Caught Lying AGAIN: 'Russia-Russia-Russia'
[Comments enabled]

Well well look what we have here.

The FBI "recovered" most of the Colonial cryptojack ransom payment.

How?

They served a seizure warrant on an exchange in the United States.

Which had the bitcoin at it.

Which means it wasn't Russia-Russia-Russia, was it?

Likely the BTC was at Coinbase, since the location is identified as "Northern District of California" although that's speculation.

You won't convince me that Putie-boy hacked Colonial (nor any Russian group associated with him) and had the funds sent to a US custodial account and then left them there instead of transferring it somewhere outside the US originally (BTC is global, after all) and then immediately moving it offline into a "hard" wallet where you would have to obtain the physical hardware.  Any "state-sponsored" entity would have done that within minutes of the transaction occurring.

In other words The Feds lied.

Again.

Next question: "Know Your Customer" law applies to US custodians and exchanges. So who was it held on behalf of?  "I don't know" is a bad answer by the way.

PS: If an immediate indictment against whoever held that account or the custodian themselves as accessories to the crime is not forthcoming then my presumption changes -- within days -- to this was not a "hack" at all, it was an internal attack by our own government against Colonial.  Why?  Because KYC law is clear and so is where they seized the Bitcoin, so either the person(s) responsible are known and get busted immediately, the custodian gets busted for knowingly engaging in money laundering and as an accessory, or the government did it.

Are there any examples of instances when they're not lying?

Not asking for a friend. Seriously, I don't remember the last time they stated anything that was provable, factually correct in a matter of substance.

Just got to my hotel room while travelling in Northern Indiana. On the way I was listening to Pat Miller on WOWO. He had just had a guest (forget his name) who stated that beware of the government that says to be fearful of the Hidden whatever..... be it hidden virus, hidden Russians (election interference) hidden hackers..... That we are just being manipulated.

Turn on my PC and Karl is of course all over it

So, the hackers were less competent than originally thought. Speaks volumes about the competence of Colonials IT department. Must be even dumber than previously thought.

OT but Bezos has some balls going up in his rocket. He's not my favorite person but I have to give him some respect if he goes through with it.

Cyber thieves smart enough to hack a pipeline would be smart enough to move the BTC ASAP. A pro account at Kraken can move $10 million/day, so it should have taken no more than a day to move the BTC, unless it was tagged as "dirty."

But all that aside, I'd also think the hackers would have had the BTC sent to a private hardware wallet, not a custodial wallet sitting at a major US exchange.

The FBI story stinks to high heaven.

The hackers were very incompetent. Sent to an air-gapped hardware wallet and they can't be recovered.

The BTC trail can always be traced - it is not anonymous.

Very strange that the BTC remained in the US. CIA op perhaps?

Perhaps the crooks got cold feet in terms of moving the coins back to their wallets abroad? Seems fishy to me as this could take place very quickly to an array of external wallets, pretty quickly, or first internally, then externally.

Russians, indeed. Lol. They are not that dim.

Come on guys, think of the positive side of this situation. You know like silver linings. The ransom monies have been recovered. Colonial has recouped the funds they paid. This is a good thing, right? sarc off/

We are all being manipulated beyond our wildest imagination. Trust nothing until it has been officially denied. The job of the CIA and the other alphabet agencies is to assure that everything the public believes is a lie.

They are doing a bang up job. The masses are oblivious. Woe to them who call evil good and good evil.

It is SO easy to set up a so-called offline cold storage wallet. Hell, I even have one on my linux laptop, and I have very little sophistication in all of this. This stinks of wanting to be found out and wanting the BTC to be recovered.

What happened to the story about the military hacking and taking the wallet shortly after the ransom was paid? There was even a statement by the hackers... Something about $90M lost in the wallet?

There was a story immediately after the ransom about the hackers losing access to the bitcoin and the group dissolving. Not sure how that would play in. or how they could lose access.

Maybe Klaus and friends of the WEF boosted Colonial's profits to fake the entire event as a preview to JBS meat and the WEF "Let's Pretend" cyber event in July. Follows the SOP of the Coof and other strange events.

Finding Buttcoin still sitting in the US is not something one can envision Ruskies doing.

Wonder which supply chain is next to have one of these magic events?

At some point Putin ought to sue the USA for slander. He's no holy man, but he's not to blame for everything gone bad in America!

On the other hand,he must get a chuckle seeing how powerful the American elite make him out to be.

And how about Zelensky of Ukraine meeting with Biden? Can Zelensky meet the Biden family price to get Putin's pipeline stopped? Whose side is Vindman working for?
