Where's The Media? Not In Maricopa!
[Comments enabled]

You'd think the media would be all over the fact that Maricopa County is doing a hand audit of the 2020 election results.

After all, we've been repeatedly told for months that there was no fraud, all those ballots were voted by actual people and the results are what they are.

Ok, so now we have a group of people who through legislative process as Senators in the State, are doing exactly what ballot retention laws are there to make possible: A full, hand audit -- not a machine recount -- of the results.

Why a hand audit?  Because it's the only way you can reasonably detect things like alleged mailed-in ballots with no creases in the paper, which is hard, forensic proof they were not mailed back in the required envelope, which cannot accept the ballot unless it is folded, as just one example.

So where is the national media on this?  Absent.

There are a few reports from state and local media, such as here, but no widespread national coverage.

There should be, and it should go well beyond the transparent propaganda of the Beelzebezos "may it hurt" Post.

Among other things Democrats brought in national folks like Perkins Cole to try to stop it with a last-minute lawsuit asking for an injunction.  The Judge wasn't having it, demanding a $1 million bond to get the injunction protecting the Senate and county from any costs associated with such a delay.  The Democrats freaked out at the surety bond requirement and thus the counting began.

The Democrats' claims in this regard are patently absurd; there is no personal integrity risk in hand-auditing ballots since once separated from any mailed-in envelopes it is impossible to know who cast what ballot.  As such it's flatly impossible for there to be a privacy issue; it simply can't happen.

The Democrats also argue that "conspiracy buffs" are involved in the audit.  Again, so what if they are?

Whether you believe in conspiracies of various sorts or not the facts are what they are.  There are three persons doing each ballot examination.  There are two cameras recording each counting station; one above and one at table level.  The record will be preserved, and it is what it is.

Yes, I know, machine recounts have been performed.  So what?  A machine recount just counts the paper that's there.  Who's examined the provenance of the paper?  Nobody, on a comprehensive basis.  "Random" samples were examined?  Prove the samples were random and comprehensive enough to catch anything hinky.  The margin of victory in question here is some 10,000 votes, and this one county alone is more than 2 million votes.  Less than 1% is all it takes.

The entire reason that laws require the retention of all election materials for extended periods of time is exactly this; if someone wants to challenge the integrity of the physical paper itself, and is willing to fund the effort, no matter who they are and no matter how kooky they appear, the premise of fair and free elections requires that this and all similar efforts go forward.  They're writing the check, there is no privacy issue that can be implicated as a cast ballot cannot be linked to a specific person, so what's the problem?

Anyone should be able to demand and do this in any jurisdiction of the United States, anywhere -- so long as they're willing to fund the cost including the required chain-of-custody security.  Exactly nobody, in a free society with allegedly fair elections, should ever be required to accept "trust us."  Nope.

If there's no hinky compromise to be found, then there is not.  You can't make what's not there appear out of whole cloth.

So why would the Democrats care if some group, no matter their motivation, blow a lot of money on something that they know is a waste of time because there as nothing wrong with the ballots, no systemic fraud existed, and nothing that shouldn't have happened to skew the results did?

Don't you like it when your opponent does stupid things and wastes money?  Of course you do.  That which they waste on stupid things they can't spend on smart things -- like calling your governing record out prior to the next election and trying to eject you at the ballot box.

Give me just one valid reason with a fully legitimate, no games played and no fraud election that you would not want these crazy conspiracy theorists to blow a huge pile of money on a worthless venture?

Just one reason.

Why is it that all I hear is crickets.......

If you believe that you won fair-and-square, you should welcome the opposition spending its money to legitimize your candidate.

Personally, I will be very surprised if anything is found.

The perplexing thing is that the traitors would even worry about being shot or arrested. There are not enough motivatable patriots in the USSA to take either action.

Of course this doesn't get any exposure. They want the sheep compliant and docile. God forbid the truth got out that elections mean precisely DICK and that these so called political parties are one in the same. Or that the alleged highest office in these former united states is nothing more than a figure head; akin to the british monarchy and that the real power is vested in the administrative and or unelected officials spread throughout the entirety of this bull**** system.
I've not cast a vote since 2012 when it became so obvious that this system is complete and utter nonsense; at least at the federal level and likely most of the states too.
Having said all that, I do find this **** fascinating. This drama is no doubt real and to me is just one cliff hanger episode after another. It's like real life 24 but Jack Bauer ain't gonna diffuse this nuke.

I don't think there was any national coverage of the audit in Missoula Co., Montana either, which showed significant anomalies...

https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/....

"Its conclusions were troubling: 4,592 out of the 72,491 mail-in ballots lacked envelopes 6.33% of all votes. Without an officially printed envelope with registration information, a voter's signature, and a postmark indicating whether it was cast on time, election officials cannot verify that a ballot is legitimate. It is against the law to count such votes."

Sorry, Maricopa has the feeling of side show hopium. Even if they find something the likelihood it will change any minds is small. I live in a rural area, the brainwashing with masks etc is surprising. There are pockets that object, but largely most are going along to not stand out. Not sure if there will be a tipping point for action. We are going to have to earn our freedom is the way I see it.

Karl, say Maricopa flips. Day it causes a chain reaction and other states flip. What do you think would really happen at the various levels (cultural, social, legal, government,...)?

@Spanky - Any hard evidence of fraud (e.g. provably invalid ballots on mass-scale) has a decent chance of setting off a ****storm of unbelievable intensity.

This is the only logical reason for the Dims to oppose it; otherwise, why would you care? As I pointed out if your opponent is willing to waste their money on worthless pursuits LET THEM! Especially if their pursuit will inevitably confirm there was nothing wrong.

Theres video out there of CNNs 2020 election coverage which shows the Pennsylvania results sometime after midnight on Nov 6th with Biden at 517,713 (59.0%) and Trump at 352,736 (40.2%). One minutes later as Pennsylvania results roll around again the numbers have updated to show Biden at 535,085 (68.5%) and Trump at 238,866 (30.5%). I would simply like an explanation of why this is fake news, and if its not, how the **** this can happen. Is that too much to ask?

I always love the charge of "It's a conspiracy theory." As if that instantly nullifies any inquiry.

I don't do "conspiracy theory." I merely look at the facts and try to come up with a reasonable theory that explains them. The simplest theory is the active theory, until further investigation debunks it, and then it's off to another theory that explains all the facts.

It's called "the scientific method."

For example, explain all the facts surrounding Pedo Island and Jeff Epstein.

Explain all the facts surrounding COVID, the vaxx, its promoters, and their previous statements of wanting global population reduced.

Now, explain all the facts surrounding the statistical wonderment of the 2020 election.

What if most of the claims of election fraud are true?

Biden/Harris admin looks nervous and defensive most of the time - and their water carriers in the media are increasingly shril and deranged. Why would Madcow go to all this trouble to set a narrative if there was nothing to it?

What if they know exactly by what margin they cheated? Hence the mad policy to flood the country with people to vote Dem in a redo election.

You don't think they had Biden tee shirts printed up for the boarder jumpers for no good reason???

And check out HR1 - election integrity bye bye. Forever.

We had to deal with "Russian Collusion" for four years about the 2016 election, a fake "dossier", and millions of dollars spent for a two year investigation that found not even a shred of evidence supporting collusion and where the Special Counsel of the investigation, Robert Mueller, was mostly incoherent in front of Congress when explaining the investigation's findings. What's amazing is that the MSM and their allies still talk about "Russian Collusion" and believe it is true.

If the Left can have their election "interference" investigation, then the Right should be allowed to have one for the 2020 election. While I applaud what Arizona is doing, I want an investigation on the same level as the Mueller investigation. Only those that don't support "free and fair" elections would oppose this. What does the Left have to lose if their claim of not enough voter fraud to change the results of the election are true? If they are correct, then the Right looks like a bunch of conspiracy nuts. If they're wrong, say good to the Republic, the Left would never agree to the investigation's conclusions nor would they give up power peacefully.

There was also a Senate race or are they only looking at the Presidential results?
Kelly beat McSally by 80k votes in AZ.
Kelly beat McSally by 80k votes in Maricopa county.

80k/2M is 4%.

What was that fraudulent rate in Montana again?

I don't have enough BBQ sauce for that. I'd need a ****ing tanker truck to hide the taste.

But I do know a couple of pig farmers, so it all works out.

Engaging them isn't worth my time; it's not worth feeding the trolls. I know where I stand.

Good men go silent, and all that.
