Keep telling us that the economy is strong and "getting stronger" when your party continues to make it profitable to not work and, further, insults those who do.

Keep supporting, along with all the so-called "Red" Governors, the premise of employers forcing people to either do dangerous things or be publicly shamed and humiliated, effectively stamping them with a yellow star for refusing, while believing that this won't lead to plenty of quits and "screw off" responses.

Keep thinking you can do the same thing to young adults when it comes to colleges and that'll be ok too.

And keep thinking that spending more money than we take in via taxes will not inexorably lead to inflation, which it always has and always does since inflation is a monetary phenomena, and that the American people will not figure it out and say "go to Hell!" in response.

The last 18 months have been a panoply of lies.

In 2007, if you remember, we were lied to and told "Subprime is contained."

In 2008 when it was proved not to be contained who went to jail for neither containing it or telling the truth about it?  Nobody.

In 2009 when the decision was made to blow another bubble who cared?  Nobody, for as long as the spending beyond our means flowed.

Through the last 13 years as I've pointed out the exponential nature of our federal budget, centered in exactly one place, Health Care, who has done a thing about it?  Nobody.

The last 18 months have shown people that it's all a bunch of bull**** and every time its shown to be bull**** and that someone cheated the answer is to paper over it and make it more-likely, rather than less, that they can succeed.

For those who have been in or run a small business: How many of you could do it under today's regulatory and tax environment and make it work?  How many would not be squashed like a cockroach by someone stealing your technology out of China, then importing it back and selling it through Amazon, a rank violation of law for which Spamazon is never held accountable?  How many have been treated like cattle the last 18 months; if stocking shelves in a grocery store told they're "essential" then told to wear a diaper on their face under pain of being fired because, well, they're "so essential" that derogating the humanity of the basic thing called a smile and rendering every one of said persons an NPC is considered part of the deal?  What's essential about that other than your manual labor?  Certainly not your personal contribution -- or even your humanity.  If they could train a chimp to do that job they have now proved they would.  Meanwhile the "less essential" person was paid for months to sit at home and smoke bong hits, and yes, the weed store (and booze store) were both "essential."

Is this new?  Of course not.

Indeed it goes back to firms like Disney firing huge parts of their IT department but, if you want the meager severance they offered you had to train your H1b replacement.  Who probably came from India, is not a US citizen, and his first and foremost qualification was that he was willing to work for half of your salary and benefit package.  Oh, but it's the "most magical place on earth" they say.  Uh huh.  Where, for the last year, you were ejected from their parks for refusing to wear a mask -- outdoors.  It seems that Disney doesn't just think their employees are sheep to be sheared and then, when there's no more wool, turned into mutton -- that applies to their guests as well.

What, you thought you were paying good money and would be respected in return?  Ha!

How about Musk?  Oh, he's wonderful, right?  Is that so?  The man has run the most-prolific tax farm in the history of the United States.  That's right -- he doesn't make money selling cars.  He makes money siphoning off tax money from everyone in the nation and exploiting outrageous penalty-and-incentive programs forced on everyone.  In short he sells his "zero emission" credits to other companies that make fuel-powered vehicles and also has collected billions of taxpayer dollars for making battery-powered vehicles.  Which charge off coal and natural gas plants that..... burn fossil fuels just like your gas-powered car does.  Which have relied on wildly ecologically dangerous practices to mine and refine lithium in China, along with forced child labor for cobalt in places like the Congo.  And which, despite China's record of slavery, concentration camps, forced abortions and sterilization and even forced organ harvesting he now has praised on the nation's 100th Anniversary of their communist government.

If Elon loves China so much why doesn't he emigrate there?  Well, because he's not done running you over with his electric cars, for one thing.  Nor is he done putting up Starlink where he can monitor, control and redirect every single thing you do on the Internet if you're crazy enough to buy said service from him, while ruining the night sky with his thousands of little flashing dots forever.

Is Microsoft better?  Uh, no.  The company signed a device driver that stole and siphoned off datasending it to China.  What have they faced for this?  Nothing.  It was "only aimed at gamers", says Microsoft.  Nothing like this has ever happened before, right?  Well, maybe and maybe not.  You can bet it's not exactly popular to admit to such a thing, so...... yeah.  Oh by the way, a driver by definition typically has access to anything in the OS, so if it wanted to it could steal things like..... encryption keys and passwords.

I've been writing on these topics for more than a decade right here.

What amazes me is that it took a virus that mostly killed people who had spent a decade or more deliberately poisoning their metabolism, leading said people to then insist that everyone else take precautions to cover their own personal decisions, to wake some people up.  Even today governors are running the same bull****; Asa out in Arkansas had CNN attempt to corner him the other day and rather than throw it back in their face and tell them the truth, that by the NY Coroner's data only seven people 75+ died with Covid19 who didn't have one or more of a short list of conditions he instead continued to play the game.  It is indeed true that a large percentage of Americans have one or more such conditions.  It is also true that most of said Americans have them because they deliberately undertook the actions that caused said conditions.

If you choose to drink yourself to death is it anyone else's responsibility when the inevitable starts to occur?  No.

Governor Bill Lie, I mean Lee, of Tennessee just ran the same crap on Music City, lauding the huge crowd for the Fourth of July.  That's nice.  Who remembers and will hold that rat bastard accountable for those people not being there last Fourth of July?  How quickly we forget and let people like him wave the flag!  Oh, wait, some people did remember and they also remembered that exactly nobody has been held to account for all the jackbooted bull**** that not only did he impose but that Vanderbilt, in the same town, still has *******s running their mouths and issuing threats while Sir EatsBagsOfDicks Lee deflects off the fact that he has refused to stomp on them and in fact his own departments, over which his administration preside, cheer them on.  Nor, may I remind you, did the legislature stomp on either Vanderbilt or the Governor -- which, having the power of the purse, they could do.

Never mind the underlying load of crap that all of these Governors, including Lee, have allowed to infest their states such as white hate.  No, not white supremacy, white hatred -- by everyone else.  Oh, yes allegedly "Critical Race Theory" has been banned in school curricula.  Is that so?  Were the teachers unions, the largest of which just voted to not only impose it but go after anyone who disagreesde-certified and ejected from all said states?  Oh, you say, the NEA isn't in Tennessee?  Well, technically true but technicalities aren't the point -- facts are, and the "TEA" while formally a membership association and not a union is..... well, you decide.

Perhaps some fine folks who happen to belong to the ethnic group that has made possible electric lights, air conditioning, diesel and gasoline engines, tall steel buildings (that don't fall down on their own), the Internet (TCP/IP), flush toilets and more have decided that if you're going to allow federal, state and local governments to call all of said people racist devils because of their skin color and heritage then they'll see how you like crapping in the gutter of the street, in the dark because the lights and water are both off and your cellphone won't work either.

I'm sure that couldn't have anything to do with it.

I just visited a retirement community in NE Florida. There were lot premiums of $100K or more to back onto the woods. They couldnt tell me the actual premium for any given lot because you bid on them as they are slowly released. In addition, the base prices are massively higher than just a couple of years ago.

This is what 0% interest rates and supply chain problems and Yankees fleeing the northeast hell holes bring you.

Yep.

And doing so to Florida is dangerous as DeSATAN won his last election by a ****hair, and the man he beat was a literal meth-smoking nutjob who's best and highest qualification was not being white.

Oh, and the secretary of agriculture, who is responsible for issuing CWPs and is an elected position, is a Democrat who immediately upon taking office started slow-walking and otherwise ****ing with said process.

Constitutional carry in Florida? Ha!

DeSATAN wants to be President. The odds are good next year the Governor's mansion flips blue, and if it does then you now need supermajorities to override vetoes in order to keep any of the niceties you THINK you're getting there.

Never mind DeSATAN's little poison pill in the recent "no vax passport" bill, which he signed, that actually allows FORCED vaccination or any other medical treatment. Which nobody, I'm sure, will EVER abuse.

Right?

I smelled the budget and blue hive problem coming and it was a LARGE part of why I left.

The problem is that the radical left never stops advancing its agenda. The right simply resists it to some extent - enough to obtain political office but not enough to reverse anything. I worry about Florida as the right wins by the narrowest of margins. The low population western states like Idaho will quickly be overwhelmed by the influx of Californians which will change them in much the same way that Colorado has been changed into a festering bastion of liberalism.

@Blanca - At a Presidential level only EVs count. The Democrats know this, of course, and over time if you are never beaten on a Presidential level then you can't win judicially either as the USSC will inexorably shift over time.

The only fly in the ointment is that since USSC appointments are lifetime you are never certain of what you're getting, even if you think you are at the time. This has bitten several Presidents in the past, but who knows how it plays out in the future.

Internal migration out of the blue hives would be fine provided the people didn't bring the blue hive bull**** with them, BUT THEY REPEATEDLY DO.

Yup.

They escape an unaffordable hellhole, see how nice the (usually red staters) other folks have it, live there for a while and say "Well, I can't believe they don't do XYZ like they did in our (again, unaffordable and just-escaped-from blue hellhole) last place. We need to demand XYZ right now!"

Where XYZ is any amount of stupid environmental, regulatory or "for the children" bull**** measures, which rarely accomplish the intended task but absolutely work to raise costs and turn things to ****.

And then they move again. And again. And **** in every place they eat.

The blue hive, or blue hoards are all coming from liberal **** holes that liberal policies have destroyed, and there are moving to red states, and they will vote for the same policies that created the **** holes they left. That should turn the red states to liberal **** holes in less than six years. Very sad to watch.

It makes one wonder "what's next?". I mean we banter about the collapse of the country, but what will that really mean? This should probably be a "come to Jesus" moment in the literal sense, for a lot of folks. Rural folks may have an easier time of it, but cities and suburbia are absolutely screwed, if or rather when a socioeconomic collapse happens. I am reminded of the meme with the reporter asking two Amish fellows "how come there are so few CV cases in your community?" "We don't have TV."

My cynical side has a more-simple explanation:

If you look at Medicare spend in FY 2019 drug spending actually went down, and the rest was, all considered, under reasonable control (up, but at a lower than average rate.)

This did not make Pharma and the big medical firms happy, including the insurance companies (remember that when you're an insurance company since your margin is set by law the only way to grow is to have more claims or more expensive claims. No other path is available) so they had every reason to exploit anything that came along, and to enlist everyone else (e.g. big tech, media, etc) to reverse this.

Which, in FY20, they did.

Now in FY21 it's showing up in SPADES in those numbers.

To them it's just about money.

If people are seriously injured or die they do not care.

It's just about the money.

Just as it was in 2009 with Obamacare.

Regarding the economy is getting strong and getting stronger.

I am often look at the economy from the perspective of what's happening on the ground not the data that Karl uses because I don't have the time and I don't have his talent. I am in day 14 of a 17 day long vacation (wanted to get in some of my bucket list items before the collapse). So far, the National Parks (Glacier, Rushmore, Wind Cave, Teddy Rosevelt and areas like the Black Hills are not full. It's almost if I am travelling off season.

If the economy is doing so well these parks would be full. I have talked with several folks while touring these parks and all have remarked similarly. Custer State Park and the Needles Highway were basically deserted yesterday on the 4th.

Saturday the local pub here was literally deserted. I was the only customer when I stopped in for a beer.

Yes, the traffic was heavy in this area, and I'm sure the rentals are all full (judging from the pricing and availability on hotel sites, which I do survey from time to time.) But the actual spend at merchants appears to be a different thing entirely.

Ditto on Friday; I expected the grocery store to be flat-out mobbed with people buying steaks and such. Nope. Got what I needed and was in and out of there quite quickly.

Maybe but I think that's setup to blame the unvaxxed and foment civil war. All signs are pointing to that in my opinion because all the actions are otherwise irrational.

Also ran into a Father/Daughter doing a northwestern tour of the country as the father is helping move his 32 year old daughter back to upstate NY from LA. She finally had enough of the So Cal lifestyle. Long story short she had all of her key possessions in the back of a Prius. I asked if she had shipped her household goods via a moving company or using PODS. She said that PODS were crazy and the rates had tripled from a rate if $1,500 late last year.

What a great economy. People are fleeing urban areas in fear..... also heard stories in Kalispell that a lot of the outsiders who moved in over the winter have complained a lot about the climate...... Will be interesting to see how long all these folks stay

Civil wars have a habit of becoming rapidly uncontrollable and TPTB, if they think they'll be immune from the carnage or even profit from it are sadly mistaken.

We all bleed red and we all are quite easily to kill when you get down to it. NOBODY will take the steps necessary to have actual reasonably-effective security outside of the President and immediate family.

There is a LOT of arrogance in that regard among the so-called "wealthy and elite." Anyone who really wanted to "get" one of their children or relatives could trivially do so. The only reason it doesn't happen is that you'll likely get caught and its not worth it.

In the event of a Civil War, especially a dirty civil war that has no clear delineating geographic line between factions all that disappears instantly like a fart in a Church. Go talk to the Bosnians about that.

I don't think people are taking vacations. I think they are visiting family more or less on holidays since they were not able to. The airport data and road traffic is showing major travel did take place.

I hope no one on this board thinks Slo Joe is in charge of anything. It appears that anyone can be President these days - go to any nursing home. Throw the names of the residents in a basket and pick one. It doesn't matter which one - any one will do as President of the USA.

America is the laughingstock of the world. I truly believe the country is slated for destruction so the New World Order can come into being.

As for the economic collapse - I think conditions will vary greatly depending upon where one lives and what part of the country one lives in. I believe the cities will be killing fields. The rural areas will fare much better. If the people in the suburbs pull together, they might stand a chance.

I honestly never thought I would be living in such times. I believe much of what we are seeing has been carefully orchestrated and planned for years.

As for lies - the alphabet agencies are very close to achieving their goal where everything the public believes is a lie. So how do you convince people they have been lied to? A whole lot of people have bought into the con and when they realize it, that's when things get ugly.

The Frat Clan had the exact opposite experience during our grand trip west starting around June 10th. Most parks were balls-to-the-wall full, and luckily Mrs. Frat made reservations very early (rates were stupid, but still about 50% of what we would have gotten were we to just 'show up' - and that's if there was even vacancy at that time!). Custer was rocking, and we did the hellacious hike around the park. The younger two then did the dip in the lake, which was also pretty busy.

Rushmore seemed normal-busy, even though the weather looked ****ty. The Tetons were beautiful and Jenny Lake was damn packed; ask me sometime about our family dehydration rather than wait the 90-ish minutes it looked like for the ferry back. "What's 2.5 more miles when you've already done at least 6?!" Well, without water it's quite a bit, actually lol.

Yellowstone... was Yellowstone. Busy as hell in the standard areas, and holy hell the places that tour buses can reach were stupid. It was hilarious that we roll up on the trail with our family of 5, youngest being 8, see the great scenery and laugh at the folks who could barely make it from the bus to the overlook.

Finally... Arches; one of my all-time favorites. Here is what we got when we hit Arches at 7:45AM! I was pissed at the family since I had been up for almost 2 hours, but... Mrs. Frat and the Fratspawn like their sleep too much. Sigh, fight the battles you can win...

RE: Rural red states like Idaho & Montana being swamped with blue state expats.

Can't the local politicians pass zoning laws to stop issuing new building permits and cut off the flow? If all your turnover is then only existing home sales, it becomes much harder to be swamped.

Greenacr,

I think it's really interesting that the national parks you have been to have been so empty. And Glacier, my goodness, one of the most beautiful. I get an article in my feed almost every day about how packed the national parks are and the need for a reservation system. Everything is lies and agenda with these people. Its amazing
