemies could get upgrades. Now, they can pitch to Congress for more trillions of spending to "stay ahead" of our enemy's tech advances.

**** us. What the hell.

Morning all. I still believe we are not hungry enough to do a damn thing about any of this. That point will come though. When it does, hopefully, all bets are off and justice, in whatever form as Karl says, will be served. But not until we are hungry enough. We are not hungry yet. Yet.

To quote another **** politician What difference does it make?? Sure, put up a speaker with an "R" behind their name. Maybe they'll get to impeach pudding brains and then let the senate acquit him. Oh wait...they did that to Trump while the covid scam was getting geared up. Trumps impeachment affected me personally in no way. The police state that the gov't started in the name of the 'vid certainly did.

The people pulling the strings like divide gov't. Keeps the red vs. blue charade going. I'm more interested in what is happening behind the curtain. All eyes have been on Afghanistan for a while now. What happened that WAS NOT reported on? That's what I'm afraid of.

I'm betting much of that hardware won't be running for long. Spare parts and trained technicians are going to be a bitch to come by in the sandbox.

@augeries

My guess is that it was part of a sovereign debt payment to China. They pulled our strings and made us an offer we couldn't refuse: trillions in mineral wealth and billions in poppy, and they wouldn't shut of the cheap China **** spigot that keeps our bread and circuses up and running. Gifting the Taliban with some sweet milspec was kinda like a transactional fee to make the deal go smoothly.

The military was the remaining institution within the government that many Americans believed was still competent and was held in high regard. No more. It should be quite clear that the military joined the rest of the corrupt, bureaucratic, and incompetent government agencies some time ago. It is not capable of defeating a backwards band of young fighters with nothing more than rifles, much less a China or a Russia.

Don't tell me the politicians tied the military's hands. The Joint Chiefs of Staff have a lot of power. They and their civilian cohorts own this mess. I'm still waiting for the resignations (HA).

Congress is a hall of shame. A few like Rand Paul make a tiny ineffective squeak a couple times a year. I'd like to see 100% replacement.

Here is a rhetorical question: If Buyden is impeached, doesn't Kamel Toe replace him? And the next in line is the speaker of the house? I'm sure we don't want that eventuality to happen. But then, again, at this point, it seems that our Constitution is lamentably DOA. The Founding Fathers said something to the effect that it takes moral men to uphold that which was they were creating.

maybe it makes more sense at state or local level, but the federal goverment looks beyond repair to me.

@Blanca -

I work in DC with high visibility into the DoD...most of the respectable competent people have either retired, taken cushy jobs in industry, or been pushed out into oblivion. The military is currently run by buffoons and political hacks...as is most of the "think tanks" our nation relies on to be the "brains behind the machine." I've never seen so many closed minded politically biased people...anything that goes against the GIN is immediately put down and the person putting forward these "outlandish" ideas are pushed out...I know first hand, I'm getting pushed out of my organization.

note: GIN = gated institutional narrative

@Comrader - The LP has refused to take the positions that would win and which are 100% consistent with the party's principles. The day they wish to speak with me (I *WAS* an EC member in Florida, elected to the position, and resigned when this became clear) they're welcome to have that conversation.

Until then I consider them goat-****ing grifters who have no intention of ever winning anything.
