I got back into stock & option trading last March after staying out of it for over a decade. Did well, but after yesterday's market I decided to move the wins into the recognized column, and close darn near every trade, except those that didn't break technical support. I suspect by September Prion disease will be so wide spread that panic will set in. How do you play a stock market when a pandemic has been so terribly managed? It's over my head. I can make good money swing trading with options, but market collapses are a whole different thing. For me it's best to sit it out until the dust starts to settle. Good luck to all the traders here. Karl's advice is sound, best to sit this one out.

@Smacktle,

With 330,000,000 people and 435 "Representatives", there are over 750K people per representative. The USA has the highest number of people per representative in the world, excepting India. Even China does better.

Given the gerrymandered nature of political districts, you can expect that at least 40% of the people in each district have no chance of influencing the outcome. There are only a few true swing districts.

"We" most certainly did not put Congress there. If they ever get to the levels of Great Britain, about 100k people per Representative, then you might have a finger to point.

Are we going to have a functioning stock market by the time everything is said and done? Serious question.

The "functioning" stock market ended back in the 80s.

There are few 'traders' left around. The markets are just a big casino; of course, the cards are marked, the wheel is weighted and the dice are loaded.

Ya gotta be quick.

Now my county announces door-to-door vaccine offerings to go along with the door-to-door visits from the feds. Work so hard to buy a tiny little plot of land in a decent neighborhood, where my kids can run around with friends and be kids, and now I'm teaching them to run inside and lock the doors when they see strangers knocking on the neighbors' doors. I've been on the doom train since before it was cool and this is the first time I'm legitimately afraid both of actions being taken against us and my reaction to them.

I think the vaccines are stupid just like I think drinking yourself to death is stupid. But...live and let live as long you leave me alone...and now they're refusing to leave me and mine alone......

@Superdude....

The last time I checked placebos didn't kill people directly or cause harm. This vexxine is no placebo. It kills.

@SunnyP

"Jabbers remorse". Loving that term-lol. These people are truly psychotic if not outright evil. They want everyone dead and suffering if their own decisions cause them to die or suffer.

This vexxine has truly marked the Children of Belial for all to recognize.

Just an Idea, who says the people are actually electing congressional representatives? It looks to me, the parties are stuffing the ballot boxes. Who knows what the real vote tallies are?

We are probably starting to get into the long term effects of the vaccine. It would be ironic but not unprecedented for a vaccine to make you more susceptible to certain strains of a disease. I think the big risk is they may be running around shedding virus despite not feeling that sick. I have heard 10% of the TX reps on that plane tested positive as of today. It is unfortunate they didnt have masks on. Maybe we could have slayed that superstition.

I can feel the noose tightening here. First there was a sign at work asking you to "Share your vaccination status, whatever it is so we can plan return to work". Then there was a sign on the inside of the door to the head. Then they sent out emails asking us what our status was. Then I got one addressed to me asking because I refused to answer. ****, they even started offering ****ing drawings for prizes if you submit your status. And they extended the deadline for that...

Just for return to work they say. Even though many of us weren't pussies and have been coming in to work the whole godddamned time.

Question responses are totally anonymous naturally...

Having to decide which hill I'm going to die on with this.

The desperation of the .gov to get people vaxxed has been creeping me out. My gut has been telling me something is wrong. I assumed maybe it was a money thing, a power thing. Occam's razor and all that. Still didn't set right with me. So yeah, maybe the people in charge got high on their own supply of fearium and they started believing their own BS story. Or maybe you guys are right and they want to make sure "We will all go together when we go" if this vax is bad news.

This sounds ****ing awful but if this vax is going to go pear shaped on us can it run up a body count too big to hide, fast, and stop this insanity before they start injecting the kids? They still might have a chance.

"if the vax is going to go pear shaped on us..."

Yes, it can run up a body count too big and too fast for our current society to adapt.

If it goes down like that, the survivors will inherit a country that does not resemble current-day America in any way. Perhaps there will be several countries assembled from the pieces. In general the survivors will be young, strong, healthy, tough-minded, and extremely lucky.

"Luck" is a teachable skill. It consists mainly of paying attention to what is going on around you and keeping an open mind until it is time to act on what you see. Children have a very good chance of learning this skill, especially if their parents teach them.

@Thecomedian Hold the line! You're not alone in feeling coerced to take the jab.

Heard from a friend their work is strongly encouraging everyone to be vaxxed, but also asking them to submit paperwork requesting exemptions if they aren't vaxxed. Nobody there can figure out why they'd need an exemption from something that's "encouraged".

None of this makes sense.

Schadenfreude - the pleasure felt at another's misfortune. The only people I've ever found who have consistently indulged in this sick behavior are people whose options have been closed off. They're caught in an alley with no exit. They're in despair and shutting down. They're the kind of people who love to see other folks suffer. Any wonder why the Leftists want to make everyone else suffer. The Leftists have already aborted their own lives. A confirmed Leftist's soul is an abortion. That's why Leftists are so dangerous.
It only takes a tiny percentage of confirmed crazies to redirect an entire nation, an entire people, onto a suicidal path. Lenin and Trotsky did it in Russia with the help of a tiny band of five-alarm psychos. All that was necessary for them to succeed was for good people to do nothing to oppose them.
A lot of Americans are afraid to speak out against the craziness going on with COVID, Climate Change, censorship, and all the rest. Too much of America, mostly the Blue cities, feels like 1917 Russia.
All this BS can be shut down quickly. All that's necessary is for ordinary Americans to find their voice. The American Revolution got its start in the town hall meetings, the gatherings banned by the British overlords. We need a new "town hall" today.

I agree that Congress enables the fed and should be held accountable instead of deferring blame always to the fed. But what about the spvs and blackrock? What about almost interest free loans to the big banks and corps? What about a trillion a night reverse repo market? What about paying interest on all those bank reserves? They got a pretty big expanding balance sheet. Why are they so fearful of an audit? I dont think the majority of Congress critters understand what is happening.

For the last couple months on my daybreak hike I've seen a fellow hiker in the distance across the desert South of my home. Well our paths crossed the other day. A California 'refugee' as we call them in this area. He bought a home here in rural Nevada to escape the high taxes,crime and mismanagement of California politics. As he spoke it was obvious we of totally different political philosophies with me being independent conservative libertarian minded individual. Surprising he also identified as a independent. However he was brainwashed with the need for compassion, the humanity, the need for understanding, the less fortunate on and on. The need for the Government to support them all regardless as to their place in society. Well I worked all my life, did filthy jobs others would not do get ahead. So I have minimal compassion for those who chose not to work strive for success etc.

However this refugee said his biggest fear is that we are quickly sliding toward a Marxist future. I thought to myself, here was this stranger in the desert supporting the policies that are enabling this Marxist agenda which is taking place at this time. Believing one thing but fearing the consequences of these policies. It just baffles me....

Liberals lack insight. This is a trait that is common to mentally ill people as well.

This is the reason why so many media people are baffled when they hear 80% no longer regard them as a credible source of information. Media people, particularly journalists, suffer from a specific kind of mental illness where if they read it or saw it on the television, they believe it is real, no matter how outlandish it is. They are at the mental level of small children, who also have yet to distinguish reality from fantasy.

One of my favorite quotations of all time:

Quote:
Lord Kelvin: If you can not measure it, you can not improve it. I often say that when you can measure what you are speaking about, and express it in numbers, you know something about it; but when you cannot measure it, when you cannot express it in numbers, your knowledge is of a meagre and unsatisfactory kind.

In today's world very few people seem to use factual information for anything. How you feel or what your intentions are the important measures. Printing money and giving it to "help" people is like hooking up a an IV to a dehydrated person and not pulling it out until they suffocate on their on fluids.

Truth and common sense no longer apply. Someone posted Rudyard Kipling's "The Gods of the Copybook Headings" not long ago. Which basically said humans over generations like to take the easy way learn their lesson and then the following generations make the same stupid mistakes over again. Written over 100 years age Kipling was clairvoyant or a student of history. I believe he was a student of history. People like to forget history with usually disasterous results. Hence look at the world around us today.

CONgress is reportedly elected by the people. CONgress usually has an approval rating of somewhere south of 20%. However, most CONgressman have approval ratings north of 50%. This is a mind boggling statistic. To me the explanation is "Its not our guy's fault, but all the other CONgressional districts elected creeps."

Many of us here on the Ticker are frustrated with a gov't that looks to help certain sectors of society (themselves) while grinding the other sectors into the ground. Meanwhile our tax dollars are being used to grind the average taxpayer into the ground. We seem to keep playing this same game and losing ground as the game goes on. We work hard to succeed and provide a lifestyle we want and seemed to be punished for it, Meanwhile our hard earned tax dollars that are being confiscated from us are making the political sector and their friends very rich and paying to keep the less fortunate down, angry, and buy their support/votes. The pols and their friends are using straw man arguments like white supremacy, racism, climate change, etc. to convince enough people "those other people are keeping you down and poor."

Racism, white supremacy, WuFlu and climate change are more subjective than objective terms. You can take some statistics and twist and turn them into a crisis or problem that isn't as awful as they make it or really doesn't exist. Pushing the narrative our society is guilty of all these crimes and we must change it to what every totalitarian system make them more powerful and the rest of us their serfs. The proof of their lies is they aren't running to live their life in those places they praise and the people there are running here to get away from what is being thrusted on US. The irony is those what are doing the running away are actually bring their problems here. Soon there will be no other place to run.

The fraud continues and the more dumbed down the generations become the more they accept the lies and philosophies that are designed to make them submit and turn over their birthright of freedom to others who really don't deserve it. Which means if you are willing to give away your birthright for really nothing, then you didn't deserve it in the first place.

I really think kicking out God, morality, and a strong work ethic for the land of utopia seems to be the poison pill that kills most prosperous societies.

FYI, our department head mentioned how bad Covid was because it caused a 1.5 year life expectancy decrease according to the CDC. Knowing he lives off the cool-aid, a short dig showed that their claim is only valid when projected out indefinitely, the actual life expectancy loss last year was 5 days.
